Anyone willing to make a fictional Swissair?
-
Any chance that you would natively include and support librain for the IXEG to update current effects? Although that's probably one more headache during updating/testing/developing, current 3rd party implementations are unfortunately not compatible.
-
Good job IXEG! Thanks for the update, quite fun using the experimental flight model! Here's some photos from getting service at Lugano - LSZA, madness, but we managed with a hard 280ft/m touchdown (playing the procedure of IGS01 a bit loosely). First 733 to land there?? Challenge extended to Jan.

Just re-update from the navigraph suite. I had the same thing.

Btw call me crazy but I think the materials look different in general. -

I installed it with Gizmo 20 and omg the performance! Amazing so far. Great job all. -
Appreciation and outstanding Gizmo V20

Creating addons for a flight simulator can be a thankless job. You guys are probably exposed mostly to complaints and requests and not enough thanks. So spurred by Shobhan, let me also add my voice to the big thank you that the team deserves. Thanks! And be sure that any complaints or requests stem purely from fanboism and passion for flight-simming and the aircraft, as we always seek the "just right" that can be elusive. Sometimes we may forget to recognize what has already been achieved. P.S. I do agree that a reasonable paid upgrade would make sense and not be a foul in my view for V2, as it seems to be a major rework. IXEG has given very fair and upfront treatment to all of us, the users, so I'm sure you know what to do. Cheers!- 1 reply

Good to know it works at least in some form for you! Hopefully the upcoming update will resolve any issue you face. For the last part I'm afraid my knowledge stops here.
-
So @jeffrds did it work?
-
Hahah. Btw, I was wondering, what are these (seemingly rivets) on the outboard of the engine cowling? It's clearer on the IRL blue engine photo. Is that an option for an additional vortex generator, or alternative placement?
-
Someone was mirror polishing that engine the whole night.
-
That is what they are doing.

I also just added a video with soft A/B 3 landing as POC of different conditions. As for the "fix" that you mention I'm not sure if it would break the IXEG. I believe that the above behaviour happens, and correct me if I'm wrong @Litjan, due to XPlane applying differential braking when using the yaw axis. @jeffrds If you switch the axis of your choosing to Nosewheel Tiller instead, you will not notice the braking behaviour while taxiing. Then return the values to default. At least that's what I noticed on my system. I would also suggest this lua for your manual braking: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/37662-differential-and-progressive-brakes-for-x-plane-11/

Hey @jeffrds that seems so weird. Have you noticed the same behavior at other airports? Is it the default? I'm thinking wildly here that this may be a case where the wrong surface is defined so the brakes don't work as expected? Edit: I also just tested Corfu FlyTampa (shooort runway) and the autobrake seems to be working normally, not even using reversers. A video of my quick and dirty demonstration https://youtu.be/80gTgnH0ftE Soft landing A/B 3 https://youtu.be/LZV942sev-o

I haven't experienced something similar. Have you checked if they have not disarmed? Like described below for instance (see: link). In the case of rudder pedals, over-sensitivity or calibration of the toe-brake can be a cause. I also believe that for the autobrake to engage, your spoilers should be armed before touchdown. To confirm that they are engaged you should see a green light on the location highlighted on the attached image. Unsure also if the autobrake and spoilers will not engage if the landing is too soft. Is there a wanted ft/m or a minimum limit @Litjan ? http://www.flaps2approach.com/journal/2015/2/17/autobrake-system-review-and-procedures.html The autobrake can be disengaged by turning it to OFF, by activating the toe brakes, or by advancing the throttles; which deactivation method used depends upon the circumstances and pilot discretion. Furthermore, the deceleration level can be changed prior to, or after touchdown by moving the autobrake selector knob to any setting other than OFF. During the landing, the pressure applied to the brakes will alter depending upon other controls employed to assist in deceleration, such as thrust reversers and spoilers.

Hello IXEG team, One more request/question in the avalanche that has befallen you this past week. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sure of the capabilities of the sim on the lighting front, so it may be that we already have the best we can get. However, I was wondering if anything can be done to improve exterior lighting on the IXEG? The cockpit is already pretty great and I'm not sure if anything more can be done there... I am mainly thinking of lights that would also interact with metal surfaces on the real plane, like the flickering of the strobes, the anti-collision light as well as inboard landing and runway turn-offs. Especially for the latter ones I would expect the light also illuminating the side of the engine by the fuselage for instance, or the anti-collision also illuminating the roof of the fuselage red etc etc and generally how materials would look like if lit. Is there room for improvement here? Thank you for your continuous work, and the details that you keep adding recently from running user feedback!

The details keep coming.

I usually use the W view for when I land which seems quite natural. But I'm indeed wondering about the correct FOV at this point, so you'd have instrument coverage. It's difficult to judge how much you should have realistically in your peripheral vision, without distortion and over-helping yourself by seeing too much. I like your first picture, maybe with somewhat less FOV.
-
Hi all, I guess this is a question directed mainly at Jan. I was wondering what would be the optimal/realistic FOV to set on X-Plane when flying the IXEG. Of course any findings or suggestions by the rest of the IXEG pilots is welcome!
-
@nicotum I did try your plugin but I wasn't sure it was working for me (11.50b6). There's also a note on your plugin that is supports the Zibo and Toliss. Does that mean that the IXEG team has to provide native support for it to work? Also, is there also a way to hide the tooltip?
-
Ah, ok! Thanks for pic and the correction then. I probably underestimated the differences between the generations.

Hey Tom, I'm mainly talking about the area on the attached screenshot. It seems a bit of an abrupt cut? And the convex shaping and bulging seems a bit harsher as well? I guess my observation would cover both texturing and geometry if those are the right terms to describe what I'm seeing. I hope you can follow my point. Here's also a "reference" image, of a slightly later 737 I believe, that I have in my mind and made me raise the point. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/672957375220547585/705810958282653817/airforcetwo.jpg To be poetic, the wing seems to smoothly emerge out rather than being bolted in. I guess several of these things will be taken care of as part of the mesh work you have already mentioned, like on the engines example. In any case, thanks for considering my point and I'm looking forward to any observations on your part. Cheers! P.S. I don't mean this as a pedantic judgement, as I hope you see, but rather fanboyism for this great bird!
-
As long as you're doing exterior upgrades could you take a look on the area that the wing blends with the fuselage Tom? Please?

Is there a nullzone setting for XP11, I haven't found anything so far.
