  1. Quickie Update: I totally redid the textures for the Concourse and Jetway...don't mind the horrid ground texture...just in there temporary to get Jetway placement correct. As always...it's a WIP.

  5. Ok, so I figured it out. Since there are no out of the box lights like this, I had to animate my own. I have not tried the strobe yet, but I think that will be a simple On/Off animation. I tried the harder Amber rotating beacon and I got it to work. Basically there are two lights being animated... a billboard and a custom spill light (see the test below) I can elaborate if anyone is interested.

  6. I'd like to thank John as well. Bought Skymaxx when it first came out earlier this year, and have been in utter awe since then. Sure, there was room for improvements, but John and the rest of the XA team really blew any possibilities out of the water with SkyMaxx 2.0. Looking forward to all your future products, John. You've got a loyal customer here!

  7. Hello X-pilot members, As requested by many FSX fans who came from Microsoft to X-Plane flight simulator, I started development of X-Passenger for X-Plane. What will it have? -Sounds (Boarding,Deboarding,Hostess,Co-pilot sounds, Passenger sound effects) -Random failure ( you can set it from 0-100%) -Medical emergency.Passenger has a heart attack. You have to land to closest airport in 15 minutes. -Load Fuel and Passenger PANEL- It will be able to load passengers using visual effects like Passenger bus, or Fuel truck. -Comment after each flight- You will get report what do passenger say about flight- they will comment a takeoff, landing... -You will be able to record your announcement to passengers during flight, so you will be able to hear it later.. -You will be able to access to Virtual Aviation Herald page And many more... Price will be: 30€ Stay tuned... Teo

  10. Just wanted to finish off this thread by thanking to John and Sundog for SkyMaxx 2.0 In only a few months the quality of my virtual aviation has advanced significantly thanks to SkyMaxx 2.0 and I can now confidently say SkyMaxx has improved significantly since release. SkyMaxx is looking more beautiful and running with higher framerate than ever before, I couldn't be happier! It can be easy to forget how much things have changed (same settings, same computer): 2.0:

  11. Try again. Don't know why, but it wasn't in the folder I had it in. I've now replaced it. Link will work.

  12. Just an update to let you all know that works continues on this and our other projects (VHHH, KJAC). I've done most of the modeling of the concourses, including some interior work. With these huge expanses of glass so prevalent in today's modern airport design, looking over the glare shield into an empty box kinda would take away from the immersion factor. Still very early WIP (with temporary textures): Exterior: Tug Underpass (too low for trucks): The apron lighting "tilts" with the building: Holdrooms: Get some shopping in while you wait: Legs tired? take the moving walkway!

  13. Huey I am well aware of the competition and to be honest I am not a big fan, the approach is outdated and not as volumetric.... I mean this in a very nice way, maybe FSX/P3D is what you are looking for...... Our goal isn't to make a REX clone and this will never be our focus.....Not to say REX isnt beautiful, but pictures in the sky are not what we want. My vision of SM is to have beautiful cloud formations that are volumetric and realistic, something pretty and practical for flight simulation. As far as your assestment of the SS's I just provided if you look at them you will see we are adding more details to the clouds, again this is a very early look at them. I usually hesistate posting such images since users tend to jump to conclusions. In this case I wanted to post some images as to say "hey look we are working on things for you" , but that has backfired and my update is crap according to Huey.....If I dont post anything I see things like "SkyMAXX is Falling Apart in a Ball of Fire".....Damned if I do and damned if I dont..... Updates to SkyMaxx are not always geared towards visual enhancements BTW, most importantly, stability of the promised product was our initial focus. Now that we have this, as shown in the above images(which backfired), we are focused on making SkyMAXX more visually appealing.......
