  1. Now that we have the SDK setup for more detailed clouds I am working on texturing.......This isn't as simple as pasting high resolution cloud images, and I am finally starting to get the desired effect..... OK here are a couple of comparisons so you can see the differences in V1 and V2... And some shots around town I would like to share....

  2. Hey no worries........this is the best of both worlds......SilverLining and its volumetric clouds with some of the finer details integrated for more realism........ Clouds like this have never been implemented into any simulator......People who own V1 already know what I am talking about

  4. All they keep saying is soon. I'm not trying to start an internet war with you at all. You brought yourself into my question. I simply asked how to get a hold of Ben, which I did. I was just stating my frustrations with their update process. They have posted many many times that the OSM updates were coming and they keep postponing them. As for my supposed "experience", I have a degree in GIS with over 10 years surveying experience. I have been a cartographer for the last 8 years using ARCGIS and AutoCAD. Not sure why you would question my experience in GIS data, but there it is. Seeing as I got the answer from Ben I was looking for my part in this thread is done. Thank you.

  7. So beautiful! The increased sharpness looks awesome. The clouds I'm seeing right now by looking out of the window look just like the new V2 clouds. The white coloration is spot on. Can't wait!!

  10. That's great. I'd say that I have no idea how it's working, as I haven't yet looked at this. But if it's working, then hey, who am I to complain

  11. The config used to generate this is generating absolutely everything, including fences, streetlights, individual trees, fire hydrants etc.. Since most of this information isn't in France, but is in Germany, this is likely the cause. I'll add two config files with the final version, one for HD scenery and one without (i.e. No lights, fences and little objects). This should help with loading times and give people an idea of how to configure things, etc.. Not necessarily. France has far more buildings, this is true, but Germany, where populated, has more smaller details, e.g. Fences, indivudal trees, park benches etc. Germany also has better mapped zones, e.g. Residential and Industrial zones are clearly defined, but in France, this often isn't the case.

  12. Tom, I regret that I have to jump on that thread to address what you said earlier about xp-aviators.com, because, after all, we are all guests here and I hate drama. Nonetheless, I run this site and I have NEVER been banned from any community. It would be highly biased to generalize from -your- experience. We must have different approaches, as I've never found myself in a situation where my activities/affiliations where a hinderance. We exchanged emails a few months back and I trust you understood you were *suspended* temporarily for repeated unsolicited promotion (you weren't fully aware of the rules at this time). Still, you're absolutely free to enjoy the forums, and we'd be happy to read you again! If you want the community as a whole to be healthy and thriving, lead and show the way

  14. Yes Tom , it could not have been said it better. I hartfully agree. Removing the post. Warning and explaining for the poster. And then , when that does not help, banning. ( never a ban for life at the first incident is my policy ) In that order ONLY. Leen editing = correcting my shabby english
