Something I REALLY wanted to make. Some people say it's ugly. I say it's "charming"! No doubt Javier can do it justice.4 points

As you can see from the photos the cockpit still needs a little work. All the gauges are 3-D geometry and all the faces are hand-painted I tried using photo textures but they just didn't scale properly so I went the extra mile and re-created all the instrument faces by hand Jim JazAero2 points

Hi guys, Just wanted to say hi and also to post a few screenshots of an amazing plane which was added to my hanger last weekend. It's the T34C Mentor by Javier Rollon and in my mind, one of the most amazing aircraft I've ever flown in a simulator; be it FSX or X-Plane. I know it's been out for a while; but hey, it takes me a while to catch up with things ! She's really an absolute joy to fly; so hats off to the developer and many thanks, because she really is that good! Hope you like the screenshots Dom http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440373/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440373/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440459/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440459/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440749/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440749/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483532262/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483532262/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440675/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482440675/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483530136/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483530136/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483529784/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483529784/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483529722/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8483529722/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482438323/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482438323/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482438275/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482438275/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482437745/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482437745/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482437637/'>http://www.flickr.com/photos/41736044@N07/8482437637/'>T34CMentor by http://www.flickr.com/people/41736044@N07/'>domfliss, on Flickr1 point

Adding Taxisigns at the moment, and messing around with Terminal 2 (North). There are two variations possible, a textured model or 3d modeled with alpha transparency like EDDM. In the background the finished Iberia Maintenance Hangar.1 point

Over Sweden, just above the (lower) cloud deck. I had filed for FL06 on VATSIM, but ran into icing with the lower layer topping out around 6200'. There was another layer allegedly up around FL09, so I stuck 8000 in the ALT SEL and called it good. It's been a long time since I've had an actual voice ATC on VATSIM. Usually there's nobody controlling in the areas of Europe I've been flying (at least not at the times I'm flying). Not sure who Sweden Control was this morning, but he was very good; intelligible English, good volume, easy directions and not too fast for my decrepit mind to comprehend. Here we are established on the ILS for RWY 32 at ESSD. ATC gave me excellent vectors and a descent profile that worked out perfect.1 point

Hi guys! Probably the v1.1 will be released till the end of February. Improvements for this release will be: Better and more realistic operations across the cockpit, based on SASL. 64-bit version will be included.Improved manipulator for autopilot setting (altitude especially!) Manipulations for condition levers and flaps (not for throttles though).Improvements at "look" of the cockpit.A very basic landing gear for XP10.Now, tell me what you think of this?1 point

Hi Goran, saw one of these flying when I was staying Melbourne, Aussie....loud small and fast! If Just Planes releases anything from their catalogue like they are intending to with the 800x then maybe they might get the Connie converted as well?? Slainte, Andy NZCH1 point

http://youtu.be/PFnh-77I5QE This video is showcasing the beautiful landscape of the free (donationware) X-Plane 10 scenery New Zealand Pro created by me (a few months ago). Its my first experiment with a "larger" video, as I haven't done much (well, nothing) in this area before (especially as I am on Linux ... but I was surprised how polished video tools are nowadays). The scenery can be freely downloaded from my website: http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-10-new-zealand-pro/ Music is by Mike Andrews from http://audiofarm.org/mikeandrews. Titles are: softnessstrings and guitar1 point

Even better. Thanks igorland. As for1.1, download is not possible here. Can you use different kinds of caracters in the PDF summary ? For example to read in one glance: Payload, fuel, cg, Vref among other values. Until we have a native tool Inside the CRJ, this one could be added by Javier in the Users modifications folder.1 point

If you really want the realism of the simulator, buy the Wilmington scenery - the best out there! New upgrade coming soon, too! Even if it's not your home airport, the available approaches/procedures and airport ground operating environment will complement your flying greatly. One great scenery package and a couple of great aircraft, and you now have a new home airport! Can't beat it for practice, as I assume you're trying to do to complement your real-world flight training. Good luck in your decision.1 point

Thanks JimboG, but the speed I am looking for is called Vr ( rotation speed ). It is the speed at which you start to pull back on the yoke during take off. It varies with the weight of the aircraft, flap configuration etc etc. Thanks anyway !1 point

Thanks for the consideration Goran. Yes I should imagine it may prove difficult to find cockpit reference images for the AEW, especially since its a military variant. The exterior model certainly looks pretty cool though....Pretty funky! I think PMDG have done this sort of thing with their Jetstream, adding a couple of exterior mods, not to make them functional but just as bit of eye candy. Either way, this is going to be a superb addon with or without the AEW. You've done a sterling job mate. Cheers Rhydian.1 point

Rhydian I've been getting quite a few requests on the AEW variant and we are on the fence about whether or not to do it. I don't have so much of a problem making the mods to the flight model and modelling the extra bits around the exterior, but the interior would take up too much time. As a result of this, IF we do one later, it will be soon after we release the original package and it will only be the external changes.1 point

I have no idea which plane I should buy. I really think you have to make some kind of choice to start with. Are you "in" for airliners , GA or fighters? Buying scenery is consuming much money and diskspace. My advise , just buy the scenery you really cannot live without and use freeware as much as possible.1 point

Piper Cheyenne 400LS (PA-42-1000) Beech Super King Air 300 (not the 200 or 350, the 300!) Both have a nice combination of steam gauges and electronics. Good performance, complexity. Based on the CRJ and the JS32, I think Javier could really do either of them justice while leveraging and extending what's he's learned on those. Looking at the cockpit image for the 400LS, I was thinking it would be cool if Javier could integrate UFMC or XFMC. Woohoo! Mostly, though, I would by either so I could have nice XPlane models of these for FSE.1 point

Hd textures, dynamic sound, plugin driven instrumemts, full object, etc. That's what I want for a Pilatus. The STMA one isn't bad, it just isn't up to standards set by Jrollon, FlyJSim, LES, and even Carenado. If Mr. Rollon is going to use this thread to determine his next (now that the JS is out) my vote is for a Pilatus.1 point

You might be interested that Wayne is using the cut down, low-poly, low-resolution version. I made it specially for one of the beta-testers who is using a PowerMac G5. Originally, I had no intention of releasing it, but — thanks to Wayne — I've changed my mind. It could well be useful. The Comet is a big package, so the "economy" version could benefit people running older hardware, or when flying on line with other traffic. The latest work is here (hot off the press): http://www.dh-aircraft.co.uk/news/files/96eb54e98a365457e0c1de96d570b03b-100.html1 point

This is what I've been working on for the last two months or so. Still some things are missing in the cockpit!1 point
