  1. We override the X-Plane fuel slider settings - so you can´t really refuel in the air. Sorry. Cheers, Jan
  2. That is correct!
  3. Hi, while I haven´t checked explicitly for ENGM, a lot of times STARs and TRANSitions nowadays live "side by side". It is not like in the old times (or in the US) where you have a STAR TRANSITION - then - STAR - then - TRANSITION - then - APPROACH - then - RUNWAY. IF you look at EDDF, for example, you have many PSA STARs (starting at PSA), but also many PSA TRANSITIONs (starting at PSA). If you choose a PSA STAR and then a PSA transition, the STAR will be erazed again. Cheers, Jan
  4. Hi Blue Nose - thanks for the report! We have not heard of anything like this before, so lets hope that it was just a transient quirk and will never come back! Please keep us posted, Jan
  5. I think you think wrong. The plane works fine on fullscreen 4K (I run it in that configuration) - and if it doesn´t on yours, it is probably a problem with your screen, your system or the X-Plane program itself. You said yourself that it is working for you "after switching monitors". To accuse us of misleading a customer is a pretty serious accusation. Jan
  6. Thanks for the info - I never ran X-Plane on multiple monitors, so I can´t verify or troubleshoot the problem - as far as detecting the "left border" goes I think that should be up to X-Plane to determine, our code is relatively simple, afaik. It "may" be worth sending them a bug report on this as well. I will nevertheless file your request to "disable" any popups as a feature request, I can see the worth for "purist" fliers, as well. I had an add-on once that constantly displayed a little "cobwheel" in the corner to access the options. I needed the screen blank for some video-work, though... Jan
  7. Hi, just so I understand - how do you trigger the menu without mouse? It is not shown by default, but only shows up when bumping the mouse against the edge? Are you talking about the IXEG menu (left edge) or Gizmo menu (right edge) or both? If you let me know I can put this in the wish-list...it would have to be a pretty "unobvious" way to disable it (per dataref, possibly), so users can´t turn it off by accident. Cheers, Jan
  8. Great footage, guys! Cheers, Jan
  9. Hi Tom, just like in the real plane, the bank angle limit selector only has an effect in HDG mode. In VOR/LOC and LNAV bank is always limited to 30 degrees, regardless of the bank angle limiter. The only way to avoid high bank angle during cruise would be to fly the turns in HDG mode (with the limiter set to 10 deg, maybe), or in manual flight. This sounds a bit like too much trouble, but I flew with a Captain once that made it a habit to always "cut the corner" a bit in HDG mode, fantasizing about how much fuel and time he saves for our company.... One of the toughest skills to master as a First Officer is when to just keep your mouth shut and nod and say "wow, that is a great idea, Captain" - and when to say "I have control! Go-around!" Jan
  10. Mfor has the answer for the pressurization system. The only thing to add would be that the AC manual mode is very fast (to quickly open/close the valve all the way) and the DC mode is slow (which makes manual pressure rate control easier). I also see a lot of videos where they set the landing altitude in automatic mode to field elevation -200´. This is not necessary, the automatic mode will control to entered altitude -200´automatically. When using standby mode you want to set the cabin altitude according to the max pressure schedule (the little black placard right underneath the panel). For landing set it to field elevation -200´. For LNAV turns: The logic in the real plane plans the turns at high speeds with a radius that demands less bank (cruise flight). The bank limit per se is still 30 degrees for LNAV - so if there was a sudden crosswind threatening to push you off this shallow turn, the bank would increase to stay on the magenta. We don´t model this "cruise planning" yet, thats why you see the (too steep) turns. Cheers, Jan
  11. Legal...in which country?
  12. Hi, I have to try that - but "saving" a flight generally does not work with the IXEG 737. The saving function in X-Plane can not capture all the relevant data needed to run this plane, so it will most likely not work after reload. Cheers, Jan
  13. Hmm, this is odd. I just tested at TXKF runway 30. I spawned ready to fly with ILS tuned on 109.90. It shows fine. Next I use PREFLIGHT to select "TURNAROUND", hit apply. 109.90 still works fine - tuned it to something else and back, works fine. Can you specify which runway/ILS is not working for you? Cheers, Jan
  14. Not on the version we model
  15. Hi Fesi, there is indeed a quirk in the installation program that needs you to manually ad a folder named "coroutes" to the aircraft folder. Sorry for that omission! Once that is present, you will be able to save your current routing with the "save route" prompt. It will add a file with the .fpl extension to that folder. At my company we use a pair of three-letter codes with a number for our company routes, for example KLAX - KSFO route 4 would be LAXSFO4.fpl Cheers, Jan
  16. ...and I just doublechecked (got me worried when the OP said that he couldn´t enter 15 for takeoff flaps) and it works:
  17. Yes, of course! I have only used it like once or twice in my life, so I keep forgetting! Thanks for that correction, Jan
  18. Yes, I know that many other planes have things that make it more "convenient" and "easier" for the user to fly the plane. For us it is still a design choice to not make our plane easier to fly than the real aircraft. I am sure that real pilots would love to have "pop-out" instruments that they could suspend in front of them mid-air...but they haven´t invented those yet. You have to constantly glance up and down and going from instrument flight to visual flight with a low ceiling/visibility is a skill that needs to be trained and honed. I am aware that it is a bit harder in a desktop simulator to "look around" - and thats a reason why we have the "mini-pop-up" when changing a setting on the EFIS control panel. I would also like to have some functionality that simulates a second person in the cockpit, because flying the 737 alone is a challenge. We will add some options to sync the altimeter setting, DH settings and speed bugs, for example. I also know that resolution of a typical computer screen (1920x1080) is not really helpful when reading small info on your instrument - but hardware is on the way of "curing" all those limitations (4K displays, VR). I find it not difficult at all to find a seat position that allows me to see all relevant instruments during approach. I am certain that the designers of the other aircraft have their reasons for adding features and I won´t say that that is wrong at all - it´s just that you guys are stuck with a purist like me when flying the IXEG 737 and will have to learn to cope "the real way". Sorry Cheers, Jan
  19. No you can´t. The 737-300 only has two certified take-off flap settings, and thats all the FMS will calculate (1 and 5). I am sure it can take off with other flap settings, too - but it is illegal to do so, and the takeoff configuration warning horn will blare at you the whole time. Cheers, Jan
  20. I could - but I don´t want to to. I stand by the credo of "letting users experience what it is to fly a real 737". Mini-EHSI-popups are not part of that. Jan
  21. Mfor is right - the wing-anti ice can only work on the ground when pushing the GND TEST - and even then it will shut off after a short time delay (to avoid overheating the leading edge). Real aircraft can only de-ice the leading edge - since this is the only place that ice will accumulate DURING FLIGHT. They can´t de-ice the upper surface of the wings - and thats where snow accumulates during ground time. To safely take off during icing conditions, you need to have the aircraft sprayed with de-icing fluid that has a holdover time - this is the time that the viscous fluid protects the wings agains falling snow. All this is missing in X-Plane - I think you may want to file a bug report with Laminar Research to implement a "spray with de-icing fluid" option that sets the wing icing to 0 for a set amount of time. You can check the status of the wing icing on the datarefs - and who knows, the value may even be "writable" with dateref editor (havent tried) - that way you could set it to 0 right before lift-off. Cheers, Jan
  22. Its the way of progress! And you can resort to flying at night - the digits show then! Cheers, Jan
  23. Hehe, I am not going to come after you if you do something like this . We are certainly not discouraging any modding and tweaking to your own desire, just don´t ask for support when something goes wrong. Cheers, Jan
