  1. TNCS – Saba Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport View File This scenery will work with X-Plane 11 (and most probably with X-Plane10 – although not tested). Place TNCS_Saba_uwespeed from the downloaded zip file into the Custom Scenery folder of your X-Plane installation. You also should install (if not already done): OpensceneryX (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/2226-opensceneryx/) RD library (http://rdesignx.weebly.com/freeware.html) Flags of the World (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/17090-flags-of-the-world-real-flag-ii/) 3D People Library (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/26611-3d-people-library/) Handy Objects (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/24261-the-handy-objects-library/) IMPORTANT: If you have already installed the scenery St Barth - Saba - St Eustache by XPFR (http://www.xpfr.org/?body=scene_accueil&sc=314), which I highly recommend, due to the included orthophotos and mesh, you must place my scenery above it. As written above, there is already TNCS available by XPFR – so what‘s the reason to install my version? Well … that‘s easy ;-): my version contains the whole island, not only the airport and has some more nice animations at the airport (passengers entering and leaving the static Twin Otter and a girl walking around the parking lot with her dog). For some more information read the included readme file. Submitter uwespeed Submitted 06/25/2017 Category DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s)

  3. Meanwhile I found 2 guys who helped me. Nevertheless some screenshots:
  4. ... (preferably with Winair livery *) but can't find any here in the downloads or in one of the available libraries. Anyone knows where to find one? Of course I know the Sketchup 3D warehouse, but if there was already a Twotter as .obj - would be great (repainting it wouldn't be a big issue). * As an inducement to help me and knowing which airport to expect, see below a detail of the scenery ...
  5. I used real weather, that's the reason why there were some stratus clouds. Removing them and setting the visibility to something higher, solved it. As you are saying "shadows won't appear if visibility is low" - how low is "low"? It seems to me that the shadow intensity is not only influenced by the according slider in SMP3, but also (more or less?) linear with the slider for the visibility in the weather menu. Is my observation correct?
  6. Unfortunately I still have the problem with invisible cloud shadows. Turning off HDR didn't help, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling SMP3. Screenshot of my SMP settings: The log: Log.txt
  7. Thanks . Currently it is only with flat 2D people, I may add 3D people in an even later update.
  8. Some ground traffic at LGSR. This - and more will be contained in the next update of Santorini. No release date yet.
  9. Actually, the secret (of looking so good in this case) is not the settings themselves (no magic inside ), but the time lapse. SkyMaxx is a great product, though - and now with V2.1 the cloud shadows are much more smooth in movement on the ground and the time lapse looks good, too. With V2.0 it wouldn't have looked this good.
  10. No words, simply watch
  11. File Name: Library - European Vehicles (static) File Submitter: uwespeed File Submitted: 27 Oct 2014 File Category: Objects X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Based on my static European vehicles I made a library. Advantage for scenery developers: they can use the vehicles for filling parking sites on airports (or where ever they want), without wasting some megabytes for every scenery. Advantage for users: they have to install the library only once, and don't get their disk space filled up with vehicles in every scenery. Installation: place the library in your Custom Scenery folder. Important for scenery developers: if you want to use this static library, be sure to use the "european_vehicles_static" entry as seen below. Otherwise you may get cars from the Vehicle Library Extension, which contains cars casting lights (what isn't very realistic on parking sites ). Click here to download this file

  13. My first attempts also weren't exactly a walk away . The easy part is to pilot left/right, the (much) more difficult part is to control - and reduce - the descent rate to a decent value (but again not too much), especially close to landing. Yesterday evening I did some more flying, this time not only an approach, but more or less the simulation of the DHL A300 incident (still with the Baron). I started and during climb at 1500 ft, I released all controls - it will be fairly visible. After the 3rd attempt, I stopped due to lack of time. Video should be available in about 45 minutes.
  14. In 2003 a DHL Airbus 300 was hit by a missile after departure at Baghdad airport. All 3 hydraulic systems, and thus the elevator, aileron and rudder failed. Nevertheless, the pilots managed to control and land the plane only by applying asymetric thrust. A different disaster was Japan Airlines flight 123, also with failing hydraulics similar to the DHL flight. Unfortunately in the Japan Airlines flight, only 4 out of 524 people survived. As I don't have a (virtual) A300 and don't claim being able to do such things with an A300, I tried this with the default Beech Baron of X-Plane - admittedly not in Baghdad, but in Santorini (a runway is a runway though, independant where it is located). In the first attempt, I crashed about 150 m before the runway, in the second attempt I crashed 2-3 meters near the runway, in the third attempt I crashed on the runway and finally in the fourth attempt ... but see for yourself - watch the yoke and the pedals, they don't move, only the engine levers. Who would like to try this oneself? It's fun, which I don't want to have in reality, only in the sim ... P.S. Due to video driver issues the water reflections look a bit weird and I had 2 slight stutters
  15. LGSR Santorini View File Currently my time is a little bit limited, thus I decided to release a version 0.9 of "Santorini X-Plane". Installation Place GR_LGSR_Santorini_0.9 and zz_GR_+36+025_GR_Thira_gx17 from the downloaded zip file into the Custom Scenery folder of your X-Plane installation. For updating to V0.92, see further below. You also should install (if not already done): 1. OpensceneryX library (http://www.opensceneryx.com) – latest version. 2. FF library (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=12836) 3. Flags of the world library (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=17090) 4. Ruscenery (http://ruscenery.x-air.ru/files/RuScenery.zip) 5. People library (http://www.x-plane.at/drupal/node/191) 6. R2Library (http://xplane.cz/en/r2-library/) For the time being you should turn „runways follow terrain contours“ off, until I have edited the mesh (and added more features) in the next release. Remark - you will see the cruise ships only from around noon on, but not in the morning (like in reality). For further information please read the included pdf. New in 0.91 Resolved issue with cars Runway lights for 34L and 16R Runways fit better to orthophotos New in 0.92 Sharper looking othophotos with the "decals" technology (see this posting), and this screenshot. Download ONLY the terrain.zip file. Unzip it into in the "terrain" subfolder of zz_GR_+36+025_GR_Thira_gx17 and overwrite all existing files. Have fun ... 17. Regarding racetracks ... I did a (quite simple) model of Oschersleben in Germany as you can see in the video below. But I doubt it will be ok according to todays standards ... Nevertheless - enjoy the video
  18. Ha!! ... thanks. Glad you like it.
  19. Ok .... it's already some time after the last update, thus I wanted to let you know that I'm still working on it. There is still quite a lot to do, but meanwhile, enjoy the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpcUxtuUd-I
  20. File Name: Cape Town Heliport File Submitter: uwespeed File Submitted: 18 Nov 2013 File Category: DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Nothing special here - just a quick'n'dirty heliport (only the helipads, no taxiways, no custom buildings) in Cape Town, where I had the treat of a (real) sightseeing flight around the Cape Peninsula in November 2013. I did this "scenery" (primarily) for myself - and for those who want to do virtual sightseeing flights in Capetown from the original location. There are 4 or 5 heli charter companies operating there. In reality there is no ICAO code for it, so I created FACH (CH = Cape Town Heliport). As I meanwhile found out, there is an ICAO code FACH (Cookhouse Airport), which is not in X-Plane. Thus, I had to change the ICAO code for the Heliport to FAC1. Click here to download this file

  22. Some new impressions: Night (street lights are hand placed, as there are almost no street lights in the stock scenery in Santorini) Goooood moooorning !!!! Have you seen the unfinished house in the front? Very common in this area of the world ... Thira - the capital (the generic church still to be replaced by the original one)
