Mindyourstep Posted November 1, 2020 Report Posted November 1, 2020 Hello, I noticed from outside it is as if there are no windows. Is that normal, or did I miss a file in the install? Thank you, Sander Quote
jgniewkowski Posted November 3, 2020 Report Posted November 3, 2020 Are you launching the cargo variant? You will see three variants passenger, cargo and airborne (early warning military version). The cargo will not have windows. Quote
Mindyourstep Posted November 3, 2020 Author Report Posted November 3, 2020 (edited) Well I mean the pax-variant. It is not that it does not have windows, but they look like empty holes, so there is no presentation of glass transparant layer, reflections, braking light on glass surfaces. I’ll check the other variants, now you mention it, Edited November 3, 2020 by Mindyourstep Quote
jgniewkowski Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 Ah! I have noticed that in the wing tip coverings for the nav lights as well as the beacon on the rudder fairing. Maybe something they will address in version 2.0 Quote
kg135035 Posted February 23, 2021 Report Posted February 23, 2021 (edited) I have noticed this too in the outside views. It's like, there no pax windows, cockpit windscreens, nav lights glass cover. Like previous comment states, just holes where windows should be. It is most noticeable on the wing tip nav lights and flashing beacon. I posted a couple of screen shots. Was hoping this would be fixed by now. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks, Kevin Garner Edited February 23, 2021 by kg135035 Quote
mjrhealth Posted February 23, 2021 Report Posted February 23, 2021 Cant see any window issues but nav lights glass hard to notice Quote
kg135035 Posted February 23, 2021 Report Posted February 23, 2021 (edited) Seems like there is no glass lenses around nav lights and the beacon. I have latest version of the plane, 1.6 and latest Nvidia drivers. Windows to me just seem flat. There are some reflections but very, very little. And only when zooming in quite close. (as you can see in previous replies here) Still a great plane to fly though. Great update. Thanks X-Aviation. Kevin G. Edited February 23, 2021 by kg135035 Quote
Cameron Posted February 23, 2021 Report Posted February 23, 2021 That looks as intended. The lenses are also there on the lights. You can see them at various angles. Quote
Tim013 Posted February 24, 2021 Report Posted February 24, 2021 I agree with the OP, in so far as to say a little more visible glass would be a nice touch. Take away that clarity that you never see in the real world on a workhorse aircraft like the SAAB. XPlane doesn't have many strong points these days, but PBR, and lighting is still one of them, shame to not take full advantage of it. With that said, if we're down to nitpicking the clarity and visibility of the glass in the model, from an exterior view, then I look at that as a good sign, because that's really a small fish to fry. Cameron Posted February 24, 2021 Report Posted February 24, 2021 @Tim013 Look for changes like that in v2. After 8 years of free updates on this version, we are sunsetting any new visual changes. At this point it's purely a bug fixing and closing the door situation for this iteration of the Saab. Quote
