  1. Here's another shot of how a calibrated southern californian look can easily be achieved with Maxx FX.

  2. SMP/RWC only reads one of the METAR file at a time. It uses X-Plane's METAR.rwx file if RWC is set to "automatic" mode, and our MAXX_METAR.rwx file only if RWC is set to "always" mode. What probably happened is that the weather you just downloaded resulted in enough additional clouds compared to the weather you previously had as to cause a problem. I noticed you have custom scenery installed for CYVR, which may play a role in what you're experiencing. But I suspect you're really seeing the effects of a rare bug that we're in the process of patching. For now, you can just slightly change your cloud area setting in SMP if performance seems to tank for no apparent reason to fix it. Or, setting the cloud area below 10,000 should avoid the issue entirely until we issue a patch.

  3. We are off course thankful for the information that Sierra causes issues, might give us a head start in solving it and warn other users that are considering doing the same As long as everyone understands that installing X-Plane beta's, OS beta's, new 3rd party plugins etc always comes with a risk with regard to the 737 not functioning properly, feel free to do so. We will off course do what we can to solve whatever it is, but it might take some time depending on what the issue is. So if you are a 737 addict, let the "beta addicts" have a go before you update yourself

  4. i'm not talking about you i'm talking about xplaneport having to say sorry for starting a topic about this and there are several other discussions here on x-pilot in general with the same thing happening. this is supposed to be a community where each one helps each other and if someon feels free to test betas with current products and adresses issues as "fyi" he should be able to do so. maybe there are other users with the same problem and already found a solution. besides that it's always good to know what problems may be coming towards one when the GM is going to be releases. it may be fixed in the gm or it may not be fixed. you never know.... for your question i've learned to take a deeper look into where curl library targets are set since there seems to be a adressing issue. the routine which failed to execute is one of the very base routines of the libcurl

  7. In the same way I question the value of a lighted cabin at night from exterior view, when in reality it's not so realistic? My point here is not to insult you, but to make apparent that many people have different opinions. Incorrect assumptions. Please don't go trying to compare other people or groups to another, especially from another sim. Free time is something none of the guys definitely have, and when they do, it's going to better priorities. I used past tense, not present, so this question is way out of context. Trying to project other peoples failures onto this team is not fair of you to do, so please don't. More importantly, I'd encourage you to do some research as to who the people on this team are and you'll perhaps quickly realize they are not prone to leave things behind. There are methods within X-Plane to make it so such a cabin is not impacting resources when not in use/view. It's simply a matter of doing things right. Never mind the fact that the 737 is already an extremely good performer FPS wise. *for me (you). As I said, in due time. This group does not skimp on the details when it's time to get something done. The dedication to this product has not changed, and if promises were made (as they previously have been), they'll get done. Longish story short? The cabin lights will come proper when the cabin itself is done.

  10. To do it right? Difficult. If you've read anything about this project then you'll understand the entire cabin is slated for a makeover. Adding detail to an area that is destined for destruction and re-do is not productive. In due time. I for one am happy emphasis was put on the systems first. That would have totally broken the immersion for me. Living without detailed cabin lighting for exterior view pleasure is okay with me for the time being. Having said all this, I should add that aside from on ground, cabin lights are traditionally kept OFF at night during flight. Part of this is to not only assist sleep, but also to allow eyes to adjust during critical phases of flight in case of emergency.
