Gjalp Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 is that an in-sim shot? XP9 or 10???? The plane is looking absolutely amazing!!!!Really really really want this one now.....especially as I have come to a comfortable compromise with XP10 FPS and rendering quality (Win 7 Home, AMD dual core 2.8, GTX260, 2 Gb system ram 24" Viewsonic LCD, Philips 17" LCD, Saitek Yoke, 2x Throttles, Rudder pedals.....)Slainte,AndyNZCH Quote
Pete_SMS Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 Nope, this is no in-sim shot. This is still some time ahead, but shouldn't be too far away. What you see is an artistic render. For me, add-on development is a combination of beautiful art work and technology, which will allow to give an aircraft its soul and personality. Quote
Gjalp Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 And that you have done beautifully.....heart and soul And chance of zipping the images and posting them for us "3d pervies" to download and droll over on the home PC ? Slainte,AndyNZCH Quote
Hueyman Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Mm love the prop effect ! We even can see the blade angle on the top tight blade ..Great work ! Quote
Bamboo Cougar Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 So Pete. Hope all's going well and you've managed to stop drooling on V10 manual while imagining what that little darling of a Beaver is going to look like flitting along in the scud up and down the BC coast.OMG, I can't wait.c'mon, y'all... send Pete some energy drinks bc Quote
Pete_SMS Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 Oh yes, I was imagining flying that little darling along the coast and valleys of BC and Alaska. Sorry for that! Well, it is weekend and I thought you might wanna see the neutral colour base exterior with normal and spec maps added to it. Livery painting starts soon, and this is the neural colour base you will get, in order for you to create your favorite paintjob.Hope you enjoy! 1 Quote
Cameron Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Looking great, Pete! Keep up the good work! Quote
namaui Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Wow, you really nailed that "wavy" look of the fuselage I've seen on so many older planes. Very nice. 1 Quote
derek Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 stunning, you clever lad you!Is it going to have pilots in the final version? Quote
Hueyman Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Totally incredible work.. Really impressed !The white lines on the edges of the prop blades are too thin, usually, they are same width as the grey part, but just to be a tweaker !Looking forward to this one, as the DC-3, really good golden age planes come along this year ! Quote
lloyddorward Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 good work im so excited this will go great with my inside passage scenery!!!! Quote
Pete_SMS Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Good catch on the white prop stripes. Actually, the white stripes are even bigger than the grey one in between....and to answer another question with respect to pilots: Yes, it will have a pilot. Not pilots, because this Beaver is flown without a co-pilot and without dual controls. Also, this pilot will only be visible in external view. Quote
hobofat Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Also, this pilot will only be visible in external view.Thank you thank you thank you thank you. I'm really disliking this trend of putting models of people in the planes, not worth the polygons and not great looking. But I don't mind seeing a pilot from the external view! Quote
Hueyman Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Hello !I'm wondering if you will include several versions, like this good looking one with older two bladed prop, variable pitch :http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3428/3374310283_349d7a0253.jpg Quote
Gjalp Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Hahahahaha, that was the one we talked about earlier in the posts....I painted an RC plane of this one for a guy....that orange was a right beggar to paint!!! Its called "international Orange" the states and "Scarlet Crimson" in the UK.If this one comes out I can see a few flights down around the Antarctic Slainte.AndyNZCH Quote
Bamboo Cougar Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Wow, you really nailed that "wavy" look of the fuselage I've seen on so many older planes. Very nice.AFAIK, this is the first time the stressed skin shows the frame, just like it did in the day. I've looked at literally hundreds of Beaver photos of different angles and composition and I have to say Pete... the artwork here is as real as it gets. Even the dammed ties (sorry for the expletive, but you know that Beavers and dams go together eh ) hanging from the wings are built to look 'period'.WOW! I expect your technology can only come close to the sheer magnificent beauty shown here, for if it matched it then you would have to travel to N. Carolina for the Nobel Prize in Complex System Simulation, or what we could call 'Rodent Droppings' (seriously LOL).Rooting for you all the way Pete.bc Quote
eaglewing7 Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Sold, where can I buy one lol...The last time I was at YVR, I walked down to the float area, and watched a Sea Air Beaver do a full start up and takeoff, which was awesome, especially the supersonic whine of that three blade prop. Pete_SMS Posted December 7, 2011 Author Report Posted December 7, 2011 Jim has some nice Beaver videos. His walkaroud video is cool too.Beside that, he has like 5000+ hours in the Beaver if I am not mistaken. Makes me a bit jealous R-985 sound is just awesome. Quote
Pete_SMS Posted December 7, 2011 Author Report Posted December 7, 2011 Thanks bc. I will try to make sure that technology is at the same level as the art. They have to coexist in harmony. That is very important for me. However, a good amount of modelling and coding tech still ahead. Quote
Simmo W Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Great video, I'll bookmark so I don't stuff up my starts. I love it's interior! Quote
Gjalp Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 After watching the video I was amazed at how easy he made starting the Beaver look......surely there ust be some kind of ceremony or sacrafice to be made to the radila engine gods before starting this woonderous beast?Slainte.AndyNZCH Quote
