I'm now at the altitude of about 15,500,000 feet or about 2,935 miles or 100 times higher than what I fly at in the SR-71 blackbird in straight and level flight at the altitude of 155,000 feet in the program called Chuck Yeager's advanced trainer for the Commodore 64 back in 1988!! At a recent software engineering management course in the US, the participants were given an awkward question to answer. "If you had just boarded an airliner and discovered that your team of programmers had been responsible for the flight control software how many of you would disembark immediately?" Among the ensuing forest of raised hands, only one man sat motionless. When asked what he would do, he replied that he would be quite content to stay onboard. With his team's software, he said, the plane was unlikely to even taxi as far as the runway, let alone take off. Q: How do you know if a pilot is at your party? A: He'll tell you. Thanks! I've just finished the fuel system plug-in. Everything needs testing properly, of course, but the code is finished, a few changes or additions to the model have been made, and it's working well.
