Hi Goran, Sorry to bring this topic back to life but this weekend a very busy online controller decided to vector me and do what controllers do, you know, sequencing lots of planes to land. In this very busy stage of flight, the wind changed and so the runway and having to reconfigure the systems and rebrief my landing I've spent lots of time and nerves trying to set heading as requested by ATC, and there were so many requests that I came up far behind to the plane just because I could not easily set heading. All of this is just to point out that those two knobs (CRS and HDG) are vital for flying the plane and the access to it in the sim need to be as fast and ease as possible. Today take too much time to precisely place the mouse pointer in the right spot in order to use the scroll wheel and any movement of the mouse while setting a new heading will kick zoom in and more time will be spent. The plane is great and many things have being improved in the last updates but this is still a MAJOR ISSUE and is really compromising my flights, Cheers Ricardo

Hi Goran, Anyway I still can not remove the oxygen mask if the UI size is set to 150%. Do you believe is something that can be fixed by your side in the future? Cheers Ricardo

HI I run X-Plane in 1440p so the most comfortable UI size is 150% but if I put the oxygen mask in with this setting I just can't remove it after that. What I do to remove it is lowering down the UI Size to 100% Before this current upgrade what happened in this situation was a double mask being rendered. Now this do not happen but again there is a few more tweaks needed. Thank you Ricardo

Buttons should be "mixture up a bit" and "mixture down a bit" or something like that. I would like to have it set to an axis too but to be honest works really good with buttons

Will do that but results may be very unreliable since this CTD happened just once and may never happen again. I guess I will remove Xsquawkbox first because it seems to be bugged and was the last I've installed, it's my main suspect, and then I'll see if happens again

I was running through the log file and could not find any message error so it probably crashed before having time to log the problem, weird. Fact is that I disable all unused plugins before start the flight and in this particular I was offline so disable both, Vatsim and IVAO. I saw that last lines in Log was referring to something related to a network ATC but I could not identify which one. Isn't it the xplane default ATC? Sorry to bother you Goran but can you help me identify which was so I can uninstall it?

Me too There is probably some issue on the server because it was working not long time ago when I tried that. I usually do not fly over US so I'm not monitoring this system often

Well, to be fair with HotStart both bad behavior came from X-Plane 11 and we should continue pissing off Austin until it got fixed. The two main issue with XP11 IMO BTOH Toto and Goran are very skilled guys and could minimize or fix this, if possible. But I agree with you, Hotstart TBM has this issues and I don't think reflects how real aircraft behaves.

One thought I would like to share with you guys. X-Plane 11 is known for it's disastrous ground handling, at least in GA which is what I fly exclusively. My second favorite plane is the default Baron which is as terrible as the TBM in crosswinds either landing or taking off . I've ruined many nice flight in this situation, but I found out a great improvement. Baron allows me to set an axis for the Tiller and I happen to have a spare axis in my HOTAS for that. With that set the rudder pedal acts just the vertical primary aerodynamic control excluding the front wheel. It's way less sensitive to inputs and makes life way easier. Unfortunately I couldn't set the tiller for TBM like that but IMO is a good suggestion for future updates Cheers

It's ease to roll this baby on the runway if you have no crosswinds. With 7kt side wind it becomes a nightmare, almost like any other GA acft in X-Plane (maybe a bit worst actually). But for landing is a bit worst since if AP brings you close to threshold it usually gets your yaw trimmed almost all way to one wind side and its fine but for some stupid reason LR made it behave more aggressive in the ground and it's very hard to keep the line. My next experiment with this issue would be centering the trim after disengaging the AP and control the yaw on the rudder manually to land. I guess I can have a better results Today I have minimal expectation to perform a straight run after landing in crosswind conditions, which is sad Why don't you guys try this experiment too and let me know. I need to set some buttons for the rudder trim in the joystick tho Cheers

Goran is right. Usually the higher you fly the better mileage you get but you may check how is the wing conditions at FL310 and maybe is worth to fly lower I use to check Windy for that https://www.windy.com/?300h,-18.182,-46.686,8

Descending VNAV in G1000 is a bit tricky. Procedures are: Set altimeter to a lower altitude of what your flying and preferably lower then your next waypoint Set the desired angle of descent or VS pressing VNV PROF Engage AP's VNAV not more then 5 minutes before TOD. At 1 minute before you will get visual reference on the altimeter stripe Pray! Cheers Ricardo
