  2. Flying west over Lake Almanor. Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park is in the distance to the west. Mt. Lassen rises 10,463 feet (3,189 meters) and is the southern-most active volcano in the Cascades Mountain Range which extends from Canada south into northern California. Rogers Field (O05) is visible on the shore of Lake Almanor, under the Cessna's left wing.

  10. Back to the BK17! Taking off out of 50G (Nixon Memorial). Too bad MidMichigan doesn't look this lush and green right now: Approaching Midland, MI. That is the Midland Cogeneration Venture power plant and cooling pond down there, with the Dow Chemical Company's Michigan Operations on the far side: Jack Barstow Airport (KIKW/3BS): Considering I haven't flown the BK17 in a couple of months, I'm very happy that I was able to put her down just about where I wanted her:
