alxunru Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 It took a little longer than we had thought it would, but we've finally got a cut of something presentable.I'll let the video do the talking Enjoy!Alex Quote
Kiedels Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Thank you so much!!!! ;D I can't wait to do a long-haul flight in this plane Quote
WombatBoy Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 That looks amazing - I as well cannot wait to fly this one One question though, may I ask where you got the scenery for Heathrow, Dubai, and LAX. I've looked and not found many of them. My LAX and Heathrow look nothing like the ones you have. Quote
Kiedels Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 He got it using FS2XPlane, which converts FSX scenery to x-plane 9. I don;t know how hard it is, but I think you could give it a try. Quote
Cameron Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 One question though, may I ask where you got the scenery for Heathrow, Dubai, and LAX. I've looked and not found many of them.LAX = Cloud9LHR = UK2000 Heathrow XtremeDXB = FlyTampa Quote
Japo32 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Great!!! love the cameras.. love the music.. and the tempo!! Quote
hobofat Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Great video! I especially like the American Airlines textures, good job on the bare metal, that looks tough to do. Quote
Simmo W Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Yes, looks very promising! Love the pans around the control towers and use of high zoom. Simon Quote
Kiedels Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I can't wait until you show us the 3D cockpit. What is the estimated release date for this plane? Quote
Kaphias Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I believe I'm in shock. By far #1 on my wish list! Quote
YYZatcboy Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Since those are MSFS Payware sceneries, Did they convert perfectly or did you have to fix a lot of stuff? ( I ask only because I am considering buying them and then converting them on my mac.) Quote
dan Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Excellent video, stunning model! ;DHoping you'll do another one to show off the 3D pit when it's close to finished... Quote
Kiedels Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I don't think you should buy the scenery packages, because it would cost way too much. Quote
Cameron Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I don't think you should buy the scenery packages, because it would cost way too much.Huh? Guess you shouldn't buy the 777 or other products shown here too then, right? They would cost too much...In all seriousness, I appreciate everything that FlyTampa and the Cloud9 guys make. I do suggest purchasing the packages if you're looking for an immersible experience in X-Plane or even FS. They work hard at what they do, and do a good job at it. So far I've had pretty good luck with the Cloud9 stuff, with the exception of Orlando for FS X. These packages convert quite well as is, Joe. Quote
dan Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Don't these sceneries come with windows installers that require MSFS to install properly? Could make it difficult for you if you're on a Mac and don't have a Windows PC close by.... ???However I did buy FlyTampa's TNCM scenery and it did convert pretty good, but if I remember correctly I had to run Windows in Parallels to get it installed... Quote
Rafael Fernandez Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I have all fly tampas converted Quote
Kiedels Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Okay, you can buy it if you have windows, because you have to convert it in windows. But are there any webpages that have a download link for already converted scenery? I have downloaded a converted TNCM scenery, and it didn't come out very well. The reason I said that it was too expensive is because I think you should wait for FlyTampa-like scenery coming to X-Plane. Recently I listened to a podcast that featured an interview with the creator of X-Aviation, and he said that after they are finished with the Real Scenery, they will start making scenery like what FlyTampa does. And trust me, it will look WAY better, because converted scenery does look kinda like what it looks like in FSX, but I think some of the things like the static aircraft look worse. If you wait for the scenery coming to x-plane it will benefit you way more. Quote

bsupnik Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Yeah I know him...he's always Skyping me at all hours and he's like "can we change the water color? Can we use 20,000,000,000,000 triangles in our base mesh? Can we make an add-on that will cause x-Plane to act like a coffee maker?" Sheesh! What does he think the scenery system is? A platform? :-) Quote
