Engine Failure Behavior (question for Jan)
Morten replied to tango4's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
Also note that the XP11 tyre/friction model is still under construction by Laminar and might affect this. We will review this after XP v 11.1 is out -
Hi Jens, I think at this point this question is better directed at xenviro which apparently is modifying the weather in a different way than standard default X-Plane does. We have no idea what/how they are doing it at this point. But, I guess we might find out when their SDK comes. The IXEG wxradar is pretty advanced. They have not contacted us. M

Try switching of wingtip vortices in the ixeg option

Be aware that aircraft weight and sloped tarmac has a significant impact on this (as in real)

27 more liveries added M

What kind of hardware/method do you use?
-
There is no such policy, if there is a problem on our end and there is a simple cure, we will ofcourse implement it.

Flap overspeed, blown flaps with following control problems and likely bad ending... Think maybe X-Plane simulates that if you enable it the failure settings..
-
On one license you can run on 3 of your own computers.

As you say, this could be many things, but most likely not IXEG related. You can attach any log file to your post here and let the "experts" have a look
-
This is intentional. We did a lot of research and tests on this. The real yoke is much harder to move and is bigger compared to sim hardware. You should not try to change roll sensitivity, roll rates, pitch rates etc if you want realistic behavior and use the recommended sensitivity settings. But it is off course up to you..

Can't get autobrake to work
Morten replied to mike10's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
Maybe have a look in the "_keys.prf" and "_Joystick.prf" file in xplane/output/preferences and see if there is something there that might explain it. Or maybe you have some 3rd party plugin that overrides XP's settings -
Mouse click and drag not working in fullscreen

What XP version? 11.05 seems to have a bit of issues.. -
List updated, we have past 400 liveries
-
We had one more report that there is something going on in 11.05 that didn't in 11.02. Please report to LR if this is the case. M

Hi Charles, X-Aviation can help you with installation issues. M

rudder use while hand flying (jan?)
Morten replied to mike10's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
That is correct. This is a XP11 issue, we are looking into it. -
How to paint on a transparent texture? (NML file)
Morten replied to vesalius's topic in General Discussion
Not sure I understand what you are trying to do, but to change something on the _NML, first cut away the area you want to change. Then create a new layer on the exact same area and set the opacity to something less than 100% (you will need to experiment). Also make sure the R and G channels are at 127 and the B either 0 or 255. Then merge the layers. -
One problem simulating turbulence - is that in real - the wings flexes and dampens the motion, so not all the forces will get to the fuselage (where you observe it). Like driving a car with no springs/dampers on a rocky road versus one that has them... two very different experiences... M

Laminar is still tweaking the XP11 flight model (as expected) and more changes are announced for XP v11.1. So we will revisit when things stabilize. M

Don't forget the angle, viewpoint and view mode, zoom and field of view all play a role on how they appear in XP, so your "documentation" is weak. You need to check these things in Blender, measurements, angles etc. Also, don't forget some 400 (!!!) liveries probably will need an update if they get modified and will look ugly until/if they will get updated.

Weather and Terrain radar, question for the devs
Morten replied to Ricardo2696's topic in General Discussion
Team is in vacation mode, Nils should answer this, but from what I know - both systems are very realistic in every aspect. -
Your opinion is noted and you *might* have a point, but like I said, in subjective matters like this that are hard to document (and you haven't) there are as many opinions as there are users, also within the team. You are not that I'm aware a 737CL pilot with 6000+ hrs in that cockpit which one of our team members and a a couple of bets testers are so we let them have the final say. Making decisions by the "forum poll" method without any documentation is not IXEG style way of doing things.

Why would you set ILS frq on departure..?
