Mario Donick Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) bah, context lost, deleted. Nooo ... it was good! Because it summarizes very good how we all want that Saab! And how we are waiting! (Although, honestly, a Saab 340 is not actually equivalent to a Porsche ). Edited September 8, 2013 by Mario Donick 1
Ben Russell Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Can't have people taking it all too seriously, now can we? 2
ilias.tselios Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Amazing staff gentlemen! Are all that ... Gizmo?
Cameron Posted September 8, 2013 Author Report Posted September 8, 2013 Are all that ... Gizmo? The entire study level simulation is, yes. Limitless, to say the least. 1
ilias.tselios Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 The entire study level simulation is, yes. Limitless, to say the least. I thought so! Have to look at it for the DC-9.
pryoski Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 Now that's what I call a bombshell of a news item there Cameron! Excellent timing and brilliant content ... I think I've already said (multiple times) that I'm really looking forward to this plane.
frankbyte Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) Do the Saab 340 have an FMC as well? Or how do work the navigation? Edited September 9, 2013 by frankbyte

AtomicFrawg Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) Do the Saab 340 have an FMC as well? Or how do work the navigation? As far as the photos show, they did not put in a FMC. Looks like VOR nav only at first. Start brushing up on your Nav skills. Edited September 9, 2013 by AtomicFrawg
frankbyte Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 can you explain this reaction? Some of the Saab 340 had FMS or GPS-systems. So i think the one who is stupid here...
frankbyte Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 As far as the photos show, they did not put in a FMC. Looks like VOR nav only at first. Start brushing up on your Nav skills. OK, thanks. So we will have to put the Universal FMC inside
AtomicFrawg Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 OK, thanks. So we will have to put the Universal FMC inside Or you can use VOR navigation. This is a good skill to learn, FYI.
Cameron Posted September 9, 2013 Author Report Posted September 9, 2013 can you explain this reaction? Some of the Saab 340 had FMS or GPS-systems. So i think the one who is stupid here... This question has been asked and answered multiple times. The 340A, both in sim and in real life, is not equipped with an FMS.

All you would have to do is read a bit of the threads about the Saab 340A and you would have known the answer before you posted the question.
AtomicFrawg Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 or watch the video which shows the entire cockpit
Ben Russell Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 People read forums? I am truly shocked. All these years... 1
PWJT8D Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 People read forums? I am truly shocked. All these years...Only by accident. It's kind of like how old people drive. They aren't really sure how they got to where they are and it is nowhere near where they wanted to go. Now hours are spent just trying to get back to where you needed to be. 1

The 340A, both in sim and in real life, is not equipped with an FMS.OK but i really didnt found anything about this. But i admit not having read alle hundreds posts about this aircraft. For the second part of your answer: in fact an FMS or GPS could be integrated in this aircraft, since i found posts of real pilots having used an FMS in the Saab 340. But it is not standard-equipment, that's right. But it would perhaps be an idea for an option in the future ;-) Edited September 10, 2013 by frankbyte
