  4. This is my speculation and that is only what it is, this is not based on any facts, just my opinion. I think PMDG will release the 757 along with Ramzzess help. Seems rather interesting in the time frame of things that Ramzzess was getting close to beta and a release of his 757 and then the project stops dead with no explanation or anything. About that same time was when PMDG came about and they being the Boeing experts they are, I have a strong inclination that they snatched up Ramzzess and his 757 project to release under the PMDG name. At the same time, PMDG gets a great programmer to aid them in the right direction. Since that time, the aircraft has gone under a rewrite and texture spruce up to get up to PMDG standards. With PMDG's Boeing resources I'm sure the aircraft has gone under a whole new level of depth in systems. It really would be a good business plan. If PMDG wanted to do a 757 for X-Plane, they wouldn't want Ramzzess high quality one already on the market. What better way to get rid of the competition is bring him on your team. One can only hope I am right! So that is my hypothesis, the PMDG/Ramzzess 757 is what we will see.

  5. I've taken some time this morning to gather a few screen shots and post them here: http://www.dh-aircraft.co.uk/news/files/26afff15b5a355380e75d62b0917ca57-103.html This is the first time I've had it back together and in any way photogenic since some rather major revisions. The changes were precipitated by adding a periscopic sextant in the roof (which, actually, I see I forgot to post news about here) but, because the sextant required changes to internal and external models, UV maps, new shadow-bakes and textures, the changes were far-reaching. While I was at it, I swept in some other improvements, too. Apart from any truly unsightly aberrations, black triangles, gaps or thrashing I find during testing, that's it cosmetically. I can now clear the decks and concentrate on programming. More on that later. Guy.

  8. Today I continued my world tour in X-Plane 10. I was going from Dubai to Linzhi (Tibet / China). As with the previous legs, I've written about it in my blog: http://fly-xplane.blogspot.de/2013/04/4-dubai-omdb-to-linzhi-zunz.html

  9. if PMDG came to X-plane with the 737 NGX series, the EADT 737 wouldn't stand a chance in it's current state. it would be out-sold by a lower-poly higher-definition and ultra-realistic model with a VC. IF PMDG comes to XP, then EADT is practically finished. unless they opt to merge.

  12. I am going to put on my flame suit for this one, but I have the 777 and I would put it closer to captain sim than PMDG. To be a PMDG plane it would need a lot of work... My guess is it's the NGX that is being reworked for X-plane. For a few reasons. 1. When PMDG enters the market it's going to be with a splash.. Just releasing something simple to get a product out there is not PMDG style. They rather take longer and have it be the right product and be the best or right up there with the best offered for X-plane. 2. As far as tubeliners go it's a pretty straight forward plane to simulate, I am not saying it's easy.... just straight forward compared to what PMDG is doing with the 777 3. It's the RIGHT plane, soon we will have a great top notch 737 classic but there is nothing out there for X-plane NG's that come close to the NGX

  13. Left side is finished. The fence took a while, but I'm happy with it. I'm off to the woods in a couple days to grab some pictures of the back of this building. Texturing this thing is going to be a nightmare... Holy crap. I hope everyone's enjoying the screenshots

  14. Here's the results. I actually forgot to lower the number of objects (essentially buildings along the streets), but it was a notable improvement the few things I adjusted. Here's your settings, as mentioned in your post above. Here's what that looks like And here's my settings based on yours, which I think will give you a better experience. I highlighted what I adjusted. This looks like... Um... For some reason the forum is scaling down the images, so you don't notice the aliased edges all over the place with your settings. Note the frame rate counter in the lower left corner. I use fraps for stills and video from games and X-Plane, and made the FPS counter show up in the stills for this test.

  17. It is REALLY worth the paying, and Scandinavia / Finland has beautiful landscapes. I think everybody interested in the continued development of top-level scenery should get this one. It's better than Amsterdam, better than Wilmington (sorry, Cameron), better than TruScenery's own Malmi. (But all these three, Amsterdam, Wilmington, Malmi are very close to Tampere.)

  21. The middle console is done. Some small items left to do (like normal maps, tiny color corrections, text on Flight Data Recorder) but I'm very satisfied with the result. I've learned a LOT this weekend. The last little panels took less than an hour to texture it up fully - with all the dirt, scratches, labels, etc. I think I'll make a clean version too, but as I've seen on airliners.net, none of them are clean... So, it's time to move on. Next will be the overhead panel. Still no date on release, but things getting faster. PS.: I have a lot of ideas how to make this plane more real, e.g.: when you download the plane for first, you get a clean plane with clean cockpit. With every flight, the plane downloads a little more dirtier texture. After about 20 flights you get to the full-dirty version. Of course you can clean the plane - it replaces the texture with the previous clean version. Hope some day it may be done

  22. When i seen this aircraft was being made i had to check it out on WIKI. I was looking at the crashes and came across the strangest cause for an aircraft i had ever seen. On August 25, 2010, a L-410 crashed with 20 fatalities in Bandundu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to the sole survivor, the crash was caused by a stampede of passengers after a crocodile escaped from a bag in the cabin. The crocodile itself survived the crash, but was killed by rescuers.[19]
