Jack Skieczius
Now try landing her in water! you can do it! i have done it several times. Taking off from PHDH today, i heard a roar as this passed me by. i just had enough time to take this shot.
Jack Skieczius
couldn't resist. If you do it just right, the engines wont get hurt and you can even take off again.

OlaHaldor
You guys are nuts! Made a long trip now. 1h 40min. Probably the longest I've ever flown. Ever. Once again, AirTrack saves the day. So, this trip went from ENBO to ENZV, flying along the west coast of Norway.I nailed the way I shall land too I think. Fly by FMC until I reach the ILS, let the ILS bring the plane down nicely, and aligned to runway - then at about "500" I disengage autopilot and take it down by hand. I had about 3-5 degrees nose up at touch down.Slow descend down to 4000Only a little more until I disengage autopilot nowYeah!
Lukasz
Made a long trip now. 1h 40min.I can only wonder, what will you write, when 747 is out ;DOne of my last logbook entries for FS9 contains this information:2008-02-17 Boeing 747-400 Paint2 4.2 7.2 0.1 11.4Frankfurt to Hong-Kong, if memory serves me well. For now, it's good to see you having so much fun

Though I find the refresh on the displays to be quite slow on my 3rd gen itouch, to the point that I mostly use the app for the autopilot/fms function only. tkyler
So wanting to thoroughly get my mind off of x-plane development for the day, I decided to...well, make an aircraft "old school" One obj, 2D panel texture. Being a fan of wooden aircraft, I did a GP-5...a 'one off', wooden framed aircraft built specifically for air racing. To date, it's done close to 400 mph (640 kph) using a Chevy V8 Corvette engine tuned to around 700hp I think....they keep messing with it, no telling what the power is. To build such a specialized aircraft nowadays is rare..and to design/build it in wood, even rarer! Check the video and listen to that engine at 0:40s into the video! I want one of these! Jack Skieczius
Sexy, powerful and fast, what else can you ask for.I did notice those tires are really tiny. Probably saves on weight and interior space.
Simmo W
That GP5 is gorgeous, and that sound! It's like the Falco on a steroid and Viagra cocktail! Good recovery too, just.
Simmo W
And to quote my kid - 'please daddy, can I have one, please, I need it!' xplane version at least ;D
tkyler
You know..it was an itch I scratched...and not terribly thorough, but perhaps someone wants to have at it and refine it. I don't think I'll mess with it again....feel free to grab and do whatever with it you like. Blender and PSD file included.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/955680/Osprey_GP5.zip
woweezowee
I fell in love with the Bendix KLN 90B GPS. Developers, use it in your cockpits instead of the the default Garmin!

SmileyI don't think you can draw SASL based stuff in 3D. I could be wrong though. It sure is cool though and long overdue! Anyone aware of whether or not SASL draws to the 3D texture for 3D usage? woweezowee
I don't know, but the author says developers should contact him if they want to integrate it.http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=51731
falcon71
The An-24 and the Yak-40 by Felis use SASL in the 3D cockpit, it's definitely possible. SASL can draw to the panel texture, which then appears in the cockpit object.
Nova
I flew the first GPU powered airplane available on the planet! ;D
crs
Hmm, I couldn't turn off parking brakes with GPU connected. Looks like you forced it in somehow.Kamil
Nova
The trick is, to "break", this will unlock the GPU brakes for a short time.I have the brakes on the main fire trigger of my joystick, so it's at first a lot of clicking to get it accelerated, later then, when reaching about 60ktn you only need to break only once per second, after 100ktn it accelerates even with the brakes. The lighter the aircraft, the better it works, due to lower friction of the tyres. ;D
