For what it's worth, I have the core datarefs code open right now, and tabs for pollypot and all that fun stuff.- 42 replies

Gizmo / X-plane crash when sending datarefs
Ben Russell replied to Slayer's topic in Hardware/Cockpit Dev
It's a bit more complicated than that. If it's too much to handle why are the FPS rates so high. Gizmo is heavily optimised for the OBJ8 rendering engine. It works perfect in that context.- 42 replies

What's to be mad about? Top of the world.

"Programmer to programmer"; this bug report is useless. *delete*

We're trying. And we're actually converting the FSX/P3D masses... (according to the rest of the internet...) Anyone that thinks they can do it better is welcome to do so, plenty have already tried. Thanks again to everyone making constructive efforts to track down the bugs.
-
Actually I'm 100% sure there is plenty of overlap in the hundreds of people that requested early access and all the bugs and complaining about imperfections.

For reference. Battlefield 4 bugs forum; 798 index pages and growing. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/view/2955064762159285271/ These guys have thousands of people, hundreds of millions of dollars budget, entire buildings full of talent all working in one place together to bring you products that are still full of stupid annoying bugs. We are a small team of about six people spread all over the world working in our spare time and up until release we were entirely self funded. Thanks to those with the patience and vision to support us in what we're trying to do.

Can you list some of your computer specs? Maybe post your Log.txt as well (it has info about your video card and RAM, etc in it)

You've got a whole pile of plugins installed. Start with removing DRT. It looks like it's conflicting somehow. Hard to be sure because the log message doesn't really tell us.

Optimisation is a long term process. Keep your eyes on the hotfixes and updates. -
IXEG 737 Classic v1.0.1 Has Been Released!
Ben Russell replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
Steve. I spent some time tuning the HotFix servers today and have made them much more friendly to people with laggy internet connections such as yourself. Hopefully in future when we issue HotFixes they will take first time, every time. Let me know how you get on! br.- 70 replies

Hardware is on our list to definitely support though! Patience appreciated! (I've got an X52 and a couple of arduinos, nothing fancy.) -
[FAQ]Solution to freeze and stutter using FMC

Thank you for the data point. It's very useful. More an investigative request, definitely a temp work around. Seamless sound is very important to us. Thanks everyone for the support! -
[FAQ]Solution to freeze and stutter using FMC

I'll be working closely with Tom and the team to optimise things like this. I might have to add "Worker Threads" to Gizmo64 so we can do the heavy lifting stuff outside of the game loop. Thanks for your patience while we figure it out... First we'll get it working, then we'll get it working faster. Optimisation is definitely at the top of my list over the near future. -
Roland. Can you please click the Key Icon in the Gizmo toolbar on the RHS. This will open the activation window and show you how long each license-activation has remaining. It's possible that your RWC record is still set to a lower time period for re-activations. If it's normal you should have around 180 days remaining as you just reactivated it. Thanks for the feedback about unexpected reboots. It's hard to anticipate usage patterns. I'll take this into consideration for further improvements.

IXEG 737 Classic v1.0.1 Has Been Released!
Ben Russell replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
If you got the green text saying "Hotfix installed." after it completed download of files it should be fine. The downloader puts all the new files into ./scripts/hotfix/ while it's attempting to complete all files in the task. When it has a completed list of files it will move them into ./scripts/ I will be making improvements to the HotFix tool in the coming weeks and months, user feedback has shown that it could be more reassuring that the job was completed properly. Thanks for your support!- 70 replies

IXEG 737 Classic v1.0.1 Has Been Released!
Ben Russell replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
Glad to hear you got it sorted Steve. Here at home my ADSL is rated as "Worse than 70% of Australia" so I figured that'd be good enough for testing... apparently not. Will improve this in future, thanks for sticking with it!- 70 replies

It sounds like your machine is running very slowly. What kind of frame rates do you normally get when using X-Plane? Can you provide any more information about your computer? What kind of CPU? How much RAM? What kind of video card? If possible, try reducing your rendering options. This should increase your X-Plane FPS and the breathing room your computer has to perform its tasks. Giving your computer more time to complete its tasks should hopefully allow the HotFix system to complete its job.

Gizmo / X-plane crash when sending datarefs
Ben Russell replied to Slayer's topic in Hardware/Cockpit Dev
The dataref subsystems are highly optimized for X-Planes OBJ8 rendering engine. This was responsible for massive speed increases last year (20%~) with the Saab. You're going to need to be patient with me on this one. Thanks for reporting and exploring.- 42 replies
