Goran_M Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Before posting questions regarding how to fly the Duchess and other technical specific questions, please read the manual. Have fun and happy flying! Quote
woweezowee Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Hi! Would be great to read the manual, but I am presented with this:Would you correct that and let us download it here, please? thanks! Quote
Goran_M Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 Woah!?I'm not sure putting a link up to the manual would be useful as it's the exact same file. Would it be possible to download Adobe Acrobat Reader and use that to see if it works? Here's what I see when I open it up. Obviously the first page.In any case, here's a temporary link until Cameron gets back online.http://users.tpg.com.au/captaing//LES_Beech_Duchess_POH.pdfMany apologies for this.Goran Quote
woweezowee Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Hi Goran. I don't really want the Ac.Reader on this machine, sorry. I'll wait patiently for a revised version and meanwhile say this: Can't take it in the air now, but man, that's a damn beautiful plane. Great cockpit with clear instruments. Great from the outside, too. Lot's of improvements from the sundowner, and that already was good! I can't imagine what the Saab will be like! Quote
Goran_M Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 Perhaps you can try Foxit PDF reader. I know that works as well. I'll look into it and maybe even use another PDF converter.Anyway, many thanks for the comments. I can't take all the credit though. It's just my modelling and gauge animations/programming. Theo gave it all the color. We actually made a point to make sure everything was clearly visible.Goran Quote

Kesomir Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I downloaded the doc and it opens fine in acrobat pro 9, but not in preview. On snow leopard 10.6.4.I tried optimising the file as well, but couldn't output from that something to display in preview, although I did trim the size from 8 to 5 meg Quote
JGregory Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 If you are on a Mac.... click the link above in Safari so that Safari opens it up in a new window. Once it loads completely save the document to your hard drive. You should now be able to open it in Preview without a problem.Jim Quote

OlaHaldor Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I have the same problem as woweezowee in Preview... Really pitty I will need to get another reader. If I may, I'd suggest you check your methods of saving the document to PDF. Quote
Goran_M Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 I'll be looking into this today, guys.Again, apologies. But it's a big mystery.Goran Quote
OlaHaldor Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Anyway. Congrats on the release. The news came to a shock in my inbox. Looking forward to enjoy every last pixel of it. Quote
Goran_M Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 Thanx Ola. Appreciate that. For those of you having problems viewing the document, I used a different converter. Please try the link again to download.http://users.tpg.com.au/captaing//LES_Beech_Duchess_POH.pdf Quote
OlaHaldor Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 That one works as it should in Preview. Super! Quote
dpny Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 It's an issue with fonts being embedded incorrectly in the PDF. The official Acrobat/Acrobat Reader will always be able to see the fonts, no matter what was used to create the document. Quote
steven winslow Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I opened the POH that came in the Documentation folder inside the installed aircraft folder. I am on a Mac, OS10.5.8 and it opened fine in Preview. I used Acrobat Reader 9.3.3 to open it and print it. Worked like a charm! Quote
