It will be another hotfix, but most likely the last one before the first real "traditional" patch which includes more than just code fixes. The hotfix is ready except for one item (VNAV descent speed limit overhaul) - and we figured it would be well worth holding off another day or two if we can get this in. If it turns out to take too long, we will release the hotfix without that. Jan3 points

Received this email today from Tanguy. Awesome photo, so I thought I'd share it (with permission) I'm a B737 pilot with more than 1500h on B737/300/400/500W and wanna congrat IXEG for the amazing product you created. Im Very impresed with the fidelity. Still some minor bugs and fix but its awesome. Attached is a pic for you guys. Kind Regards! Tanguy1 point

Would also like to say a big thank you to IXEG team for the 737, from the protruding insulation tape under the MCP to the way the master caution seems rest in a random position after every press. The cockpit visuals are the best I have seen and the sounds that really add to the immersion. The 737 for me hitting a sweet spot between old and new technologies being able to VNAV LNAV auto land one day and VOR and hand fly another day. Looking forward to new features and updates. Maybe we should have realistic coffee "drain" times on the cup, call the cabin crew to get a refill...1 point

You can make some "educated" guesses based on the annual reports of certain airlines. For example, Southwest (w/ mixed fleet of classics and NG) had operating costs excl fuel in 2015 of 8.61 cents per ASM, 4.54 of which was attributable to salaries, benefits, etc. If you assume a breakdown of 75% fixed salary and 25% variable (no idea if this is accurate), you'd have fixed operating cost excl fuel of 7.475 cents per ASM and variable costs of 1.135 cents per ASM. With an average stage length of 750 miles, 2 hour duration and approximately 140 seats, you get fixed cost per flight of $7850 and $600 per hour. (Then again, I know very little about airline economics so this could be completely wrong.)1 point

Greetings all. I have a solution to my problem with IXEG with fluctuations FPS at regular intervals( for example 45-33-45-33-45-31 every 7-10 seconds) In the PC I have, among other things: i7 3770K OC 4.6 Ghz and Asus Strix GTX 980Ti 6GB. So, with this did not have a problem with IXEG normally 40-55 FPS for example on KSEA (of course depending on the setting buildings, roads, traffic, etc.) I've tried several older drivers for NVidia GTX 980 - without success. I ended up at 368.29 I did some things, and maybe together that solved my problem or maybe it is all resolved only one change in the setting NVidia. All those things as elimination of the X-Plane from antivirus software and others tips I had long before the release IXEG. I used these plugins: PluginAdmin,AutoGate, CustomSBDatarefs004,Gizmo64, PythonInterface, RealWeatherConnector, SilverLining (SkyMaxxPro v3.2), SoundMaxx, X-Life, XPUIPC. I use FSGRW as weather injector. I removed prior to testing the World Traffic plugin and already currently I not use it. I changed the number of objects, shadows, traffic, etc., and I stayed in this setting (attached picture 1) Then I tried to shut down in the scenery.ini all files W2XP (SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery / 4.w2xp_Africa / America / Europe etc) It probably has no direct impact on IXEG but it has to do with setting the density of buildings and thus CPU load) But as I write above, most of the time I had no problem to have a high FPS. And now maybe the main thing that's solved my problem . Changes in the NVidia panel settings/Manage 3D Settings (Second and third image. I am sorry. Panel is in my native language) I changed: Ambient Occlusion - Performance Optimizing Threads - off Triple Buffering - off Vertical Sync - Adaptive (half the refresh rate of the monitor) I have Samsung 27" 60Hz In the previous GPU (GTX 680) after changing drivers (I can not remember the version) Were more profitable and better with setting vertical sync - off. That's why I used this setting (vertical sync- off) with GTX 980. Now I use what is written in the blue font. I now have a stable 30 FPS and perfectly smooth flight simulation without fluctuation FPS. There is still a bit of a problem when changing clouds or weather, but it is probably a problem SDK X-Plane If after this setting will be the mouse slow.Turn off in the mouse settings "shadow indicator" and increase the speed indicators. Okay. I think, it is about everything I wanted to write. Perhaps this helps someone. Sorry for my english. Just a little note 1: In me PC these changes will take effect after the restart not only X-Plane but the restart the entire computer. Just a little note 2: Before running X-Plane I use this utility from Asus "Asus GPU Tweak II" section "Gaming Booster" (The image 4) Best Regards1 point

You're right, actually the weather radar screen is the standard one: I did a lot of analysis to understand what data I do need to create a custom weather radar, what data is actually available and which kind of format, then I did some code simulations and all the results bring me to the very 'simple' conclusion that the amount of work to code a custom weather radar is huge to say the least, too huge for just one people with not too much time available (making the terrain radar is way simpler than making the weather radar). But I can say one thing: that doesn't mean that there's no chance to have a custom weather radar, I'll create it after the release of our MD-82 and before to start to work to our next plane so it will be available as an update.1 point

A little preview of the terrain radar work-in-progress: Elevations not yet considered, actually I'm working mainly to the terrain engine in order to understand which is the best way to map the area. Please remember that the terrain radar is not a device originally meant to be high def/high res as we intend today, so a low/medium res could be accepted. Actually available ranges are 10, 20, 40 and 80nm... I'm sure that further improvements are doable but I always write my code thinking at overall performances, so if I'll introduce some lags because a range extension to 160nm or a better display resolution I'll do a step back immediately.1 point

Some BIG news for the Avanti! As Icarus Team, between the other projects, we are working on a 2.0 version of the Avanti. It will include: - Powered by Gizmo64. - New manipulator technology (X-Plane 10.50+) - Visual improvements. - More in depth system simulation. - Many other "small" improvements. Of course Avanti II is and it will always be FREEWARE! Here is a couple in-progress shots of the radio unit.1 point
