  1. Page Field (KFMY) is a popular GA airport in Fort Myers, Florida. It's a perfect airport for flight training, where I logged 20 hours or so back in 2000. Since then the airport has grown, both in aircraft population and infrastructure. If you are into GA flying, or business jets as large as 727s, this is the hub for you. Page Field is also a great airport for cross country flying. Located in Southwestern Florida, it's easily accessible to Orlando, Lakeland, Tampa, St. Pete, Palm Beach, Vero, Miami, Key West, Naples, and it's nearby companion, KRSW. My goal was to make this airport as realistic as possible for the sake of practicing IFR cross country procedures. This is my first airport scenery endeavor, and I did my best to recreate FMY and its infrastructure, including a usable Class C airspace, for X-Plane 10. Here's what I came up with: Completely accurate airport layoutCustom Objects, accurately representing facilities including Base Ops (FBO), hangars, tarmac layout, parking lots, etc. Multiple starting points for single/multi-prop and jets, including hangar space and tie-down spots. Global lighting attached to every building.ATC pathsTaxiway and Runway signsOpenScenery X for aircraft population only (grouped and labeled; easily removable in WED)The only thing I'm missing is palm trees and some small shrubbery. I've tried some custom objects, but haven't quite taken to them yet. I have an orthophoto, but I'm not including it in the first version. I'm in the final stage of testing the file and organizing the folder contents. I hope to upload by next week. Let me just say that I am so grateful for the many of you whose how-to posts have been a huge help! I do have one logistical problem that I can't solve. Any ideas how to move what appears to be the airport VOR or glideslope beacon (as shown)? It doesn't show up in WED, and it's not where it *should be.* I'd like to not have to move the taxiway (which has only existed at FMY for a couple years now)

File Submitted: 21 Dec 2012 File Category: DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 KCGX is now available for v9 and v10. Aerobridge Studios-Meigs Field Developed and designed by : Peter Tram, John Spahn, Juan Menedez Manual : Peter Tram Photography: Online resources Version 2.0 Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (IATA: CGX, ICAO: KCGX) was a single strip airport that operated from December 1948 until March 2003. It was built on Northerly Island, the man-made peninsula that was also the site of the 1933–1934 Century of Progress in Chicago. The airport achieved international notoriety when Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley ordered city crews to bulldoze the runway at night, and without the 30-day advance warning required by FAA regulations. 6. Let's Talk Facades. I assume you have read: http://www.x-plane.c...rt/manuals/wed/ Draw your facade, or Select your previously drawn Facade On the right side, select "Pick Walls" (ensure it's "checked" and not "X") Now, with the pointer, select ONE of the Facade's points. (I normally use a bounding box to select it) On the right side again, you'll now see "Wall Type". Select the wall you want. The wall you have changed goes from RED to some other colour. Save/Export Scenery Pack, and Load in X-Plane The wall will now retain this attribute, and will not be 'randomly chosen' anymore. - CK.

  9. Thank you cyrille. I am "keep going" right now, working on the last few parts of the exterior model even today (sans landing gear). We should be providing some in flight exterior screenshots in the upcoming weeks. Tom K

  10. For US charts I use either AOPA's site or AirNav http://www.aopa.org/airports/ Not sure if you have to be a member of AOPA to use this link, but it's worth the $35 a year to support General Aviation. http://www.airnav.com

  11. I don't think it has foreign airports and such, but for the U.S. I use the following link: http://aeronav.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=aeronav/applications If you pull up the associated instrument procedure, for an airport (assuming that airport has one), it will have an associated airport chart for it. You can get sectionals, high / low IFR routes, IAPs, etc. with this link. Use this service while you can. The FAA had no problem putting this on it's web site and keeping the data current and up to date for FREE.....until people actually started downloading it and using it.

  12. Andyrooc posted a nice list, what I usually do when i try to find charts for specific airports I google the name of the country and AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication) or AIS(Aeronautical Information Service). Usually the first link will lead me to a directory of the country's airports and then all the charts for that airport.

  19. Hello, Name here is Bill (sparker) and the author of Xsaitekpanels. I have recieved a PM and a email about this issue and am thinking about a solution. The Current version 2.05 of my plugin supports all default aircraft in X-Plane 10.20+. Trying to cover every new addon aircraft is a task beyond what a free plugin should be asked to support. My manual clearly describes every datareference and command that I use so it is known to all who want to look. That all being said what I think a solution might be is to add remapability to the switches or buttons affected on the radio and multi panels. To do that since I do not own this aircraft I would need a list of all datareferences and commands used to even think of making this happen. My plugin is free but I do take donations and think this might help me find some time to help resolve this issue. Bill
