Ahmed Saleh Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 Hello, Been trying to get the 737 to work but each time I hover the mouse pointer on the left menu, I get the attached message failure. I uninstalled and reinstalled both Visual C++ libraries and the addon and no clue. Any support is appreciated. Quote
Pils Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 Please provide log.txt from XP and remove all other third party plugins except gizmo. Quote

Litjan Posted October 13, 2023 Report Posted October 13, 2023 Hello Ahmed, I think Pils is correct, it seems to be a problem on your computer that does not run Visual Basic correct - maybe a problem with your Windows installation. This is the first time I heard this being reported, if it really was a problem on Gizmo´s side or with the 737, more people would have complained about it. If you file a support ticket with X-Aviation, the staff there may have a better idea what you could do to fix it, we are no computer experts here . All the best, Jan Quote

Ben Russell Posted October 14, 2023 Report Posted October 14, 2023 (edited) This is not a runtime libraries problem. It is a bug with the old "global" version of Gizmo. Edited October 14, 2023 by Ben Russell Quote

This is a rare bug and I've never been able to create a set of rules that will trigger it. For most people it is not a problem. What is your FPS like in the sim when this bug appears? Quote

Ben Russell Posted October 14, 2023 Report Posted October 14, 2023 @Cameron how common is this bug? Quote
fsedano Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 Hello folks -- Same issue here, same assert failed regarding frame rate. My setup might be unusual - I run 3 projectors and I access the sim using VNC. I can reproduce it 100% of time. IXEG is unusable for me 1 Quote
Ahmed Saleh Posted October 20, 2023 Author Report Posted October 20, 2023 Hi, I am also having a tripple screen setup and I think this product hasn't been tested with multi-screen. The problem does definitely look to be there. Can you pls solve this compatibility issue? 1 Quote
Ahmed Saleh Posted October 21, 2023 Author Report Posted October 21, 2023 @Ben RussellI strongly believe it is related to multiple screens setups. And it's rare because such setups are rare too. Quote
Cameron Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 I believe the issue is actually related more to FPS. Using multiple screens increases fill-rate, so that does jive. This then exposes the bug. We will not be able to have a near term fix for this, but we will have a longer term one. But yes, you're right. As of now, I've documented this issue with only four customers, so it is quite rare. Some of the other folks were actually able to "solve" the bug with fresh installs of X-Plane, but I believe what really happened there was the fresh X-Plane install had lower resolution settings entered, which then resulted in some better FPS. I'd also be curious to know if any of you have VSYNC on, and if so, what happens when it's not? Quote

As a workaround, I press ignore and continue doe mow. I am sure you will get this sorted in the future. All the best! Quote
Ahmed Saleh Posted October 21, 2023 Author Report Posted October 21, 2023 Forgot to give you some details Cam... I have a tripple 4k screens running natively. I do not use v-sync but I will give it a try and revert. Thank you! 1 Quote
fsedano Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 Hi, in my case as you can see FPS is around 30-40. So something else is going on here.. Maybe VNC related? Quote
Ahmed Saleh Posted October 22, 2023 Author Report Posted October 22, 2023 @CameronThere is no change with V-sync on. I get a stable 60 fps in the desert and this always happens when I hover over the left screen. Quote
