  1. Hello, all, This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 2.1.1 update for SkyMaxx Pro. All customers who have purchased SkyMaxx Pro up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase SkyMaxx Pro from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 2.1.1 for you. What if I didn't get the update e-mail? If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviati...talog/login.php 2. View your past order history invoice that contains SkyMaxx Pro purchase on it. 3. At the bottom of the invoice you will find a blue highlighted link to your update that says: "SkyMaxx Pro". There are some important fixes and requests implemented in this update. The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Clouds viewed through transparent surfaces (cockpit glass, rotor blades, etc) will blend properly with terrain, if the model with transparency was properly modeled. Converted FSX aircraft for example may still have issues, but they would have the same problems with default clouds. 2.1.1's clouds should work as well as default clouds in this respect. The "overcast quality" setting will now affect stratus clouds as well.Stratus clouds are now allowed to be at ground levelStratus clouds with medium or high overcast quality will use soft particles for terrain blendingPerformance is improved when the sun is in viewLightning is less frequent, and thinner, in cumulonimbus clouds. As always, thanks for being a customer with X-Aviation. We appreciate your feedback and support! Enjoy these latest updates, and stay tuned to the forum as we continually announce the latest happenings.

  2. Hey folks! Lanai is underway. A few updates on university to give you an idea of what non-X-Plane stuff is on my plate and how it affects my X-Plane performance: Calculus is a b... ad and difficult course. It will consume the majority of my free time this semester. So is biology, but other than that, all my courses are cruisers - my university decided that chemistry this semester would be a review of the last year of high school and that psychology would be a friendly discussion about mullets. I have no events that will take away entire weekends of development other than a ski trip in January (eh?). Free moose included and the polar bear was only $5 extra if you rented the deluxe igloo. My new computer allows me to get hooked in unhealthy quantities on X-Plane development in the evening without getting frustrated because it crashes every five minutes. Because it doesn't. The roads around here are ugly enough (as are the people) that going anywhere with the girlfriend for trips is out of the question. The bad news is that my friends at University of British Columbia are attempting to get me addicted to online games such as Civ. Fortunately, in my books, John gets my dollar before Sid Meier. I need SkyMAXX. One more donation and I'm there.Anyways, I doubt you bothered reading any of that, but if you did, I'm sure your mind tuned out the word monkey thrown in there as individual letters in a typos. The screenshot you've all been waiting for:

  3. TCW445T "THOMAS COOK" FOUR FOUR FIVE TANGO DEP: EDDH (Hamburg, Germany) DEST: EFTP (Tampere, Finland) LEVEL: FL370 ROUTE: LUB9B LUB P605 GESKA N851 RIKUM Y370 UXETI N850 INSOB L87 AMUPO AMUPO1C ABOUT THE FLIGHT Checking Hamburg, Tampere and Helsinki (alternate) METARs i instantly realised this isn't going to be a boring flight. First some crazy winds at Hamburg gusting up to 38 knots. Then a couple of weather avoiding actions late in the climb. Thundstorms inside the approach area to Tampere were just cherries on the cake. Life of a pilot isn't easy when a massive front covers most of the continent. Even if a virtual one Happy to be safely on the ground, i learned to avoid CBs more carefully in the future... P.S. Anyone else enjoy taxing 65 ton airliner around the airport?

  4. Since the wind is really strong currently in Europe, it's time to practice some extreme crosswind take-off's and landing's Düsseldorf to Hamburg in the JarDesign 320neo Very nice forecast for Hamburg... Cruising with strong crosswinds and turbulences! Sorry Pax, no service today Approaching Hamburg with gusts up to 50!! knots!! I managed a landing that didn't kill me and my pax, but the left wing touched the runway...

  5. Thanks for the info, Jim! Was this changed in the last year or so? A while back when i first encountered this problem i'm sure i've seen some threads on the forums on this matter. With regards with what has been said above, i think i must recheck navaids range... Could it have been VOR or NDB frequency discrepancy between my charts and X-Plane navdb? I doubt it because i think i could have receive "faulty" navaid when unrealisticaly closer to it. But anyway, i'm gonna test it once again with 10.32r1 and report back.

  6. Well, I'm new to IFR and obviously have a lot to learn. 392 was in a flight planning tool that also works with another flight simulator, and 391.5 was from pilotfriend.com. No, not rude - I didn't think of looking on the local map, so it's good to know about that now. Cheers everyone!

  7. A brief update on how Kahoolawe will look with the much delayed update (I'm waiting another week because I found a good resource of a imagery for the coral reefs surrounding the island). I still have to fix the coastline to match HD Mesh 3.

  8. Current Jeppesen: The way X-Plane handles navaids at the moment (based on scenery tiles) is a bad joke. Being 40 nm from the navaid (flat terrain) and unable to receive it's signal can ruin IFR experience. I hope they are going to fix it at some point... My airport of choice when coding

  9. Alright Ben, He's learned his lesson. ;P Colin - Attach the Log.txt when convenient, and we can have a look. - CK.

  10. ... Yep - understood.. however this is why the log.txt is invaluable for us 'geeks' -- as it tells us all this stuff: XP10 Version OS Version Memory nVidia Card & VRAM Size mVidia Driver Version Plug-Ins running Selected Rendering Settings

  11. Note: There are 4 different generations of i5, and There are 20+ variants of each generation of the i5. http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/TYPE-Core%20i5.html ..which is why details matter here. (i.e. the log.txt is invaluable so we don't have to ask these questions). If you're interested, there is a widely reported stuttering issue with one of the recent nVidia drivers, under Win7 and Win8 -- hence why we were asking you the details. But, since we dont know what version you're using, it's pure conjecture here.

  14. No Log? No mention of which aircraft you're flying? No screenshot of your rendering settings? All this from a reasonably experienced member of the community. Fail.

  15. Yep - Had he same problem. To fix it, I enabled some /dev/udev rules in ubuntu, added something in the Windows Registry, and played with a .plist file in System/Library/Extensions. There were also changed 3 key X-Plane settings. And no, I cannot provide any more information than that.
