  4. Hi there! Almost a month since last update, but a lot of work have been done. The development for version 1.1 is almost finished, only few minor tweaks are remaining plus documentation update. Some major features of this version: Optimized 3D cockpit geometry (a lot less polygons)Full AUTOPILOT simulationImproved flight model (now within less 10% of the real aircraft)SASL based systems simulation and logic Full checklist displayed on MFDMany bugs fixesHere is a pic with the checklist on MFD

  5. 1.) Waaaaay to many items to actually be considered fair towards Laminar Research. But since you asked... a.) REGULAR recuts of default scenery to update for OpenStreetMap water, road, and rail improvements. (Most critical!) b.) Implementation of "crowdsourced" airport process in WED and via R. Peel to finally get some buildings into "stock" X-Plane airports. c.) Urban/Suburban metro area representation improvements. (aka autogen) d.) Scenery textures which change with the seasons... please? e.) More ground scenery textures. f.) More autogen art assets overall. g.) More stock X-Plane scenery library objects (for use in item 1b) h.) Water texturing which is aware of depth/water type (tropical, muddy, ocean, etc. etc.) i.) Hire more full time developers or artists to help them actually meet some of their goals. Told you my list wasn't terribly fair! -Greg

  9. I fly both FSX and X-Plane 10/64, but with aircraft like this Saab, X-Plane is quickly becoming the premier simulation. The cockpit looks amazing. You guys call yourself "Leading Edge Simulations" and with this Saab, you are really living up to your name. Could also rightfully be called "Cutting Edge Simulations"

  10. Also remember to read the addendums because things changed in versions and new functions were added that don't reflect the 1.0 manual.

  11. That is a beautiful bird! Hm, might need to be picking up the Oahu scenery to go with it...

  14. At this moment there are 24 liveries in the base pack Saab package (passenger version). All will be included at no extra charge.

  16. Thank you ... Another quality aircraft to look forward to! The fleet of impressively simulated planes for X-Plane is growing by the day; my hobby is in safe hands.

  17. Truscenery's work is impressive, however with my penny pinching to save up for Norcal, SAAB and IXEG when they come out (and the fact that I generally only fly in the USA and Australia) ... I'll be giving those scenery's a miss this time around.

  18. Now that the truth of the joke has come out I wanted to address this for you, even though circumstances have now changed (since the product is not actually cancelled). Ben's post was in regard to his MacBook Pro. Apple has an extended warranty replacement program out on the logic board for his version of MBP. What happened was the video card was constantly rebooting the PC with multiple issues, including kernel panics. There was not an inch of data loss, and with such serious material (like Gizmo source) we are very careful with it. It's in the hands of multiple people (including Laminar), and backups are consistently pushed to a secure server in the cloud. I have no idea how long it would take for Apple to fix such a thing. See this post. All this said, I personally shipped Ben a new MacBook Pro last week and he received it today. Instead of getting the 2010 MBP sorted out, he was due for an upgrade anyhow and he's back on the grid with hardware he deserves to be working on. I just wanted to squash that silly rumor bug before it got out of hand. You're not the first one to show concern.

  19. Talk about breathing a sigh of relief!! I was actually mad when I read about the cancellation. I'm thinking "Who the #@~* is the jerks wanting more simplistic simulations! God sakes X-Plane has seen enough of that!! No matter how many April Fools I live through, I seem to always get fooled.

  20. Adlerx.. did you read the full documentation of the plane included? If not please read.. lots of the questions are replied there I think. Thanks!

  21. Ok, after we've had our fun with our April Fool's joke on the Saab, it's time to bring you all up to speed with what is happening...including Citation progress. As Cameron already mentioned, systems are complete on the Saab (they have been for a little while) and all we have left is adding the custom sounds. I'm still working on the manual, however, Theo and Jim had nothing to do on the Saab, so we all decided to get started on the Citation until we get a new build of Gizmo. So here's a couple of snaps of the Citation as it is for the moment.

  27. We haven´t decided on a sound solution, yet. The development version is running with the dreamengine plugin that the developer was nice enough to let us use for our prototype - hence the nice sounds you could hear on the LFMN pattern movie. For the final product I can only say that we will not be using default X-Plane sounds - because we totally agree, a realistic sound scenario goes a very long way in the suspension of disbelief. Jan

  29. The modeling and flight model have been done. Texturing has started, but we're dedicating all our time to the Saab for now. Once the Saab is finished, the Citation will be getting most of the attention (I have another fully modeled aircraft waiting to get some color.)
