  1. Hi there, May I ask - Is this version still the latest version of the J32? Thanks very much. Kind regards, James
  2. The past two posts seem to have jogged my memory a little. From what I remember I had paused XP.....overnight! One of those: I need to go and do something and never got back to my flight that night type of affairs! When I came back to my machine the following day sure enough Windows was complaining about being critically low on virtual memory. Only closing XP resolved it. (I think I also rebooted too.) The flight had been approx 10 minutes after a startup, taxi and takeoff from EGJJ. I had paused after recording a video on FRAPS to demonstrate an audio issue for Jim Gregory. I hope that helps. Cheers James
  3. Hi Ben, I had this happen to me one time too and thought I had too much running, didn't suspect anything wrong with XP/Saab/Gizmo - so didn't report it. Interesting, if I see it again I will grab the logs and screens as you have asked above. For the record, I have a very similar set-up Win764 8GB RAM + 1.5GB GPU with low install of Saab done. Sorry if I cannot offer more at this stage, but thought it might help to say "me too" if only to communicate it as not an isolated incident. Cheers James
  4. I think this has been mentioned in another thread - I have had this myself. I *believe* it happens when the Condition Levers have been assigned before doing the auto-start. If you re-load the Saab and go straight for the engine auto-start, does the same thing happen? Cheers James
  5. Fair enough Jim, thanks for the feedback. Sorry I didn't remember the entire contents of the thread before I posted about the settings not being saved. (Had been watching some TV in between reading threads and just didn't read the whole thread properly. Sorry) Cheers James
  6. For what it worth I can also report unusual behaviour with the condition levers being set with the CH TQ. I see issues with the settings being "forgotten" after a re-load of the aircraft and after the auto-engine start being ran. Strange. I also see the levers *not* work when selecting "Use Joystick" and other times vice versa. Even to the point where perhaps the left lever has "Use Joystick" selected and right not, in order to be able to move them with the hardware. All in all I would have to agree that at this stage something doesn't seem right with how this operates. Happy to test or assist in any way I can. Thanks very much. Kind regards, James
  7. I wondered this myself actually. Easy to miss after figuring everything else out in a new aircraft, especially with the ground services tick boxes, until you learn the flow of the screens and settings something as simple as the condition levers could get missed. Cheers James
  8. Brilliant news! Thanks Jim. And on a Sunday night too..... Fantastic. Kind regards, James
  9. Thanks Jim, I appreciate it. Kind regards, James
  10. Yes that's right - the underscores exactly. Sorry, I should have said. Kind regards, James
  11. Hi Jim, I have marked the video Public now. Thank you. Kind regards, James
  12. Video posted here on YouTube, but marked private for the moment until I share it. Thanks very much. Kind regards, James
  13. Attached is my current Log.txt file (during this flight) and my rendering settings just in case it is of any use. Thanks very much. Kind regards, James Log.txt
  14. Hi there, Just a small bit of text to tidy up on the virtual check list shown in this screenshot. Thanks very much. Kind regards, James
  15. Hi there, May I first offer my most sincere congratulations on a fantastic result with the Saab 340 - what a pleasure to use! I must say that I love the virtual check lists with all those camera angles, I think the extra effort to create them was well worth it, I for one will be using them as standard during my flight procedures - including the walk around - although I confess to not looking forward to those wet Friday nights too much! I can see this becoming a new standard by which other add-ons are measured against. I feel a bit awkward posting a problem/issue so early after release, but as I have the horsepower to record a video I wanted to show you a consistent audio popping noise I get when the engines are running. I also have to admit that it is rather distracting and erodes the suspension of disbelief. It would seem that there is either an issue with the playback of one of the engine audio samples, or there might even be a clip on a sample itself - I can't tell - but if you watch this video you will hear a distinct pop about 4-5 times during the 60 seconds. There might even be two different pops, one being quieter than the other, which made me suspect that it might be an audio playback issue, and given that it is a brand-new audio system there might be a glitch in there somewhere. In terms of machine spec it's a pretty rapid machine. I am getting 30fps (even with FRAPS) and I installed the low-res textures. I do not experience any perceptible "slowness" so I don't think my machine is struggling to play the loops. (My signature has the full spec) I see that I am not permitted to upload the video as an attachment here. Please could whomever responds please let me know their YouTube userid and I will share the video there to demonstrate. (No need to post it publicly on YouTube as it serves no real purpose for anyone else.) Thanks very much for your help. Kind regards, James
  16. Hi Nicola, I use XP10.22 64bit. I am going to try out the MD-902 Explorer and see how I get on to start off with. Thanks for all the links, I will definitely look at the training scenery too. Kind regards, James
  17. Hi there, Hueyman, Nicola and Martin, Wow! This is really helpful, thanks for the advice. I can certainly empathise on the steep learning curve - it took about 2 years of "very now and then" picking up the FSX heli-missions, very gradually progressing up to the oil rig recue mission - not for the faint-hearted! To start off yes I would like a fairly easy-to-fly/learn helicopter as it will likely maximise my enjoyment as I explore my scenery whilst building up some skills on the stick and collective! If I may ask another question, is there any X-Plane-centric "missions" or training exercises that I can look at that you'd recommend? Many thanks, looking forward to getting started! (I'll update this thread with any relevant feedback if that's OK.) Kind regards, James
  18. Hi there, I'd like to dip my toe into flying a helicopter in X-Plane - having not tried it ever in XP. I really enjoyed some of the FSX helicopter missions, which I found to be a steep but very enjoyable learning curve - more so than airplanes. I'd like to start off with a helicopter that I can use for exploring scenery with - I am starting to build a good collection but tend to whiz past it a lot in jets! So if anybody could make some recommendations I would be grateful. I am a bit of sucker for eye candy too, so a nice cockpit would be cool in terms of considerations. Thanks for your help. Kind regards, James
  19. Hi Ben, That would be awesome indeed! I personally am quite procedure-driven so having the checklists on hand and have them "interactive" was great for me - slightly less lazy if you will than FS2Crew (as it were!) For aircraft such as the Javiers J32 and I dare say the upcoming classic 737 a checklist interface would be well used. Kind of why snailpup wrote his I guess.... Thanks for your input - even if it comes to nothing. Cheers James
  20. Hello there, I hope this isn't committing a cardinal sin by even asking the question but.... As snailpup the developer of the excellent plugin Checklister is no longer active and has not been seen on the .org forum or "anywhere" for that matter for almost a year - and he did announce his intended departure from the flight simulation community - is it possible/ethical for a person with the right skills to take his 32bit plugin and "convert" it to 64bit without his knowledge/permission? I understand that as part is the user agreement that this kind of thing should not be done without the authors permission, but all avenues to contact snailpup have failed. What is the consensus of opinion on this one, and would there be any takers to see if this could be done without the original source code? Thanks very much. Kind regards, James
  21. Hi AJ, I get a "ding" in my video at 16:26 - I wonder if your Condition levers are in the flight position when on the ground when they shouldn't be? Just a thought. Cheers James
  22. Shameless plug I know but..... If you go through my checklist videos you shouldn't have any of the switches in a position that would leave the aircraft "dinging" at you. I know of what you speak, having sat there for hours on end whilst in between different processes to create the checklists! Hope it helps. Cheers James
  23. I wonder how 2-4 SkullCanyon i7 Haswell units would cope in this scenario? Keen to see if the Intel HD5000 has *any* ability to cope with XP graphics, especially if the load was split over a group of these little babies!? Cheers James
