A huge thanks to the developers of this beautiful aircraft from IXEG. I must say it really sets the standards on how a x-plane add-on aircraft should be made. The sounds are just so nice made, 3D sound when using the 3D still spot view when the plane does the flyby is just so amazing. The systems works great. It flys and follow the line perfectly. I really hope other x-plane add-on developers will use the IXEG as an example on how it should be done1 point

Hi guys, I'm again having this issue about a malformed METAR file: ----- SkyMaxx Pro: Raised stratus layer to avoid a layer collision. SkyMaxx Pro: Found new METAR.rwx file SkyMaxx Pro: Parsing METAR data --=={This application has crashed because of the plugin: SkyMaxx Pro}==-- --- With all due respect, since I've been experiencing it for long: I would like to ask you to, please, put some error handling routines on your code so that you encapsulate the exception inside your plugin rather than raising it up to X-Plane process and making it crash. Maybe it's hard, maybe it's not. Not sure about the complexity of your codebase & design. Will be waiting for a new update, hoping SkyMaxx pro to handle malformes METAR file. It would be awesome. AND thanks for this great plugin. Martin1 point

Hi Facu - Try removing the malformed METAR file, then disconnect from internet to avoid x-plane download it again, open x-plane, switch off real works weather. connecta back to internet. Done. Now you should be able to use X-Plane again. try again in a few hours to enable back real world weather and see in the new metar is not corrupt.1 point

I have the same problem, and I can't use Xplane due to this crash. I was flying in Argentina, we are havinb bad weather at the moment. The error is when Skymaxx parse new metar data. I attach my files. I deleted the .rwx files and could start the sim, but It crashed again before I could change anything. Excuse my grammar. Regards! Facundo MAXX_METAR.rwx METAR.rwx Log.txt1 point

The first thing is you have to make sure all your performance parameters are correct as well as your route. Second you can't activate VNAV below 400ft AGL.1 point

I fly X-Plane on a top of the line iMac and had begun having numerous software crashes in version 10.40+. I also have a ton of custom scenery and a large number of plugins. Thinking those could be the source of the crashes, I did a clean install of the most current 10.40 release (prior to the release of 10.50), but still experienced software crashes that would usually take place after around 30 minutes of flying, but sometimes sooner. Additionally, it didn't seem to matter what aircraft I was flying, and I had become so frustrated with 10.40+ that I was reluctant to even start it. After updating with the first several releases of 10.50 beta, the crashes continued, whether in the clean version or the one with all the custom scenery and plugins- and, of course, 10.50 had several glitches that were being ironed out. Upon installing 10.50b6, however, I found X-Plane to be running BEAUTIFULLY, with absolutely no crashes, even with all the add-ons. WELL DONE X-PLANE DEVELOPERS! If you haven't seen the buildings in 10.50b6, just take a look at Honolulu. This shot is taken from just west of Diamond Head, looking toward PHNL. The buildings are stock X-Plane 10.50b6, however, the water off Waikiki is enhanced with a photo scenery add-on.1 point

I can't express how much I appreciate your help!1 point

Enough. The likely cause is a bad METAR entry from the download source. Everyone would get the same crash at the same time because the bad entry is causing the parse to fly off the handle. We have measures in place to hopefully solve this going forward, but please quit with the inundating of threads like this.-1 points

I just recently purchased this because of the amazing reviews. I agree it is a great plane, the systems are tremendous and the sound blows me away. It probably feels better and more realistic than any other but the fmc is terrible. It looks like a Spectrum zx with the low resolution blocky text and half of it not working. I was amazed at how crap the fmc was. I knew of the no tcas and no des now etc before buying but the fmc is terrible. FF 767 now the fmc on that baby coupled with the support for tablets etc is the best yet. I almost always land manually but to test the AP I tried a few autolands, only 1 out of 4 was successful. It was all over the place with the slightest wind. Even with calm conditions it managed to do a half arsed un commanded toga 200 feet from runway. Im being very critical because of the price but the dynamics and systems are superb. The menu for loading etc definitely needs a make over. The fmc and menu (completely irritating) look somewhat freeware. For 6 years development and $75 I expected more. A great plane, one of the best, let down by some fundamental flaws and bizarre omissions. I compare this to having all PMDG, Flighfactor, JAR Design and Aerosoft on Fsx, P3D and X-Plane. Redesign the menu and redo fmc and it will be even better.-1 points
