  1. Yeah, we should really lower our fuel consumption... From now on only the A350, A320neo, B787 and B777 are allowed to fly in the X Plane world so we can reduce carbon emissions

  2. This is more along the lines of "what did you build today" but I also flew it as well. Well, I took off and flew around, I still haven't figured out how to land a helicopter safely in XP10. All default resources, this heliport has been submitted to the database Abbotsford Hospital and Cancer Centre, BC.

  3. If PMDG takes that long to release their 737NG, they'll be left in the dust by current XP developers. I can see Flight Factor or FlyJSim making a 737NG well within that time period.

  5. I just wish Jar Design would make an Airbus A380-800. I would never fly another aircraft again. Just imagine how nice it would be; transparent windows (a big plus for me), a FULLY modeled passenger cabin, high quality textures, amazing systems, awesome sounds, and WINGFLEX. That would be one amazing A380.

  6. So wait, hold the phone. If you tried the demo and didn't like it, why did you purchase the full version?

  9. I can't really comment on the reflections, but i feel like i have to recommend the flyjsim 732 to you. Back in the FS days i used to fly complex airliners only. The likes of PMDG, LevelD etc. While X-Plane still lacks sophisticated airliners (FF, JarDesign etc. aren't close yet, sorry), surprisingly the 727 along with it's smaller brother - the 737-200 - are planes i find myself spending most of the time with. They don't do proper engine simulation (EPR) nor have any kind of RNAV equipment installed (FMS, GPS), but still do feel most complete. Just yesterday i've "lost" half an hour calculating the weights and required fuel for 727-200F before i took her from Rovaniemi, Finland [EFRO] to Szczecin, Poland [EPSC]. And it was fun! FlyJSim 727 is a fantastic plane and the 737 is even better. And they are gorgeous by the way

  10. I am developing a freeware KBFI scenery using objects from many scenery libraries. I am using orthophoto to create the scenery and I am including every building, tree, truck, plane, and everything other detail in the KBFI area. In addition to that, the airport has very detailed photo realistic overly with an insane resolution of 7.5cm per pixel or about 3 inches per pixel. In a few months I will release a payware version with custom objects that are very accurate as well. I will also release a version with orthophoto only inside the airport boundaries for two reasons: (a) You need a BEAST of a computer to run that detail, ( the orthophotos will take up almost 3GB of space unpacked. You will need a pretty quick computer to run this in the first place because there will be between 1,000 and 1,500 objects. I will post updates. Expect a beta release within two weeks.

  11. Took the 727-200F for a 500 nm trip from Poznan, Poland [EPPO] to Tallinn, Estonia [EETN]. After a short stop, continued to Rovaniemi, Finland [EFRO]. As for the airport sceneries quality, i think X-Plane is now on par with FSX. Totally immersive for me. As for the quantity... well, Rome wasn't built in a day. For the curious: Departure from Poznan runway 28. Flown VOR-VOR. Arrival and approach into Tallinn was interesting. First a nice ARC/DME segment of arrival procedure. Then VOR approach for runway 08 and finally circle-to-land runway 26 :] Departure from Tallinn runway 28. Flown VOR-VOR. Briefed for ILS Yankee approach into Rovaniemi runway 21. Does anyone even reads this? ;] As soon as i broke out of clouds with airport situated right in front me i couldn't resist the temptation to shoot short visual approach :]

  13. I am disappointed in X-Plane 10. Read my entire post before giving any premature reply like 'you should have tried the demo'.I did, and what I have observed in X-Plane and Laminar's trend in the recent past goes way beyond the deficiencies called X-Plane 10. It is a shame that as a long time X-Plane user I have to complain about something so basic as missing rivers and major inland bodies of water. X-Plane v9 had no such issues. X-Plane 10 is now a third of the way through its major version run and still lacks basic landscape features THAT WORKED FINE in version 9. I think Laminar truly needs to return to basics and get their act together on this. Paying $70.00 for software that is worse than the version before is plain unacceptable, unfair, and just dirty corporate. I just knew the minute they started making X-Plane into a mobile gaming thing that this is going to waste major time and given that they have finite resources the true desktop application is going to suffer. And suffer it has. Not just major bodies of water are missing, but landscape terrain itself has textures that don't make sense. For example, why are there green textures atop himalayan ranges that are brown in real life and ALSO IN X-PLANE 9? What's more, we are being told that DSF recuts won't be done for the entire version 10 run? They why did you release what clearly is beta quality software? Why not at least give us back the old tiles until you are done wasting time programming explosion like gaming effects into a what was and should remain simulation/modeling software? Clearly, the quality of X-Plane reached it's height in version 9. Why do we have to pay for your software and then we are encouraged to get into development behind it as well? Like being encouraged to correct and feed data into OSM. Please fix X-Plane desktop, stop wasting time on mobile platform and gaming, get back in touch with your roots, or risk being just another simulator that came and went.
