JGregory Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Let me think a bit...Columbia 400, maybe...A Cirrus, maybe...Do we need more clues, yes.Last I checked Cirrus aircraft do not have speedbrakes. This is the Columbia 400/Cessna Corvalis (so it's not that either)...Keep guessing Quote
eaglewing7 Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Can't really find any good shots of aircraft speed brakes in a similar nature to the one modelled, but I think this might be a Lancair or some sort? Getting closer? Quote
JGregory Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Can't really find any good shots of aircraft speed brakes in a similar nature to the one modelled, but I think this might be a Lancair or some sort? Getting closer?Lancair uses the same speedbrakes as the Columbia/Cessna (manufactured by Precise Flight), so it's not that either. Quote
eaglewing7 Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 In that case I have a feeling it is either a homebuilt or something experimental?I can't think of anything else it could be, or I am missing something quite obvious... Nah, we need more hints lol. Quote
eaglewing7 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I think it's a Lancair...Greg said it wasn't so... Quote
MaidenFan Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I think it's a Lancair...Greg said it wasn't so...Oops!! hehe Quote
JGregory Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Hey Jason,Do the speedbrakes you are showing in the pics appear "exactly" as they are on the aircraft ? I don't see how they would be that effective as there is very little surface area.As far as a Lancair is concerned... the speed brakes in the picture appear to be "too close" to the fuselage and do not look at all like a Precide Flight speedbrake. The mystery continues... dainja556 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 My best guess is a Lancair Legacy. Quote
OlaHaldor Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I bought the Oahu photo scenery as a treat to myself. I needed something new, so what's better than a little "don't be sad" kind of purchase to play with all day long? I got carried away, and have been more active in LightWave than X-Plane though. Started making some rough ideas on how the buildings will populate Honolulu intl. This is VERY rough. I shouldn't even post this, but I'm weak... Quote
Cameron Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Looking good, Ola!Glad to see you're having fun! Cheers to post # 1,000 for me. I'll decide if that's good or bad later. Quote
RealScenery Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Awesome, Ola. ;D Can't believe how fast you're putting that together... Look forward to seeing more. Quote
Airbus Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Nice stuff Olah. Its a Lancair Legacy 2000The speed breaks are still under work. Still need some a few bits of ajustment. Ive added a picture of the actual brakes. Quote
eaglewing7 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Well I'll be, it is a Lancair Legacy...As Greg said before, how on earth do those speed brakes slow the plane down when there is such minimal surface area? Quote
dainja556 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Its a Lancair Legacy 2000Woohoo, I win!Great lookin model so far! Quote
OlaHaldor Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Can't sleep, so I started playing with night lighting. I have a few more ideas on how to do night lighting on any surface, like in front of buildings. I've tested a little, and it looks very promising. Will show you more when I'm happy with it Quote
OlaHaldor Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Getting started with detailing on the terminal at Honolulu. Quote
MaidenFan Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Getting started with detailing on the terminal at Honolulu.Wow, Ola, it looks like you're pretty serious about this now. Quote
OlaHaldor Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Here's another two for ya. I didn't have much time today as I'm off for a wedding I'm shooting at this saturday, though I spent too much time on figuring out those roads and connecting them, and a few more structures. And here you can check the airport in birds view on Bing. Some details won't be needed to model, nor be 100% accurate, since you'll be flying above or parking on the opposite side of the terminal anyway. But please, be picky if you notice anything. Quote
FlorianR Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Ola, looks amazing! one question, where would you obtain images to texture the objects? Quote
OlaHaldor Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I have absolutely no idea. I guess I'll be using some generic concrete and window textures. It's not really that much difference between all the buildings. Quote
