  1. Just a suggestion, as I mentioned before I only see this problem when I'm playing with the time slider while testing....
  2. We're working on this in the next version, hang tight
  3. The imposters do regenerate a tad slower during major time changes. The term white clouds at night is misleading since they will change just like our normal puffs. I've noticed the effect too, but only when I'm playing with the time slider when testing, which I do a lot. When flying normally and allowing time to progress normally the effect is barely noticeable. If the are taking a long time to regenerate it's possible you're pushing your system and taxing VRAM....
  4. Not to upset you but Linux support isn't going to happen......lol
  5. It's not an image it's built in the apt.dat file for each airport..
  6. Honestly I haven't fiddled with sky colors in awhile, and for some reason I cannot get your video to load.... But I do remember distinct differences in the dawn-dusk textures.......All I can think of, again not watching your video for more info, is 1. Either LR has done something internally to the code. 2. What's presented is based on the skycolor.png blending percentages or 3. I failed to notice what you dug up... Again though I tested throughly back during the v1 run and I'm surprised by what you are displaying in your infographic. I'd be interested in what youd dig up if you do a fresh disk install with an old version of xpx....
  7. He's onto us.......quick hide
  8. I agree with Frank, I wasn't aware it wasn't on the product page for the new website.....
  9. The product page clearly states compatibility.......just sayin
  10. Wow! Very nice
  11. "Essentially, like it or not, in the consumer's mind you've "replaced" the existing weather system. I know I'm using the term loosely, but that's the perception. From a user's standpoint, you've replaced the X-Plane weather depiction, with the promise of improving it. Which means you now own it, problems and all, like it or not. " This is what tweaked me right here Marshall, we know what we've gotten into with releasing SMP and we like it for sure as,a matter of fact we love it....

  13. Marshall although I appriciate your perspective your tone implies a more negative response to SMP from the community. Nothing is further from the truth, SMP is very well received. Also keep in mind it's just me and Frank, so rare circumstances like this specific METAR report sometimes go unnoticed until reported by the community. We are extremely thankful when this happens so thanks! We do own SMP and we also own delivering the best cloud representation in X-Plane. That's why updates are numerous and released quickly and that's why we take the community seriously. Ok and finally with that said, personally I find your tone towards Frank in your last reply a bit, I dunno what's the word, condescending yeah that's it..... It's nice having a voice but keep in mind he's been in the software biz a long time I'm sure he's very knowledgeable in market dynamics. I will also say he does an awesome job at addressing issues fast and he driven to constantly improve upon our core product. Sorry if that doesn't meet your expectations or this fictitious perception the community has.
  14. We have a patch coming very soon that fixes fsgrw and smp/RWC hang tight! In the meantime you can use smp with real world weather (default)
  15. If it happens again provide us with a log.txt so we can look at this deeper please....
  16. If I ran X-Pilot the homepage would be filled with beautiful pictures of Kittens and puppies with an occasional unicorn thrown in there. From a marketing perspective it would lure people into the content of the website much deeper since they will be in a state of complete bliss... Plus bring tons of irrelevant traffic to the site, who doesn't like visitors? Additionally I think somewhere on your site you should have user submitted poems and rebrand your homepage with "X-Pilot we are deep man" you could potentially generate more traffic with the hipster crowd thus brining more traffic to your site..... Another good idea would be a link on your homepage that brings you to an additional board so we may discuss religion and politics, nothing brings people closer together than a good healthy pro life or evolution versus creationism debate...... You should really start making these changes and give 100%, I highly suggest you start ignoring those pesky add-ons you're so involved with.... Cameron you're doing it wrong, I'm not offering up any help but if you don't listen to me your efforts are going to be the next AOL......just sayin
  17. Wait what? You'll need RWC for the more accurate metar representation....
  18. Have you tried a different region? It's possible the metar is behind at whatever location you're trying to generate weather.....
  19. Contact support, please be patient and only submit one ticket:)
  20. I'll be honest I've never seen this behavior, there may be some sort of plugin compatibility issue. Are you on 10.50 or 10.45? Also let's see your log.txt
  21. A log might be helpful, also a pic of the smp config when this happens.......custom airport scenery I suppose? My best guess as you approach the airport the scenery begins to push on your hardware resetting smp clears the cache freeing up some resources.....
  22. Safe to say you need to explore your rendering settings inside x-plane, SMP memory usage is more accurate you are running out of vram causing poor performance.
  23. I dunno, any feature is going to require more resources, be it lens flare or crupuscular rays. If it's hitting your system too hard you might want to think about optimization again. I'm only saying this because I don't see the same issue, yes they do impact but totally doable....
  24. We've touched on this a million times, our interpretation of -cb- it's obviously one of the most polar topics with SMP... Frank has tried other approaches and settled on this for performance and visual appeal... Important to appriciate that it's actually modeled into the engine for the purpose of similation.
