  1. Perhaps I should add the differences at night time. The lighting is dramatically better at night with HDR on.

  4. First off, I want to say WOW!, you guys really did it. This is an amazing aircraft. I did my first live stream with this aircraft last night and the viewers were very positive. This was also my first time opening and flying the Saab 340a. One notable comment was, "This is better than a PMGD aircraft for FSX". It was a 2 hr walk around, getting familiar and a short test flight. This plane is a dream to fly, oh and no overly exaggerated torque issues. (this is a huge plus fyi) The check list view feature is out of this world! The first time going through this I was awestruck. No fumbling around looking for anything. Big Thumbs up! Flight tutorial?!?! Who has ever heard of that with a study level plane? LES and X-Aviation has! This is something that was needed in past aircraft, and the Devs provided one for us in the Saab. It's very easy to follow and step by step from startup to shut down. The documentation is amazing and very well done. Just two suggestions: 1) A check all and un-check all button in each check list. Including the ground services tab. (check all needed) I know I'm sorta lazy. 2) I would have liked to see the engine exhaust heat distortion. Not a big deal but would make a cool addition. A few very minor things I have noticed. 1) The northwest red and grey livery does not match from the radome to the fuselage. Note: I am assuming that this is trying to simulate a repaired or replaced radome, however I think the white stripe misalignment is over done. 2) The prop freewheels in the wind, cold and dark. There has to be some kind of prop brake lever I just have not found out about? 3) Two switches are missing from the check list. Main INV switch and Standby Pitotswitch is not mentioned in the normal before start check list but is listed in steps 8 and 9 of auto start.

  9. Have you cleared your old Avsim cookies from your browser cashe ? I went to log in over there to and fouind an entire new system running. Been a member of Avsim since 1999. Had to look through my saved passwords in my firefox control settings and found I had changed them and used the ones I had found and was logged in and able to get to the forums.

  12. Kris Leen De Jager, who did some of the repaints for the Saab, is a mod at avsim. Perhaps shoot him a PM through these forums and ask him if he can shed some light on the subject. In the meantime, what is your username over there and I can check to see your status in your profile.

  13. The props, even on the B/B+ used to windmill all the time in wind during my ramp experience working the Mesaba fleet. We used to put a RON kit on overnight that would tie the props down.

  14. Do you still have any of the following conditions apply; I found these seemed to impede my first flights .. Ground OP mode button still illuminated Prop Auto Coarse is still 'On' Prop Synch is still 'Off' Flaps are still set @ take off position ...If any of those are still at the settings they are for take off you will find it difficult to 'settle' into a nice climb/ cruise .. and it will feel like you're dragging a great big anchor around the sky Hope that helps, but I could be barking up the wrong tree, as you say that you've followed the rest of the check list ... Curious! *** I still can't get over how TERRIFIC this plane is! LES and X-Aviation and all of the guys n' gals who had a hand in making this project a reality .. I am deeply grateful!

  17. Hey if you need a link to a great set of HD taxi signs I know where you can find them You can though save yourself hours of work by just taking them. Oh and if you need a good thunder sound pack he's got one of those too And don't mind Peter, he's just one of those guys that's so passionate about his work it drives him nuts to see people take the easy way out. I've seen him drop more projects at about 80% done and months, yes months of work into because he absolutely refuses to send out incomplete and cobbled work. I know, crazy right ? Every one of the devs mentioned have nothing but respect out there because they have gone over and above to help out and add to the community. Just like positive and negative attention you gotz respect and lack of respect.

  19. Determining Vr is dependent on many factors and is always calculated for every takeoff. Those factors include aircraft weight, runway length, flap settings, OAT, density altitude, wind...etc. Given all these variable conditions there is no single answer. That being said, when I just want to fly and not hassle with all the charts I perform a flaps 15 T/O using 110 Kts for Vr.

  20. Here's a series of 3 tutorials on how to fly the PORTE5 (KSFO), CHANL1 (KSNA) and PEBLE4 (KSAN) SIDs using the JRollon CRJ-200 using VOR's for the first portion and the FMS for the rest of the point to point navigation: PORTE5 - CHANL1 - PEBLE4 (hand flown) -

  21. This project is definitely alive. It is being worked on when either Jim, Theo or myself have nothing to do on the Saab. The Saab is taking most of our time now, especially as it is in the hands of external testers who are providing valuable feedback and bug reports. Some work has been done on the Citation, including coding some systems. Once the Saab is done, I'm off on a well deserved, overdue vacation, and then we'll throw ourselves into the Citation full time.

  22. Decided to visit the Citation last night to see how things were shaping up texture-wise (Theo's role on the Saab 340 has finished a while ago and he wanted to get Citation textures complete.) So to break the monotony of typing Saab manuals, I started messing around with a few gauges on the Citation and took her out for a bit of a spin.
