  1. I just recently built my computer with an i7 3770K quad core and a GTX680 4GB FTW. I overclocked to 4.4Ghz and it performs excellent. To answer a few of your questions, there are some write-ups out there explaining how XP10 does not utilize more than four cores so having six cores won't help you unless you have other games that will utilize them then go for it. I do not think there are any computer setups that can play XP10 to the fullest, anyone else with more experience than I can chime in on that topic. Don't get me wrong, my X-Plane 10 looks great and has a lot of eye candy, but still world distance detail and clouds are still an issue. I have my settings more on the conservative side, putting me at an average of 30-40FPS in a high quality aircraft at a high quality payware airport. So if you wanted to tweak that number down a little bit there is some room. I find that XP10 still has a long way to go in optimization. My PC plays War Thunder and DCS A-10 at just about full settings and looks amazing. 2. Keep in mind those of you that are worried about computing power, if this aircraft is in fact in the state that we see represented in the work in progress images could be anywhere from 1 to 2 years from release. How much more advances can we see in that time with X-Plane 10 and computer components? Probably a lot. I don't think FPS should be a concern this early on.
  3. I built my computer for this.. bring it on
  4. This is my speculation and that is only what it is, this is not based on any facts, just my opinion. I think PMDG will release the 757 along with Ramzzess help. Seems rather interesting in the time frame of things that Ramzzess was getting close to beta and a release of his 757 and then the project stops dead with no explanation or anything. About that same time was when PMDG came about and they being the Boeing experts they are, I have a strong inclination that they snatched up Ramzzess and his 757 project to release under the PMDG name. At the same time, PMDG gets a great programmer to aid them in the right direction. Since that time, the aircraft has gone under a rewrite and texture spruce up to get up to PMDG standards. With PMDG's Boeing resources I'm sure the aircraft has gone under a whole new level of depth in systems. It really would be a good business plan. If PMDG wanted to do a 757 for X-Plane, they wouldn't want Ramzzess high quality one already on the market. What better way to get rid of the competition is bring him on your team. One can only hope I am right! So that is my hypothesis, the PMDG/Ramzzess 757 is what we will see.
  5. I've been having the same issues with the PFD blanking out. The last time it happened to me I reset all systems to operating correctly in the aircraft failures and that cured it :/
  6. That looks so sexy when my girlfriend walked into the room I closed the browser window really fast.
  7. If that doesn't make you want to punch babies in joy then I don't know what will...
  8. I think a better April Fools joke would be to release it today. Now that would have everyone fooled!!!

  10. It does have a map. It is pretty much X-Plane's default but with improved icons. http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/image/productos/XBE700/5.jpg If using the GPS or Airtrack, your route line does get drawn on the map. It can also be changed to arc mode. I do not see a terrain map, seems to be what you see in the picture but hey, it's a start! I really do enjoy this aircraft.
  11. gimme gimme gimme
  12. http://www.ipobjects.com/products/airtrack/mcp Here is the list of features for AirTrack's MCP. All the way at the bottom of the page is a screenshot of the panel on the iPad. You can see all your autopilot functions and if you tap over a number such as the altitude, it will bring up the option to change that number with a little number keypad.
  13. Yes it is. AirTrack has a built in autopilot which is fully standalone. I like this feature because I can use AirTrack's autopilot on aircraft that do not have one built in such as the WACO from Alabeo. I also use it with the LES DC-3 as it allows me to even fly ILS approaches with it. Sorta brings the aircraft into present day times, if that is your preference.
  14. I do believe he is talking about the built-in Multiplayer in Settings > Net Connections > Multiplayer. Of which my friend and I had no luck connecting to each other either.
  15. How about you just let me have it now.. I won't tell anyone I promise
  16. I'm definitely not one to be picky about reflective textures. If it's a good looking bare metal skin of the likes I've seen done such as JR's Jetstream will do fine for me! Beggar's can't be choosers. If someone is willing to do their best with what we are given to work with, I will be happy.
  17. Would it be okay to request a livery for this wonderful aircraft? To any willing artists, I would like to have N8704. It's a beautiful still flying C-47 restoration owned by the Yankee Air Museum near Detroit. If you search the registration, there are tons and tons of pictures available. This aircraft is also a daily visitor to EAA AirVenture flying in passengers. Thanks.
  18. I was going to guess Anchorage until Hawaii was mentioned.
  19. I'm lovin the bare metal skin! It looks very good, as well do all the rest.
  20. Dozer, the complexity of the aircraft is about as high as you can go with a 727. The Flight Engineers panel is fully functional other than I think two or three switches that are irrelevant at this time such as the External Power switch as there is no GPU with this aircraft. Also the manual pressurization is not modeled, however the Auto Pressurization is so you still have to enter your cruise altitude, landing altitude as well as toggle the FLT/GRD switch, the system does the rest as it would on a 727. A lot more extensive list can be found on the systems at flyjsim.com but the entire fuel system is modeled with crossfeeds and fuel heats, air conditioning, packs, bleed airs are modeled even down to different duct systems. It is very much in depth. If you've ever had the time in CaptainSim's 727 then I think you will like Jack's more. Also to add, yes there are failures set up. Being that there is no autothrottle or FADEC to speak of, keeping the engines at too high of an N1 for too long will result in engine fires. Which that being said, the engine fire panel is fully simulated as well. I do know that a future free update will have a cabin and ground equipment added.
  21. Looks awesome so far, keep up the good work, I wouldn't mind having a Fokker in my hangar!
  22. I wanted to formally thank you earlier as well Javier but unfortunately I had to go to work. I'm glad Phantom88 started this thread. I purchased the Jetstream this morning the second I woke up and saw it was released. The aircraft is fantastic and I love using it. You did a wonderful job and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future.
  23. Thank you very much Javier. I really appreciate your hard work and what you bring to X-Plane is ground breaking. No doubt the bar is about to be raised yet again. I look forward to purchasing this aircraft the moment it is released.
  24. If you need to look this Saab up in the phone book, it will be listed under Crap, Holy
  25. That just brought a tear to my eye... DTW will once again be full of Saabs. Oh how I miss thee.
