  1. I have noticed this artefact as well. A few versions ago, sometime within the last half year…

  2. Yes, there are quite a few parameters to be met for an autoland approach to be legal (and safe), I think the crosswind limit was like 10 kts (it goes down with decreasing RVR). The 737´s autopilots have no access to the rudder, so it can not "decrab" or "sideslip" to counter crosswinds. It can also not maintain the centerline after touchdown (rollout), so all it does is fly you to touchdown (in full crab) and then the pilot has to take over and manage the rollout. Also keep in mind that some ILS localizers in X-Plane are not very well centered on the runway, this is due to inaccurate government data on localizer direction and also a certain leeway LR allows airport designers to place their runways (iirc it´s "within 5 meters" of the official runway end coordinate).

  3. I've just gone round Birmingham and it works fine, with not winds or turbulance.. I'm guessing it has to be smooth (Not a bunch of turbulance etc) air for it to work and no more than 10kts of crosswind?.. You'll have to excuse my ignorance on that then.. I rarely use Autoland but just been experimenting with it, just in case I need it. Seems I've opened up some interesting areas with that, as in I have read that there is a bunch of criteria to be met when doing a full auto land (Which makes sense.) Cheers for double checking though. Often too easy to be lulled into thinking something isn't right, cos someone else thinks so, I feel better now. The whole flight model thing stemmed from this but I already learned when to cut power at different flap settings or correctly trim the aircraft. I will accept that It's most likely user error.

  4. It doesn't warrant an update? I think it absolutely does. Other aircraft have had an operational weather radar for some time now, but it's been missing from the CL650 - one of the most expensive aircraft addons available. I rarely fly the CL650 now because it is missing Wx Radar. It's a great aircraft, but incomplete since it's missing critical functionality. I routinely receive updates for other expensive aircraft addons ive purchased, but not a single update has been released for the CL650 and I've owned it for 5 months now.

  5. I respectfully disagree. The lack of any weather radar functionality in the CL650 had made me temporarily shelve the aircraft. Too many times I got torn up in some CBs because I couldn't see them at night. WXR is the feature that many of us have been eagerly waiting for. I want to fly her again in all weather conditions.

  6. Really? If any feature warranted deploying an update, this would be it.

  7. I second that 100% ! What has been done about the new weather radar helps a lot to avoid TS and severe Turb (it was already the case with some addons before but now as a matter of fact (even if we are still in beta), it is much more accurate in terms of depiction in the skies, especially by night, it helped me twice to avoid huge cell TSRA, one flying the FF772 last update LFPO/SOCA and the other, flying the Baron 58/REP VFR ) I also recall that I've been stuck in TS/severe icing condition by night flying the CL650 and I almost crashed before regaining control of the aircraft 8000 ft below LFPQ/ENSR IVAO , a MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY was sent out to the ATC, no radar on board, the great CL650, now grounded, lost its certification based on BEA investigations "Violation of safety regulations " Shame on me! I tried to accuse @Cameron but his lawyers were stronger than mine, far enough! Otherwise I entirely understand that it is a complex addon which deserves more time to make that new weather radar fully functional, so I'll be patient! Can't wait, keep up the good work devs! All my support!

  8. I would humbly argue that it does warrant an update as it is a critical feature involved in all phases of flight. That said, I know 12.3 is only in beta, and just barely at that. I do understand that it will take time to integrate this new feature into what already is the most accurate and thoroughly simulated aircraft in the market (which got to this state because it was done right instead of rushed). I'm just very excited to have a weather radar that actually performs a volumetric scan and correctly depicts what is scanned. As long as it will happen at some point, consider me happy.
