If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original TBM 900 download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version! The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Improvements / New Features: Aircraft will automatically default to the X-Plane experimental FM Performance improvements to panel rendering code should result in less CPU time being eaten up every frame. Integrated new GCU478 keypad commands for stock G1000 integration. Migrated to new OpenAL 1.21.0 build to resolve some issues with the Default audio device sometimes not being detected properly on Windows. Added option to disable popup clickspots in VR under "Configure Visual Effects". Added support to blink the MIC light on the audio panel when using xPilot. New command mappings INI for RSG hardware. Bug Fixes: Window centering would sometimes cause a window to appear off-screen. LOC/VOR arming could crash due to a NAN value being attempted to be filtered. Additional hardening against somebody engaging stock X-Plane autothrottle. Reduced engine oil quantity life, because we should be burning oil a bit faster. Increased engine oil quality lifetime, the oil should last a LONG time. TAS system hardening in case NAN values are returned by X-TCAS. Bottom TCAS antenna wasn't touching the fuselage. Engine torque display on EICAS wasn't correcting for X-Plane TP engine model quirks. Nav data parser wasn't compatible with new X-Plane 11.50 navaid format, breaking the localizer receiver. DME range wasn't being displayed AoA indicator was black Rain effect should work under Vulkan (might require selecting "Low"). Incorrect logical inversion could wreck havoc in autopilot CDI switchover logic. MacOS: Bumped macOS deployment target to 10.13, since 10.12 is no longer supported. Fixed rain effect not appearing in the right eye in VR under Vulkan Fixed the HUD bleeding through the glareshield. UI scaling would break rendering in the Maintenance Manager. Mac build would crash due to querying non-existent OpenAL context for error information Mouse interaction with the oxygen mask wasn't correct when using UI scaling. Librain fix for ice effect flickering in the left eye in VR. Climb/cruise torque bugs aren't supposed to go away when gear deployment signal is missing. Enjoy these latest updates, and stay tuned to the forum as we continually announce the latest happenings.1 point

Finally got around to doing a few flights with the MU-2 in XP12. For clarity, I am using CapitanCrash's modified airfoil configurations and tweaks, so I *have* modded the ACF file - that shouldn't invalidate these observations, but if it does, so be it (none of them have anything to do with the flight model, which for the most part feels fine). Of course, as always, I apologize for any of these that have already been reported! (I did look through the first six or so pages of the forum to check) Here's what I've seen thus far. Things that may not be bugs but seemed off to me: 1. With Continuous Ignition set to off (as per the procedures in the real manual; I don't see anything about what to set it to in the TOGA Sim checklist), the engines will never light off. I've thus far only tested this while doing the NTS check during start, as I have not done a "second flight of the day" yet. I will check the next time I fly. What happens is, per the normal NTS check startup procedure you hold Unfeather, then hold Start the starter spins, fuel flow comes in, EGT comes up ever so slightly (if it's simulated I assume just from compression heating) but the starter light never engages and the fuel never ignites - *until* you release the Unfeather button. At that point the light comes on, and the start continues seemingly normally. As far as I've gathered I'm pretty sure ignition is supposed to come on on its own during the startup sequence - that's one of the things the Run-Crank-Stop switch does (since putting it to Crank disables ignition and/or fuel introduction?). But that's just from my reading of the manual, maybe I'm wrong! in contrast, the start goes as expected (including the NTS check) as long as continuous ignition is on in some way (generally Auto) 2. The Glass version of the plane flies on the GPS just fine in NAV mode, without using GPSS Roll Steering. This one I assume is expected behavior... However the Roll Steering button still exists on the panel. 3. The Glass version can track the G500 Vertical Speed bug in VS mode whereas the other models do not have this function and only hold the VS you have at time of engagement. This also may be expected? I'm not complaining, despite being fine with control-wheel steering options in most planes in this one it seems awfully janky, almost like the AP isn't quite trimmed out despite it being trimmed when I hand control over to it (this could be realistic, I'm not sure), so I am happy to have a proper VS mode where I can dial it in. 4. The toe brakes feel like they take half a second or more to apply even with the brake rate thing in the settings set to 0.01. I have hardware toe brakes and I'm used to getting basically a one-to-one mapping of brake force to pedal position. In the MU-2, even if I slam them to full, I don't get any indication they're applied at all for a short period of time (at which point they lock up as expected). Maybe this is normal. 5. Static elements (chocks, pitot covers, yoke lock) don't appear to persist after quitting the sim. Maybe intended, but seems a bit odd if so - what's the point of simulating them if I have to put them on before I take them off on my walkaround? Things that are probably bugs: 1. There is no clickspot/manipulator for the command rsg/g500/cmd/mfd/knob_push for the Glass version. I can get around this by mapping a key in the interim. 2. I cannot monitor NAV idents. Clicking the buttons on the audio panel does nothing. (I wanted to do this as I noticed some interesting behavior on the needles at extreme distance from a VOR, and was curious if you had implemented libradio into the plane; I'm guessing not since the DME doesn't seem fuzzy at all, but noticed this bug while I was at it) 2a. (There might be other issues there, but the NAV idents are the only one I've confirmed) 3. The audio panel does not light up except for the marker sensitivity lamps. I have seen this one was reported and confirmed already, but just for posterity... This is the case in both the GNS and Glass variants. 4. The flight timer on the transponder unit displays 60 in the seconds field for a half second or so after 59, before switching to 00 as it should. For example, the time going from 00:39:59 to 00:40:60 before switching to 00:40:00. 5. in the GNS version, the yoke shaker animation plays every few seconds with battery power on. I did not notice it happening once the engines were on or generators were on the bus, but I did not test properly so I don't have details for you. Update: saw it happening during taxi. So generators were definitely on bus. No sound, just the animation. This does not happen in the Glass version Yes it does. 6. You already know about the slow reverse application, especially noticeable while adding reverse after touchdown. But I've seen it as well! 7. The yoke lock prevents you from showing/hiding the yoke with the clickspot. I neglected to test the keybind. It doesn't matter what state it was in when you put the lock on (showing or hidden), but you can't change it at that point until you remove the lock. 8. In the GNS version at least (neglected to test in the Glass version), after using GPSS roll steering in a flight and then disconnecting the AP without switching back to regular heading mode, the GPSS roll steering lamp stays lit even after the battery is turned off. 9. I noticed that the two custom commands for "add_left/right_roll_trim" don't appear to work. Instead I just mapped the default roll trim commands and they worked as expected. Finally, not bugs at all, but just questions. Are there datarefs/commands for the pitch wheel and roll knob on the autopilot? I wouldn't mind lacking a controllable VS mode if I could just leave it in Pitch mode and control it manually with external hardware (the virtual wheel is just a bit of a pain, my own issue, I know). I see a pitch wheel command in the documentation but it doesn't appear to work, and I don't see anything for roll. Thanks Tom! No hurry of course, I think I'd prefer having the old 737 back in my sim versus these little issues I can work around here!1 point

Hi Pils, wilco. I installed the plane again in xplane 11 as I wanted to take her up in the skies. Meanwhile it is late here in Belgium and it is time to call it a night. I will reinstall into XPlane 12 and remove the plugins tomorrow, providing new logs here Tnx for the follow up John1 point

I have lost count of the number of 3rd party developers who are deeply unhappy with the way LR has mismanaged XP12. Absolutely appalling. These devs are not going to sit and wait for LR to sort themselves out. Many see good opportunities in the MSFS world & they are entitled to take advantage of them to earn some money.1 point

It is pretty clear Austin has been perfectly happy operating in the background of MSFS since inception, and has no illusions of keeping up with the MS juggernaut in whatever direction they are heading. The only difference, as mentioned in his latest interview, is that it now takes a team of 25 instead of 3 to achieve his next goals for the sim. I do wonder if revenues can support this large a team with new versions coming out every 4-5 years.1 point

Lincoln county airport is the main hub for Air Nevada. I will looking forward to returning home. I have made an airport scenery for Lincoln County Airport and down the road you will be able to see my Virtual house. This is the first VA run by a husband and a wife. My wife and I run this VA. She is the CEO of Air Nevada. I travel from airport to airport. The airport I land at is the one I take off from. No teleporting. And I do this in small aircraft. In three years I have over 2000 flights and over 4000 flight hours. Flight simulation is my life. Fly everyday, all day. I feel I am one of the best simulation pilots. I test my skills every day on the IVAO network with live ATC. Flying as real as it gets.1 point

Agreed. The questions did not push him. Maybe the next interview, wherever that might be will. BTW: I am impressed with Austin, LR and X-Plane, as well as 3rd party devs who deliver high-end products. I remember when AOL and Yahoo dominated the internet. Sears dominated retail sales. I even remember when Lotus 123 and dBase dominated software sales. The point is, org's domination is not carved in stone. As for Cameron and the X-Pilot.com site, I think he might be open to volunteer help as long as the volunteers is seriously willing to make a commitment and is competent. If all C did was maintain the site it might look different. Turns out C is heavily involved in development, as far as I can tell. I began drafting a letter to LR asking for an interview. However, I decided I might be overstepping.1 point

Sad but true, the .org site dominates the X-plane world. I wish @Cameron would being some that over to X-pilot.com. One area I would like to see is the scenery developers like MisterX over here at X-pilot.com and others I can not name. If I knew how the get in touch with MisterX, I would invite him over here, but I don't know how. Already gave my rant about .org sh#$ hole.1 point

I hope you'll not completely give up on X-Plane (assuming your issue is with XP12). I might suggest taking a break for the moment while LR roll out more updates. I understand your frustrations. I have had more CTD with XP12 than with any XP11 updates (I came in on XP11.2 I believe). However, since the last XP12 update I can complete more than 90% of the flights, maybe more. I still have occassional CTD's. For some reason I can't fly the CL650 in Non-Persistent mode for CTDs. I had to roll back my Nvidia drivers to a much older version to avoid Windows crashes, which occurred randomly with or without the sim running (ASUS TUF Z690 motherboard). Anyway, I've read through enough flight sim forums to learn that a lot of us have been where you are. Keep an eye out for the next XP12 update and give XP another try then. There's a great deal more satisfaction in TO and Landing in XP, IMO.1 point

No closed beta, and no plans to call it an open beta at this time. While its been a lot of work porting things over, its been more about calibration of the flight model, flight testing and accomodating some new datarefs than a massive overhaul of the entirety of the system. We'll be on 'rapid standby' after release to address obvious issues though and get critical patches out quickly. -tkyler1 point

I'm campaigning for this to Laminar.....the ability to exclude light sources from reflective surfaces...but as of this moment, I don't believe we can. I'll squeeze in a quick report here also. Just completed all the interior cabin texturing....at least 99.5% of it....and now I'm working on the lighting for the rear galley. Lighting for cabin/front galley already done. Next week some time I'll begin the final punchlist items list and we'll start looking to wrap things up to package for release...that's not an overnight step, lots of checks have to be made, but we're definitely coming to the end of this V12 port + process. I'm going to start calling this the "V12 compatibility patch + (plus)"....becuase its exactly that. A port of the existing V11 functionality to V12, PLUS a few extra 3D stuffs thrown in. I want to make sure people understand this isn't some "V2" with all new 3D throughout, revised FMS/VNAV etc.....that work comes after this release...this is to get folks flying the 733 in V12. Here's a update screenshot of the new cabin/rear galley....the works that's been going on the last 4 weeks. -tkyler1 point

As others I invested heavily in Xplane 11 and eventually bought Xplane 12. Whilst I enjoy flying airliners in 12 the lack of scenery for vfr flights and the fact that my favourite TBM 900 remains some way away from xp12 means I now use both. GA flights including hot start CL650 I run on xp11 and run commercial jets like TollissA321 on xp12 as well as CL650. If orbx and plane developers don’t catch up and xp11 does not get supported then my hobby will die with xp11 Shame as xp12 has some great plus points Water on the runway and better clouds is not enough.1 point

Havnt touched XP11 since 12 came out, in fact it no longer resides on my PC. 12 is perfectly useable, for every 1 person saying is so bad, there is probably 10 out there in silence happily flying it1 point

Plenty of good aircraft for Xplane12. Freeware Zibomod is consitently being improved, the A330 is getting a freeware update. Citation X is very good. Than we have Airfoil KA350, Citation 560XL, first release but pretty good . FJSQ400, stll needs some optimizing, Just flight Dr400, TB10,20, C152, Thandra have a few I believe Kodiak is in the pipe line right now, All Vskylabs are XPLANE 12 and he has a lot, X-craft will be releasing theres soon, plenty there if you look, waiting on the 737 from here1 point

Anyone know if its possible to change a field at the TOP of the display (magenta ones) to show ETE to Dest ? (instead of next way point) thanks1 point

I had left X-Plane 12 alone for a while & started it up again a few days ago. What a mess! It updated to version 12.04. But 12.05 betas are also available. So more fixes are coming. I launched the ZIBO 737 & XP12 promptly crashed, something about vulkan. The workaround is to start in another aircraft & then switch to the ZiBO. And that seems to work, except that the performance is really bad. Xlua seems to be taking a large amount of fps away. I switched to the A330. Then I find out that the A330 has issues & is getting fixes from LR as XP12 fixes are rolled out. Meanwhile, there are aircraft & non-aircraft add-ons/plugins that are still in limbo & no news on if they're going to be updated to work on XP12. If I were a developer, I'd be tearing my hair out. At this rate, it's going to take a year before XP12 is actually usable. Back to XP11 it is. Just WOW!-1 points

Maybe I want to talk about. X-plane 12 needs alot work. That's why MSFS2020 is kicking x-plane 12's A@# in sales. X-plane 11 is the best simulator on the market today. Until x-plane 12 does something???? Will X-plane 12 be able to match MSFS2020 in sales when complete? Time will tell.-1 points
