Finally somewhere to go other than you know where!

So here it is: I visited the absolutely stunning island of Kauai back in March and discovered that it was the most amazing place on earth to fly. I never did get the honor to fly in a helicopter over the majestic mountains and valleys, but the hiking I did said enough. Kauai as it is presented in X-Plane 10, even with AlpilotX's awesome HD2 Mesh, simply doesn't do the real thing any justic with its pine trees and temperate ground textures. The real Kauai calls for even deeper greens than those found in the original version 9 texture packages. The first clue was that everything was yellow-grey-green. I will be using my own photographs as well as free online resources for the development of this project. Some of it will be legaly redistributed freeware components, but most will be absolutely original. I unfortunately own no orthophotos, so if you do or know someone who does, please notify me because it would render this project the greatest ever created. That being said, my plan is to create orthophotos that fit just right onto the still slightly inaccurate X-Plane 10 terrain. If you are any good at 3D modelling that is all I really could use a bit of backup on since there will be a lot of it. I want at least 100 different houses to build my neighbourhoods out of and I plan to build hotels the way they look. Don't expect this project to even show a hint of progress until mid September, if it's any earlier I'll be drunk with a hippo dancing to Justin Bieber (and that's me dancing, not the hippo). Hello, Pilots!, X-Pilot is pleased to announce the opening of our new Download File Library! This will serve as a place to upload your creations, including aircrafts, sceneries, and liveries. There are a few features in place to make this work and keep a quality standard upheld, as we want this to be organized and "easy" on our community members. Firstly, when you upload a file it will be placed into a queue for one of our designated File Library managers to approve. In the approval process, the managers will verify the description, file uploaded, screenshot, and other information provided with the upload. The approval process is expected to be relatively quick after a file has been submitted. Once a file is submitted and accepted by a library manager, the file will be publicly visible and a topic will be auto-created and linked from the file to a topic in the new File Library forum. This forum may also serve as a place for support for files, as well as an alternative way to seek out files you may be interested in as a downloader in the community. We will have more to announce soon, but for now we wish you happy uploading and downloading, and would like to thank everyone in the X-Pilot community for their continued support! Just another approach , painting this bird , it looks like I cannot stop doing it. Creating extra windows ,doors and hatches, its a special sport. A bit of painting and bumpmapping. This is the view of the mountains from the top of Gibson's Pass Skihill. It looks exactly like real life.

DOH! You can see how much I use that feature for non-repeating draped polygons! Thanks Chris. I used draped objects for this kind of stuff.

My latest creations are taking to the sky! (imagine spaceshipone and white knight in the sky, sorry i had to wipe my screenshots because I had no more room...)
