The very apparent jittering is likely caused by the difference in weather. Is he using a weather plugin like NOAA that is still enabled? Are you using the latest version of the smartcopilot cfg?
-
I think this is where the "native" X-Plane user is going to clash with what the "convertee" wants. We see quite a few "what is this nonsense, i'd rather have a simple installer!" posts. This may not be true for people that have gotten to like the options X-Plane's environment gives you (copy paste/back up/move as you damn well please) but I can see this being the case for X-Plane's *potential* user base. That said, I don't think having more options for us and more revenue for developers could be a bad thing

I feel like adding an "INOP" to the logo light switch when winglets get enabled would be a good idea

The default TO/GA power setting definitely works. There is a post somewhere where this is mentioned.

Correct Taking Off procedure
dr_nerdrage replied to frankbyte's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
Not sure if I understand you correctly. AFAIK, it should only be showing you TO/CLB/CRZ *unless* you "pull to set N1". There are two different buttons on the throttle, both exist on either side. The one found on the side of the throttle handle is the A/T disconnect button (it is labeled A/T disconnect). The other button is found "under" the handle, on the lever part of the throttle. This is the Take-off/Go-around button you want to press. -
Twitch thankfully can keep records and has you covered, @Litjan. (Warning: adult language and expletives may be used to describe the bug in this case ) The aircraft gets loaded at about this time: https://www.twitch.tv/aerosimgaming/v/65393319?t=04h42m51s (04h42m51s) CDU preflight starts here: https://www.twitch.tv/aerosimgaming/v/65393319?t=05h08m49s (05h08m49s) The takeoff page click is here https://www.twitch.tv/aerosimgaming/v/65393319?t=05h17m40s (05h17m40s) Interestingly, it does sound a bit odd when it first gets loaded now that I rewatch it. Maybe an initialisation issue? Edit: tried to replicate, even including waiting 30 minutes after loading the aircraft, did not have the issue.
-
Are you giving it control inputs when trying to engage the autopilot? Trim out the aircraft before engaging CMD A (treat it like handing over the aircraft to another pilot). If that's not it, make sure your null zone matches your hardware.
-
Interestingly, it seems to have been modelled differently at some point in time:
-
Hey, thanks for the 1.0.3 CG / Trim fix. Unfortunately, it seems to take the CG value from the ground services menu. The CG entered on the TAKEOFF page does not affect the Trim setting and has no effect. Changing the CG in the Ground Services menu however does change it on the fly. (CG entered on the PERF INIT page has the same effect.)

Not complaining if I'm wrong
-
I don't think that's ever going to happen unless someone does a community update, which I think is not necessary. The textures could use a touch-up, but it's otherwise still a very solid plane (and FMC).
-
Oh definitely. As I said, merely toying with the idea at this point. From a hardware POV the CPFlight model ticks all the boxes for me, but the software will indeed make or break a purchase like this I had a look at the PollyPot tool website and it's exactly how I would expect (or I guess want) the interface software to be designed. Shame if the CPFlight software doesn't work like that. Thanks Tom. That really doesn't seem all that promising, but I hope the developer does work on it. The plane has only been out for a few days after all.
-
To summarize, you say it works. Does that include all of its functions? I quite like the 737 and have been toying with the idea of picking up the CPFlight PRO panel. If it's possible to assign datarefs in the software (or ini file), it should be pretty easy. I had a look over the dataref list in the pdfs and it seems to have everything one would need(?).

Sooo.. who tried a manual CAT I approach yet?
dr_nerdrage replied to Morten's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely. The pucker factor cannot be understated I should have gone around by then but that's when the runway popped up and I figured I could make it. Bad decision making in the middle of the night 101. -

dr_nerdrage replied to Morten's topic in General Discussion
Alright, this post inspired me to do a quick attempt at manual approaches in bad weather. My current cloud setup is better suited to flying in nicer weather and doesn't quite meet the requirements set out by @Morten, but it's still pretty gloomy. I may have to install Skymaxx for these approaches again.. I don't think it's something I've done much of before and it was pretty demanding. Especially during the windier approach, I had a lot of trouble staying on track. Once I ended up seeing the runway, I just wanted to get her down and landing technique went out the window That said, I found it to be fun and definitely something I will (and have to) practice more. Here's two videos if anyone is interested: -
Just tried to verify your issue and it works for me.

IXEG 737 Classic X-Camera Config File View File Here's a basic X-Camera config file for the IXEG 737 Classic. It has: - 15 Cockpit views - 4 Wing views - 15 External views - 2 Orbits - 1 Flyby - a "walk around" type category that takes you around various areas of the aircraft TrackIR or HeadShake users will have to enable these in the X-Camera settings. No View IDs have been assigned, do this to your liking/need. If you are unsure about what this or X-Camera does, please refer to the X-Camera website. It is an essentially free camera control plugin that provides advanced camera options. It lets you set up a huge number of different views with smooth transitions and other snazzy features, like an orbit or flyby camera. Installation instructions: 1. Make sure you have a recent/current version of X-Camera installed (such as 2.1.1 as of April 2016) 2. Go to your X-Plane 10\Aircraft\X-Aviation\IXEG 737 Classic folder 3. Copy this downloaded X-Camera_B733.csv to the IXEG 737 Classic folder 4. Enjoy (or adjust to your liking in the X-Camera settings) If you have any comments or gripes, they belong here or to me via PM. I can also be contacted at doctornerdrage@gmail.com. Safe flying! Great hotfix. Just did two complete flights and it has solved close to all issues for me. Good stuff. I suspect Tom has replaced his bloodstream with coffee to get this done. Big thanks!- 70 replies

Expanded 737 Classic Checklist Replacement View File Hey everyone, I found the stock checklist to be a little basic, so I made this expanded checklist in a style that I believe fits the aircraft. Checklist is based on real airline checklist for the 737-300. Big thanks to P3ROn for the help. (Please note that the preview image compression makes the checklist harder to read than it is in sim.) Installation instructions: 1. Go to your X-Plane 10\Aircraft\X-Aviation\IXEG 737 Classic folder 2. Make a backup of the current IXEG_checklist.png file (e.g. by renaming it to "IXEG_checklist.png.old") 3. Copy this downloaded IXEG_checklist.png to the IXEG 737 Classic folder 4. Enjoy. Please note that this checklist is not an official IXEG checklist. If you have any comments or gripes, they belong here or to me via PM. I can also be contacted at doctornerdrage@gmail.com.
