  1. Here comes a cockpit shot of the Beaver in XP10. Lighting looks good so far and 3D really comes alive now. This cockpit is still using modern radios with digital dispays on the co-pilot panel, but they will be replaced with older style radios soon. Fits much better to the cockpit. Hope you like the picture....

  3. HDR (High Dynamic Range) rendering is a user-settable rendering mode within x-plane that provides advanced shader features and effects like blurred engine exhaust, night lighting and atmospheric effects. It is also called "deferred rendering" which is terminology more meaningful to the programmers than the end users. So for simplicity, when we say, "HDR", we mean we have the fancy rendering effects turned on in the renderings settings of x-plane. Using HDR requires a "DX-11 compliant" video card so not all computers can use the HDR mode. Basically if you have a modern video card, it will support HDR, but how much you can squeeze out of it performance wise is dependent on the card and a matter of trial and error playing with x-plane options. HDR usually eats up some FPS when it is turned on....at least during the day. Night lighting performance is usually better. Tom K Laminar/IXEG I'm sure the download is great to you Michael, but a lot of people aren't you, particularly Mac users. A lot of products have a history of being rushed out the door come Christmas time in order to snag those Christmas sales. X-Plane is guilty of it last year and incomplete or hastily done products are not uncommon at the org there this time of year. As long as such shortcomings are disclosed, then of course that's fine and buyers can make informed decisions but personally, I think it makes x-plane add-on development look amateurish in the eyes of folks eyeballing x-plane as a purchase. Just exercise buyer beware and read the print so you know what your are or are not getting. TomK Laminar / IXEG

  5. And be of a non-sensitive nature. Wouldn't want you going all faint. Grown men have ventured into the Rant forum and come out the other end all childish when they read words not expressing love for The Org.

  9. Curse those filthy Genevans! Just because they're only the second largest city in Switzerland, the have to get all antsy and go out in the world like they're all that. Totally overcompensating.

  10. Roger!Out of curiosity i will do my own research on this. This is propably the only aircraft i have seen so far having such distinctive FD-AP relationship. You got me on this one I like that explanation Ok, although i'm not sure what xplane9 image you are talking about. Both my images are from xplane10.Now that i think of it, FD bars may not be that important if they only work in conjunction with autopilot. Sorry for the video problem. Accidentally i've set the video to private instead of non-public. You should be able to view it now.As for the problem: i'm not trying to use both VS and IAS mode at the same time. I'm trying to transition from VS climb into IAS climb.I think i've seen same problem with IAS mode when trying to use it directly from altitude hold/cap, but i will investigate it once again and let you know. Thanks for the explanation, but that's the part i think i already understand Not bad. Not bad at all. It took me 4-5 hours to get my first post in this thread ready (testing, screenshots, video, "translating" my thoughts to english etc.) Keep up good work, Javier! P.S. I don't want to scare you, but i think i'm gonna fire up X-Plane now and do some more Jetstream flying (which may result in some other "reports from the cockpit")

  11. No cold war from me John! We're just trading poster shots aren't we? Having said that I am indeed a cold war era guy ... I hope to see it soon on another sim I love.

  13. That’s good to know. The reason I asked is because I was handed a warning temp/suspension over there for nothing more than expressing my opinion on what I felt was a poor business practice. I made no mention of names, made no personal attacks and even put IMO at the end of my post that was quickly and subsequently removed. I was then dubbed a troll and told my “continuous whining was not welcome” by the admin who administered it. There’s always two sides to any coin and I’ll admit I was pretty critical of the .ORG store and how it supports the products it sells but, I made these criticisms in private not on the forum and not for anyone else (customers) to see. Turns out the developer forwarded my complaint to the .ORG store so they, the .org store, would send me a new or direct link to the update I was upset about being late to receive. (and when it did arrive it didn’t work) That person at the .org store turned out to be the Admin who hair triggered my suspension obviously for the criticism I made in private about his/their said business practice. He also told me during my admonishment that it’s a free country and I could take my business elsewhere. I intended to do just that. Considering I spend a significant amount of money to support my hobby I consider this their loss not mine. The major criticism I had is the way they handle support via email links and attached files through the external program “Usend it”. Emails address’s change and messages get missed. There is no place for me to just “go get” the update to the product I purchased, they don’t post a link or pin the file to download at my leisure. Instead I’m at their mercy to send it to me and then update. IMO that’s not a good practice Moreover, when they have offered free scenery with the purchase of a product etc. they don’t or didn’t provide the link to it. I had to email them and ask them to send it to me. Not that big of a deal but still not very user friendly but since it comes in the form of an attachment and not a downloadable link affiliated with your account you can’t go back and re-download it later if your system crashes or you upgrade. Again not a huge deal since I save all my files to an external hard drive but certainly not very elegant. I’m looking for a place that I can get a little less bias/censored view and a place to purchase my add-on’s with a comfortable level of support. I have purchased here in the past, LES DC3, and KILM and look to do more business in the future as more products become available that I want. Furthermore, I certainly noticed a direct link here to the patch I required over at the .org that I was supposed to wait for a link to? and what this spat was all about? That certainly won’t happen again. Don’t let my post count fool you; I’ve been simming for a long time. I’m not a troll, nor a whiner, I don’t have any agenda against the .org store I’m just a dissatisfied consumer looking for a more comfortable place to hang my hat if your experience with them has been better than mine, cool.
