Jetstream 32 Take Off speeds
Cooley replied to michelebk117's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Determining Vr is dependent on many factors and is always calculated for every takeoff. Those factors include aircraft weight, runway length, flap settings, OAT, density altitude, wind...etc. Given all these variable conditions there is no single answer. That being said, when I just want to fly and not hassle with all the charts I perform a flaps 15 T/O using 110 Kts for Vr. -
This indeed would be a significant step in flying as a crew. Being able to sit in the left seat and have someone do all the work for half pay would bring back good memories ;-)

J32 Profiles & Maneuvers: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/4773-j32-fsm-profiles-maneuvers/ J32 Performance: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/4772-j32-fsm-performance/ I still haven't found the Takeoff Speed Cards yet, but I will keep looking through my closets. The performance chapter doesn't provide airport specfic charts. I doubt you will find that as each airline maintained their own set for the approved airports they served.

I can dig up the profiles and performance charts. I can't find the speed cards, but will keep looking. I will post what I have when I return from my trip in a few days.

dornier 328 jet or Jetstream 41 I'm being totally biased since I flew these aircraft

For takeoff, some pilots like to press TOGA to set the flight director command bars for the initial aircraft pitch attitude. In the J32 it's not that sophisticated. You can see in Cameron's wiki reference the TOGA function can integrate a lot more in Airbus & Boeing

How does one get access to the Rant section these days?

I know I'm new to x-pilot, but I have 30 posts -
It's seems new rules have locked me out...

Here is the help from the manual (p.47)... The button on the Power Levers is not modeled, so you will have to assign a button on your joystick. TOGA BUTTON. Activates T.O.G.A. mode (remember you have to switch on Autopilot servos in front panel.) But always is a good ide if you asign the function to a button of your joystick. The function is located same as Reverse mode button function, but in Autopilot middle menu, take_off_go_around. Remember that TOGA mode won’t exit until a new horizontal AND vertical mode are set or armed. The TOGA feature controls the Flight Director to command a pitch up 10 degrees for a go-around/missed approach.

I'm partial to turboprops and that's one of my favorites. -
The J32 does not have counter rotating props, so the right engine is the most critical just like any other piston twin engine. The real aircraft does have a lot of roll and yaw (especially single engine), but with any sim compared to the real aircraft it's more pronounced in x-plane.

suggestions to make jetstream the best.
Cooley replied to manguras's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Typical BAe-J3201 Engines are: Garrett TPE331-12UAR-704H -
I ventured over here simply because the J32 was not being offered at .org. I'm not sure what arrangement was made with Javier, but if more "exclusive" items are offerred here they will come.

oops...I didn't pick up on it that you were at an airport elevation of 13K FT. Yeah, the CRJ is not going to be able take off at that pressure altitude.
