Goran_M Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 This should be interesting. They haven't confirmed it yet but they have said they like X Plane 10, or what they have seen of it, a lot. Going to be an interesting year.http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=44123&view=findpost&p=295158 Quote
Kesomir Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I don't tend to buy scenery for fsx because of the fps issue when combined with decent aircraft - would love to be able to get aerosoft sceneries in a sim where they can be run at an acceptable frame rate. Quote
Simmo W Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Hmm Kes, I'd guess he's talking more about the planes, which he says are increasingly easy to move between sims. Can't wait to see Bus Simulator in xplane!!Yes an interesting yr, see my next post.. Quote
Kesomir Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I think it would be far easier for them to convert scenery (using the same industry standard approach as with their plane models).Thing is, the twotter would be an easier plane conversion, but the airbusx would be a more complicated with all the custom code - in planes, the 3d is a smaller part of the whole. Not saying it can't be done - it can. Converting is much faster than writing from scratch. However, 3d is far more work than the planemaker flight model and programming appears to take (depending on complexity) longer than the 3d modelling.I'd love to see all Aerosoft products in x-plane though and my wallet is open Quote
iamfallen Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I'd love to see the PBY come over. Quote

Kesomir Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Also there's a taste in this post: http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=43015&view=findpost&p=292019From the homepage:Aerosoft to support X-PlaneSeen the video Austin released of X-Plane 10? Pretty amazing stuff, right? But to be honest we already knew because we have been meeting with Austin about that new version. We are so enthusiastic that we decided to start spending more attention to it. Some of the projects that are started right now will be released for FS and X-Plane. It’s a good example of how Aerosoft is exploring new markets. And of course we already stock some of the best aircraft for X-Plane! Quote
Jack Skieczius Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I really liked their Catalina. Was actually the very last payware I bought and flew in FSX. Cant count the JS41 since i couldn't fly it. now if only we could get A2A over here Quote
whiskeyportal Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 This is excellent news for sure! Quote
Simmo W Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Great detective work Kesomir! There'll be too many good planes soon, what a problem. And that's on top of the much better default ones Quote
hobofat Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 now if only we could get A2A over here I kept FSX as long as I did merely for A2A's 377. Would love a high quality 377 in X-Plane... Quote
Jack Skieczius Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 now if only we could get A2A over here I kept FSX as long as I did merely for A2A's 377. Would love a high quality 377 in X-Plane...Ditto. i flew the 377 just as much as i flew the MD-11. had to be the best or second best aircraft for FSX back when i used it. i do miss the 377 for sure. Jack Skieczius Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 going back a bit, i remember good times flying the 377 around BC, doing flights from CYYC to CYVR. one of the greatest things about that trip was the mountains, particularly because the 377 didn't climb nor descend at anything more or less then 1000 fpm. And if you tried to force her down faster then that you would risk iceing up the engines and well, yeah i did that once coming into CYYC. Vatsim ATC got a kick out of that plane. You also had to request decent VERY far back, like 130+ miles out or you would never make it.Once i had to extend my downwind leg like 20 miles so i could give her time to descend.Fun times for sure. i miss that plane. in fact, i even flew her 10 hours from KJFK to london. If there was one plane i would like for FSX it would be the 377 Stratocruiser from A2A Quote
Xflyboy2 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Ditto on the 377 Stratocruiser...A2A's 377 & B-17G are my favs, XPFR's B17 which is due out next week has really got me excited,I might "beg" them for a 377 Quote
