Oliver Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Today I was doing some cleaning up on my HDD, and just for fun I wanted to see how much my X-Plane folder weighed... Here's the result... If you can beat that, post a screenshot of the details of your X-Plane folder ;D Quote
simbabeat Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Wow! What do you guys have in there! I thought mine was HUGE at 99gb!My acf folder is 19. Quote
Oliver Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 Wow! What do you guys have in there! I thought mine was HUGE at 99gb!snipMy acf folder is 19.I've got TOO many addons ;D Quote
steven winslow Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 You guys are lightweights! Most of my bulk is scenery..... Quote
bokepacha Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Ah, the power is strong in you...I think I'm close to the top tiers too ;D Quote
uwespeed Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Not this bad as well ;DAs you can see, most of the space is used by scenery Quote
Oliver Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 Ah I've been put to shame! At least we all know what takes up most of our hard drives... ;D Quote
Jack Skieczius Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Lol and X-plane thread on, "my is bigger then yours" Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 I'm not even going to take the time to take a screenshot because you all put me to shame. 2.87 Gigs in my X-Plane Storage folder (Add-ons I'm not using for my current flight), and 17.2 in my X-Plane folder. And it is still extremely slow with only a total of 20.07 gigs. Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Okay, I think we have a winner. Quote
bokepacha Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Staffs cannot join the competition!!! ;D ;D Quote
Oliver Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 Can anyone beat Amerrir!? ;D ;D Quote
amerrir Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Nath, I knew yours would be bigger.... ;D All those photo textures, huh? Stop filling up your scenery folder & get the jag done Quote
Tonka Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Sorry Will, couldn't resist! :Yep, 380Gb of Scenery, and a couple of planes. The Jag is getting there, just need to make sure i keep enough space on the hard drive for it as more things are added! ;D Quote
PhM Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 I never leave all the sceneries in my X-Plane folder, only those I am going to use. It makes the job easier for X-Plane as there are less things to fiddle with, and makes me confident that it won't load stuff that is not needed, like keeping a huge list of what was found in this folder, or anything else not related to what I want it to use.PhM Quote
Tonka Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 X-Plane doesn't care how many different sceneries there are, and it does a decent job of only loading the relevant sceneries. There is a slight hit to load times, but nothing really noticeable. A bigger hit occurs if you have lots of airports and are using the Airport Navigator plugin. Each to their own though! Quote
Nicola_M Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 I think I'm the lightest lightweight..... 1 Quote
Ben Russell Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 2.01 gb - the demo, gizmo, a couple of acf files - that's about it. Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 What do I win?Doing worse than me. Unless you have a separate folder for stuff you aren't using like I do. Quote
MdMax Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 OK now that's diversity !!! 8) It's possible to use a 2 GB X-Plane or a 389 GB X-Plane !Now another more important question ! Who is a happy virtual pilot ? I am ! Quote
