  1. for y'all , this is the first portion of the update to the 787 family, a brand new exterior. The plane's exterior definition is now the highest in X-plane for freeware Heavies (as far as i know), which is quite exciting! If i'm right, it also falls in the top 5 for definition of all heavy aircrafts (payware or freeware). At the moment, the textures are slightly higher in definition than the 777-200LR

  2. Been waiting for 2 years to buy a system capable of running X-Plane 10 and doing HD video capture (with DXTORY) at the same time. The day finally came on Black Friday when I could purchase all of the components and assemble the system. I have a CRJ-200 video that I need to edit and post, but here's a quick video of 2 laps of the pattern in the stock Baron at Bakersfield Meadows airport (KBFL), flying on PilotEdge for our ATC and traffic. Suggest 1080p fullscreen for this one!

  3. Systems done! More than 3000 lines of programming. People have to stay in limits to not break this baby!! And be careful with cabin temperature if you open the door or window you all the heat can scape!! It has really COLD and dark situations!

  5. Basically, with that setup, you will be able to run X-Plane flawlessly, max settings! It's expensive, but fair. You're paying for what you get. First off: it is the processor and the graphics card that will contribute to FPS in X-Plane, which is what you want. RAM (memory) won't. 16 GB is more than enough, 32 GB is pointless. Basically it allows you to run more programs at once without memory overload. I doubt you'll be running so many programs at the same time with x-plane, so it's useless. In fact, the setup is a bit overkill. I think you should stick with the GTX680, however. That is a beast. You don't really need the cooler x6, the standard fans are usually fine if you play in a relatively cool room. 1000watts should be enough, even if you overclock. You won't need to with the GTX680, default settings will be fine. Keep the i7, that's also very good and will last you a long time with that power. Oh, and get windows 7. It's easier to use considering x-plane actually works properly on it (unsure if it does on 8). Do it just to be safe. I'm not sure about the PCI thing, maybe some one else will be.

  6. G2XPL was the greatest thing to happen to X-Plane for me. I have over 300gb of ortho scenery from G2XPL stored inside my computer to fly around in. Here are a few samples to drool over. Have thousands of of photos like these saved and hours of video.

  7. But don't delete the peanut butter ones. I'll take those, please!

  8. Yeah I'm well impressed--it's neat. Whats most important to me is how it messes with the fps. Nice to be sitting in a nice car in a nice suburb, but without a drop of petrol, ones just stuck in a nice car in a nice suburb & going nowhere ....

  13. Michael, I am sort of glad that it will be delayed. Cant stand looking at fugly walls during those long-hauls when being confined to the cattle compartment... Um, seriously, do we sim flying biggies or are we running an interior designers competition here?

  14. Okay, i've started the updating process, main changes so far, new door textures and objects (+100 polygons) newly re-configured OH bins, with a simpler, smoother design (-260 polygons) and updated window frames. Next, i have to update the lavatory walls to higher definition, upgrade the flight attendant seat area and add a few more shadows. first ANA cabin, should be done in a few weeks, then, i will update the Ethiopian Cabin, then the Qatar Cabin, then the JAL cabin, then the UAL cabin, and hopefully, i'll get the LAN seats in soon.

  15. I just finished adding a brand new feature to the 787's wing. See, when the 787 takes off, the inboard flaperon gets pulled up by heavy hydraulic pumps to prevent exhaust and vibration damage between 30 and 80 kts, then, at 80 kts, the flaperon gets lowered back down to match the flaps, and the plane continues like nothing ever happened. the 777 also has this feature in real life.
