  1. Good site, but it won't have enough information to cover what we have made. Even the manuals on smartcockpit won't have enough information. Probably good enough to get "warmed up", but not enough to really know the intricacies of the systems.

  2. After a bit of silence, I would like to post an update. The Beaver went through an upgrade with respect to the 3D model and the textures. Now everything is sharp and crisp Here comes a picture of the new cockpit. As you can see, I removed the GPS as the cockpit looks much better without it. However, the AP stayed, because it could be handy for all kind of things. More pictures will follow soon. The cabin was also re-done and currently we are working on the glass textures. After that the exterior model will follow with some nice crisp and detailed textures. The control yoke was hidden on the picture above, via a clickspot. This way you will be able to access the switches more easily. I hope you like it and stay tuned for more updates very soon!

  4. Thank you Cekko. I have always been around here at x-pilot and barring some medical issue, always will be more than likely. Feel free to ask anytime. I am banned from participation at the org, which is why you see no posts from me there anymore. I would that I could answer a lot of questions for users over that I know the answer to but unfortunately can not. You can replace my sodium flood with another named light called a "full_custom_halo" where you have no billboard, it takes nine parameters. I'm heading out the door, but will elaborate on this more in a few hours. TomK

  6. I definitely don't want to spend above $400 on graphics, as it seems overkill given that I'm not such a huge gamer. Beside flight simulation all I normally play are 2d stuff like Cave Story and the like. The main reason I was looking at the 640 was that it seemed to be the only single-slot card worth a mention, but looking at the results, I guess nowadays you don't get decent power out of anything smaller than a truck. And since the price difference between an acceptable card and a crappy card seems insignificant compared to the price of the computer, I might as well go with an acceptable one. ...BTW, it seems that a used GTX 580 with 1.5GB costs exactly the same as a new GTX 660 Ti with 2GB. According to benchmarks, they are identical... Then, from what I gather, the 580 has four times the clock speed, and quarter the cores of the 660 Ti...

  7. Projected 2013. Mid fall is my best guess, but that's an unofficial guess, not a company statement. My wife is going to get pretty angry if it isn't darn near close by then. TomK
