  1. I think there is plenty of room for several Boeing 737s. It's been operating since 1968, and with yet another new version in development for 2017. I've travelled on so many of the things, from family holidays on 737-200 to the present day, that it's easy to ignore them as part of the furniture. In fact they have punctuated important events throughout my life, and, if I stop and think about it, there is a lot of nostalgia attached to them. I'm sure I speak for a great many (if not all) of us. 46 years. Is that the longest production run for any airliner? The longest production run for any jet aircraft was 50 years, but the 737 will beat that — especially if the 737 MAX is successful. Studying how the 737 has changed is to map the evolution of the modern jet engine, cockpit and navigation systems. It might be ubiquitous, or boring: the "Ford Mondeo" of the stratosphere; but it's an extraordinary achievement, and one that deserves to be celebrated with many different versions in X-Plane spanning its entire history. I'm all for it. Guy.

  2. In the mood for an update on the progress of this one. It's moving along at a steady pace and things are looking very good. No ETA's on when we'll be done, but it will not take anywhere near as long as the Saab.

  4. I would never believe I would say this but that forum is totally insane! Without as much as a warning they totally blocked my account from posting, removed my pm box and restricted my access to any of the third party vendor support forums. And would you believe that they answer any wonder why messages? Well, removed all my uploads and sendt an email letting them know they can delete my forum user account for good. Let me tell you, I would be supprised if they do remove it, hope they do though I must confess I am curious to know why third party vendors uses x-plane.org as there support platform still? Guess this is not news to everybody in here, but I am still baffled over how the moderators operate in that forum totally disrespect to their members and I do believe they couldn't care less about third party vendors and their products. Anyway, glad to be out of there!

  6. The -200 variant is AFAIK not on the X-Plane market yet. It's a different beast than Classic which is a different plane than NG. Personally I AM looking forward to it and I'm not going to buy the NG. I'd buy Classic if there were no "Prehistoric" (AKA -200 or -100) available. Of course I'm a minority - but I just don't want a simulation of a flying computer. X-Plane (even with yoke and pedals) is not a real life (where I would like to have every automation possible - even at my "boring" work (software developer) I automate as much as I can - to prevent as much errors as possible), X-Plane is something what I have for an entertainment and I find more entertaining to have steam gauges, "hardware" E6B and printed maps rather than fancy iPads in front of me. I just hope that I am not the single potential buyer of the plane.

  7. Sorry, but I don't get it! ;-) The B732 and the Classic series -300,-400,-500 737's are two completely different aircraft. We have two different payware 100/200 variants, 2 versions of the classic series and 2 versions of the NG series in FSX. Right now, there is not a single decent 737 in X-Plane. So, why not be happy? And as I stated above, the FJS and the IXEG won't even simulate the same aircraft, so I am pretty sure they will coexist very well! I'll add them both to my hangar anyway!

  10. WOW! They work so fast! I'm surprised they've gotten this much done in such a short time!

  11. I think we are probably digressing substantially from the OP’s intentions for this thread but since we seem to have strayed into the minutia of aircraft type differences, then from the point of view of a pilot (which is what we simulate with these products) these are absolutely two distinct aircraft (Boeing would not have gone to the trouble of years of designing, developing and building the Classic Series if that were not the case). A pilot of a 732 cannot fly a 733 without completing an exacting transition course, also called a “Differences” course (the clue is in the title), which normally takes three days. There is no point going into what all the “differences” amount to here but with regard to the two products on offer then they are ‘horses for courses’. Any successful flight sim needs a variety of both aircraft types and levels of complexity of any particular type of aircraft. In this case take your pick and I am sure you will enjoy either one - or indeed, both. I honestly don’t believe that FJS are looking for reflected glory from the IXEG product or even necessarily consider that they are in direct competition with IXEG. From numerous comments here and elsewhere their products offer a ‘sweet spot’ of complexity and fun and their 732 will be a very different beast from IXEG’s offering - and not in a bad way. I still wish they had gone for the 707 but hope that the 732 is a stepping stone to that other iconic classic and wish them well. I will be another happy customer.

  12. Wow. So you can't see the difference between the 2 aircraft? Different Engines Different Wings Different Flight instruments No FMC in the 200 200 is shorter I will own both 737s and I will be Live streaming both.

  15. Yeah welcome to the wonderful world of a "soft ban", as someone who truly likes to walk the line with the community I was shocked that I was also banned in this way. I still show up as a member there but I cannot participate in any discussions, frustrating when you are trying to support a product...... Making a professional decision to work with X-Aviation shouldn't of resulted in that action but oh well what can you do? I got it, be a better person.....

  17. Oh guys. Why don't you just leave everybody like he is. Everyone can buy the product he wants, or not. I am personally excited for an old style 737-200 because i see them everyday in Montreal. So please excuse me but i am excited to see it realized. And if you don't agree with that it's fine for me, but please make a RANT out of this or just start another Post with the title "Why should we buy 2 737 that are not the same". I began this post for those who are interested in the 737-200. And not for people to trash the unfinished project and say that the IXEG 737 will be better. Of course it will have more in depth systems, but i enjoy to fly aircraft that are easy to get into and just look good. So please stay calm and just wait until both products are released(or not)... 23. Ok, after we've had our fun with our April Fool's joke on the Saab, it's time to bring you all up to speed with what is happening...including Citation progress. As Cameron already mentioned, systems are complete on the Saab (they have been for a little while) and all we have left is adding the custom sounds. I'm still working on the manual, however, Theo and Jim had nothing to do on the Saab, so we all decided to get started on the Citation until we get a new build of Gizmo. So here's a couple of snaps of the Citation as it is for the moment.

  25. Oh no. I've upset the fanboys. This is clearly a cheap move to take advantage of the enthusiasm built up around other products coming to market. If you can't see that maybe you should pull your head out of your collective asses. This "AMAZING OMG I JUST WET MY PANTS" product will be shallower than the kiddies wading pool, and about as nice to swim in. This won't even be 1% the quality of the other product if you're willing to wait for it. Imagine what the world would be like if we all told the truth instead of glossing shit over day in, day out, afraid to hurt someones poor widdle feelings.
