  1. So I'm a corporate pilot about to go to initial training on the Challenger 650. First off, Bravo for doing such a great job on this sim model. Using Bombardier checklists I am able to fly this model just fine. My question has to do with saving situations and documentation. I've saved my situations at various stages of my flight, but no matter what, when I launch X-Plane into any situation, I always wind up in the FBO lobby with a cold dark airplane. Surely I am missing something? Isn't there a way to start this without it always being a cold dark airplane> Secondly, I've not found any documentation about this sim model. Does any exist that might explain various settings? Thanks

  2. In supersonic segments the camera is travelling at near supersonic speed, just shy of mach 1. As the plane matches the camera speed, you can hear sound as it reaches the camera and sound waves still move forward past the aircraft. Interesting phenomena, that might be on purpose, is that as the aircraft surpasses mach 1, all sound from the aircraft disappear although at subsonic speeds the sound still reaches the camera which is at subsonic velocity at all times. Once the aircraft goes supersonic, sound can be heard only from behind the aircraft, as it should be. Not exactly sure what creates the low rumble of the roaring/screaming jets as the aircraft approaches the camera faster than the speed of sound. I love flying this way in x-plane, the ability to let your eyes fly by your side while maneuvering the aircraft around yourself in an aerial ballet flying through dynamic changing weather is awesome. The physics, how contrails appear when the weather conditions allow for it, compressed air creating moisture around the leading edges of the wing, it's a visualisation of mathematics I find endlessly fascinating and I've been doing it since 1995. The fact that for the longest time this software was written by Austin Meyer, fuelled to my understanding by the same fascination of visualising mathematics in this manner is a testament to the fact that if you love what you do, you're not "working" a day in your life. How do you like to fly? X-Plane version: 12.0.9-rc-5. Antti

  3. Hi, DCP1 / config for thr the baro setting. Create the state of the plane (Fuel, doors etc...) and save this state named C and D (Or something else), next time, load this state to start your flight.

  4. Hi, The devs, Pils, and real pilots are very active on the Discord server of HotStart. You should join it. Do you save/load from here ?

  5. I'll discuss with Saso on this. If you mean the gloss is excessive, I can reduce it, but then it would take on a more matte finish during daylight hours. I've experimented previously with finding a good balance, with not much being achieved in the way of looks. I'll note it down for future reference. Possibly. But I don't want to go finger pointing just yet.

  7. It is a contemporary misconception that a product is more valuable if it gets "frequent updates". The best product is the one that does not need updates - updating something means that it was in need of an update - hence not as good as one that is not in need of an update. The mode control panel works perfectly and if you are having problems with it (at least I can find nothing wrong with it and I flew the real aircraft for 10 years), I will go out on a limb here and say that you are not using it correctly. The same goes for the FMC, except for the clearly outlined areas where we consider it not fully functional yet as detailed in this post: https://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/8526-things-that-are-not-going-to-be-in-v15/ If you find anything not working in EXCESS to what is outlined in that post, please let us know. Best regards, Jan

  8. Wow. Talk about a failure to comprehend what was said to you. There was no denial of updates in the future, or that the product is in need of them. You just chose to take it all in a whole other way than intended.
