Yeah, I love it when manuals are clear and concise and leave no room for misinterpretation. Here is my favourite one: Quote: There appears to be some confusion over the new pilot role titles. This notice will hopefully clear up any misunderstandings. The titles P1, P2, and Co-Pilot will now cease to have any meaning, within the BA operations manuals. They are to be replaced by Handling Pilot, Non-handling Pilot, Handling Landing Pilot, Non-Handling Landing Pilot, Handling Non-Landing Pilot, and Non Handling Non-Landing Pilot. The Landing Pilot, is initially the Handling Pilot and will handle the take-off and landing except in role reversal when he is the Non-Handling Pilot for taxi until the Handling Non-Landing Pilot, hands the handling to the Landing Pilot at eighty knots. The Non-Landing (Non-Handling, since the Landing Pilot is handling) Pilot reads the checklist to the Handling Pilot until after Before Descent Checklist completion, when the Handling Landing Pilot hands the handling to the Non-Handling Non-Landing Pilot who then becomes the Handling Non-Landing Pilot. The Landing Pilot is the Non-Handling Pilot until the "decision altitude" call, when the Handling Non-Landing Pilot hands the handling to the Non-Handling Landing Pilot, unless the latter calls "go-around", in which case the Handling Non-Landing Pilot, continues Handling and the Non-Handling Landing Pilot continues non-handling until the next call of "land" or "go-around", as appropriate. In view of the recent confusion over these rules, it was deemed necessary to restate them clearly."2 points

Tony is right - and so is his fiancee (give her a kiss for me, will ya?) My brother is complaining that he only got two stripes, though - oh well, if he shapes up a bit with his flying, who knows, maybe a rank progression is going to come his way? If he could only stop looking around the cockpit and concentrate... Jan2 points

It's Jan and his brother ! (of course Jan's the good looking one, so says my fiancee hehe (move mouse over the green box with the white arrow on and click it Jan)) I must admit i do like the detail in the two, another immersion factor with all things considered, some renditions of peoples faces/features in certain games etc kinda make them into gremlin lookalikes lol Have Fun Tony2 points

Ive decided that In honor of my homeland and the events going on in Ukraine today, I will be converting a freeware Kiev-Boryspil airport scenery from fsx and give full credit to the authors. I have contacted the authors and I'm waiting for their answer. Meanwhile, I started working on it for myself but will upload it if I get permission. If I don't, Ill start making a scenery of my own from scratch and distribute when done (bottom-line a Kiev Scenery is coming). After converting with fs2xp initially, there were some minor faults and a few major ones. I will be replacing the gates with Autogates, placing accurate static aircraft, and fixing up the apt.dat. My plan is that when this scenery is done, It will come with a 767-300ER livery of the official Ukrainian Airline, Ukraine International (Which I'm currently making myself) Screenshots will go up tomorrow. <UPDATE> Scenery has been released after collar with original authors. Please download here.1 point

Hi, Should the TAT indicator in the center instrument panel (non steam guages) be blank when the temperature is 0 degrees Celsius? Also, when changing the units to Fahrenheit (in X-plane weather screen) then 31 deg F will display a minus sign, but with no numeric value in the display. 32 deg F will once again display nothing. I can't fly like this...1 point

Hi, it is modeled - but right now it can not be seen because the 5th stage has been beefed up by us to provide more air during testing prior to release. It turned out that our model was not able to maintain cabin pressure running on only one engine at higher altitudes - before the 9th stage would open, the volume got too low. We could have tuned to make the 9th stage open at a higher PSI level - but this didn´t work according to the videos I made from the real plane, so as a stopgap measure we simple increased 5th stage pressure output. We may tune this at a later stage. In the real airplane you can sometimes feel it getting suddently warmer in the cabin during descents - the 9th stage opens, and the bleed air is considerably warmer than from the 5th stage. So before the AC system gets a chance to react, it first gets noticeably warmer... Jan1 point

yes, flying the approach glide like a rollecoster will make it go crazy as well1 point

It's also the cost of about three fully priced payware aircraft a year, and I can guarantee you that you'd enjoy the three aircraft more on VATSIM than if you spent the money on a PE subscription. I also dislike that PE seems to be a rather cultish community where they see PE as the only service worth using and look down on VATSIM and IVAO users just because they're free services and aren't always online (but at least we get coverage outside of ZLA)1 point

I would disagree a bit with you on the Pilot Edge thing. Having a lot of real world experience, I thought that PE would be great, as they try to simulate real ATC procedures. While this is a good concept, it falls flat when you start to see how they do it. The positive of guaranteed ATC coverage during open hours, in my opinion is overshadowed by the unrealistic combining of frequencies. I'm sure people who are only simulator fliers enjoy the nonsensical frequency combining, and don't care that you can be on the CLNDEL freq at KSAN, and hear aircraft being vectored at KLAX. To those people, chatter is chatter is chatter. To a certificated pilot, who PE is ultimately marketed to, that type of frequency shenanigan is a deal breaker. The first time I flew on PE, I kept checking my radios because I thought I had the wrong frequency dialed in, or I had COM2 hot. Lastly, the service area is small. I got bored making the same short hop flights over, and over, and over, and over. Whey you're first working them out, it's fun to learn the nuances of the procedures of southern California airspace. Once you get comfortable with it, it becomes less than fun because it's the same routes. I'm glad I did the two week trial. I almost made the mistake of signing up for real and paying for it without doing the free preview first. Maybe this is nitpicking too, but the controllers are no better than the best Vatsim controllers, and frankly, they are a bit over the top. In my years of flying, I've never really dealt with controllers that act the way the PE controllers do. So, in a nut shell, for me, PE is a good concept, just poorly executed. Tim1 point

Just wanted to say that flying the IXEG 737 using VATSIM really makes you feel like you're really flying the line! What an experience, it's almost like really flying. If you're an aspiring pilot, student, or real pilot, VATSIM and the IXEG 737 combination is a real winner. One of these days I'll try Pilotedge, but for now VATSIM is great.1 point

Maybe we should have realistic coffee "drain" times on the cup, call the cabin crew to get a refill...1 point

It is already available for download on a Ukrainian Website after a collaboration with a Ukrainian team to convert it. You can download it here, there is our X-Plane version. Enjoy! P.S. There are many other sceneries available, But none of them have to do with me.1 point

Did a lot of overlay work today with taxiway and runway edits from the initial conversion. Static Aircraft and autogates come last, but right now I am working on optimizing the scenery for V10 (such as lighting) and making it plausible. In the conversion some terminal textures were misplaced but they are all back now. Still some work left to do: Teasers: Once again this is not my scenery, just my conversion and upgrades. Terminals, taxiways, objects, and underlay are credit to the Flight Simulator Interskystudio. EDIT: More images added and spell check xD1 point

Okay, I was gone a few days but today I finally got an email from the original authors giving me permission to convert their scenery to X-Plane. Besides a conversion, I want to perfect the ramp starts, apt.dat, and ground textures. From now on, I'll be going full steam with this project and hopefully will deliver a quality scenery for X-Pilot. Along with the scenery, I'll include a Ukraine International livery for Michael Chang's 767-300 AWL and the Flight Factor 777-200ER. Release date is set for the last week of June. EDIT: wrote "July" instead of "June"1 point
