Low visibility, MVFR flights like this are my favorite ones to see.
kiofka Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I took C74s retextured C150 over KTCY for some quick touch and go review...A simple aircraft to handle with a lot to offer for training.
WombatBoy Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Terrible weather out on the eastern seaboard today.
Simmo W Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Pretty cold and overcast over Reno today!Apologies if your are particularly religious, I think I've found the new Holy Trinity - The Rex, The Mentor and the Reno ;DDarned traffic on the way home!
RealScenery Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Awesome pics, Sir Simon! ;DAssuming you're flying with real weather? Reno has been getting a lot of clouds from the same storm systems that have been causing all the rain and flooding in southern California. I love BKN/OVC screenshots! Thanks for posting these!Looks like you're having fun and found a great combo with the mentor. That's a very appropriate aircraft to fly since the famous Reno Air Races are held there and attract a lot of highly modified warbirds.http://www.airrace.org/graphics/photooftheday/091910_large.jpg'>http://www.airrace.org/graphics/photooftheday/091910_large.jpgAs a fan of GT, the air races are the world's fastest motorsport!http://www.airrace.orgThese air races are held at none other than Reno-Stead field!
Simmo W Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Yessir, real weather, adds another layer of 'being there'.
kiofka Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 The Texan II T6, by Raytheon Beechcraft.Somebody was asking about other Texans available...Flys fast and shoots fire from it's nostrils. Oh yeah, there is another!
MaidenFan Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 I've been flying a new fun approach I made up today. It was pretty tricky, but anything is possible with the Sundowner.
whiskeyportal Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Been flying the Turbo Goose mostly since it was added to FSEconomyDid this paint for my charter company
Simmo W Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 The Javelin lets me cover more of Reno quicker!Just what are these farms? or crop circles?!
woweezowee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I like the last one. Had a great flight at sunset.
woweezowee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 And here's a "real" cockpit picture ;D
Simmo W Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Wow, Wow, that first pump pic looked almost real on my iPhone!
RealScenery Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 The Javelin lets me cover more of Reno quicker!Wow - you'll be over Reno in a heartbeat with that plane, Simon!Just what are these farms? or crop circles?!Assuming you're asking a serious question, ;D those are irrigation pivots; huge irrigation systems that have a pivot in the center of a circular field. Here's a shot from the state of Washington scenery:You'll see a lot more of these in the NorCal scenery, too.
Goran_M Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I've been flying a new fun approach I made up today. It was pretty tricky, but anything is possible with the Sundowner.I actually did a grass landing in a Sundowner after my first few lessons about 13 years ago. Scared the living crap out of me when the instructor did it first, but wasn't so bad after that.
whiskeyportal Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 And here's a "real" cockpit picture ;DWhat program is that moving map you have running on the laptop?
woweezowee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 That's "Skycharts Pro" for the iPad.
whiskeyportal Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Oh ok, I have that on my iPhone 4. I've never been able to get it to work correctly though
woweezowee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 It had a bug for quite some time and wouldn't work with XP9.62. It's fixed. Try again. Setup is easy and it is totally worth the effort and money. You have all US charts (VFR, IFR, TAC, Airport Layouts, Approaches....), metar, and even a basic flight planner.
