  4. Here you go Jim... Windows 8.1 (64-bit) X-Plane 10.45b2 And here are my findings: - only right PL (i hope others can also confirm this) - only with CL between MIN and MAX - jitter happens at the GND IDLE stop and forward of it until about 3/4 way to FLT IDLE, then it's ok - once you get out of the "jitter zone" (by moving PL to FLT IDLE or further forward) the jitter won't reappear until you move PL back to GND IDLE and wait for the engine to spool down to idle speed (or very close to it) - 100% not hardware related - confirmed by reassigning my THR1 axis to THR2 and vice versa (it's always right PL in the sim)
  5. Allow me to quote Wikipedia (the link i provided earlier): For some reason you're thinking IAS = TAS in no wind conditions? (by the way, TAS is displayed right above GS on the EHSI)
  6. Jim, I have had this problem for as long as i can remember. I did not brought this before as i was expecting this to be contested "hardware problem". But while we're on this topic ... I'm using Thrustmaster Warthog. I've used a lot of controllers over the last 20 years, there really is no jitter on this piece of hardware. Happens only in X-Plane & only in the Saab. - goes full reverse with PL near GND IDLE (NEVER happened for me with PL >= FLT IDLE - so only on the ground) - i'm not 100% certain, but i think it's right PL only for me Currently running 10.45b2 As soon as i'll have some time (propably tomorrow) i'll test for this and give you more details.
  7. I completely agree with you (and your wife )! While being aware that my own expectations are propably niche-in-a-niche among simmers, i can't stop asking myself question: why simmers care so much about wingflex on the exterior model, but never really notice serious bugs/disprepancies in the FMC? Do majority of us treat X-Plane as a game, not a sim? The best 15 minutes i had in X-Plane this week: Flying online i was approaching my destination airport in LES Saab. While being handed-off from ACC to APP i realized there's something wrong with my NAV1 radio. It did not catch signal from a nearby VOR. Let's try another station. Nope, didn't work. Let's see if i can receive same VOR on the NAV2 radio. Yup, works fine. The airspace is busy, i am told i'm number 4, given various speed restrictions and headings (as well as own navigation to arbitrary fixes that we're not part of my flightplan). Doing all the necessary descent/approach work on the Saab, as well as maintaining awareness of your position is very time consuming on it's own. So, how am i establish on the ILS without my primary nav radio working? Visual approach was out of the question due low overcast layer... And there goes the study sim fun - five minutes later i was handed-off to tower while descending on the glideslope with autopilot on. Because the developer choose to focus on the systems in the first place, i was able to transfer autopilot nav source to the co-pilot's side. The autopilot followed the ILS from secondary nav receiver correctly announcing "LOC2" on EADI. And then i could still remain the left seat and monitor the approach/land just by selecting "2ND CRS" on the DCP. The ATC remained unaware of my problems. How cool is that? I wouldn't try this on any (so praised) payware Boeing or Airbus released so far for X-Plane. I mean, how can people not see the difference? Does looking at the (proverbial) wingflex proves more satisfactionary?
  8. Eddie, I wonder what is so special about being able to load your plane via MCDU? What's it got to do with realism? And how is IXEG different in this aspect from other X-Plane developers? Can you name any X-Plane airliner that does indeed have MCDU airplane load feature? I can't seem to recall any at the moment. MCDU loading is a just a way of interacting with the sim user to load the airplane. I very much prefer to have a simple interface that Cameron showed us couple of posts ago* and put the data from the loadsheet into the MCDU myself (that's how you do it in real life). * having number of PAX shown in the ground services menu would be handy for flight plan filing purposes (online flying)
  9. I hope that we - X-Plane community - stop thinking this way in the near future. Since i switched from FS franchise to X-Plane years ago i'm missing a PROPER airliner that could replace my favourite FS addons (PMDG, Leonardo, RFP ...). With all respect, FlightFactor and JarDesign offerings would appeal to very limited audience in the FS community. For bugs and lack of detail (INVALID ENTRY on the FMC as Tom said is very common, EGT values on engine startup, autopilot logic and a whole lot of details most X-Plane users don't notice or don't care about). I sincerely hope that IXEG will change this.
  10. Ryan, where is this? Chek Lap Kok (VHHH)? Conversion from FS?
  11. Looking at this cute little Saab, one might wonder where it's been to today? First it went to Frankfurt-Hahn, Germany (EDFH) Then it flew to Salzburg, Austria (LOWS) Before calling it a day at Warsaw, Poland (EPWA)
  12. Norway Pro scenery has been released recently (freeware, go grab it!) and so i thought it'll be good opportunity to dust off the excellent Reality Enhancement Pack for C210 Centurion while exploring. Started off at Skagen [ENSK] and did a short hop to Narvik [ENNK] just to get a glimpse of the scenery and refresh my skills flying REP Cessna (with manual at hand). Haven't seen much of the Norway Pro scenery on this route i decided to make 180 on the runway and head for Bodø [ENBO]. Casual VFR at 5500 feet using Google Maps + AIP Norway (i rarely do VFR in the sim) Unbelievable how easy this REP/Carenado masterpiece trims out. I did not touch the autopilot once during 2hr+ flight. Once i got to Bodø i realized landing this thing on a 2800m long runway is not best of what Norway has to offer. Why not head further south to a mysteriously named airport of Mo i Rana [ENRA] ? After having a quick look at Mo i Rana charts i started tracking inbound Strømmen [sTM, 345 kHz] NDB. Surprisingly i did not kill the engine yet. Nor did i destroy flaps, gear or anything else. The LOC-B approach looks very tempting. Why not switch IFR and see if i can handfly non-RNAV approach today? Soon enough i was climbing to Minimum Sector Altitude (6300 feet - when arriving from the north sector). Still tracking Strømmen NDB as it is our Initial Approach Fix (IAF). The closer i got to Strømmen, the more turbulent air i had to fight. Focused entirely on the instruments i was able to maintain 6300 feet +/- 50 feet all the time, but i was out of time to do a full approach briefing. Turning right on outbound leg after passing Strømmen. Descending 5000 feet according to procedure. Established on the localizer inbound. Strømmen NDB is being used once again, this time as Intermediate Fix (IF). Next, Final Approach Fix (FAF) is 6.6 nm DME RA at 3000 feet. Reaching Minimum Descend Altitude of 1310 feet. The funny thing is you won't be able to see the airport until reaching Missed Approach Point (MAPt) - the DME station itself. Then the airport becomes barely visible on your 9 o'clock (!!!). If you wonder why i didn't take any shots on short final, grab Norway Pro + UHD Mesh Scandinavia and try shooting approach into Mo i Rana yourself
  13. I went ahead and bought Europe livery pack #2 for FF/Skyteam 767 when it was released. I wanted Blue Panorama paint that much. This is what you get for your hard earned money: This is what you get for free (released yesterday at the .org): The freeware version is not 100% correct, but it's a difference between day and night when comparing both. Check out details, see how the logo on the engine is wrong in the payware version etc...

Random slides out of my todays online flights. 14:20 zulu over Ukraine, just reached cruising FL340 "Orange four-one-three, Pulkovo tower, winds 290 at 7 gusting 13 meters per second, continue approach, number two" Following 737 to the apron as the aircraft on final is instructed to go around due traffic on the runway City of lights at Amsterdam Schiphol airport Gate E4
  18. Congratulations! Well deserved Gold Star Award. Now give us the Citation already!
  19. Night shots does not necessarily look good when viewed on the forums (against bright background) but i'm amazed everytime i hand fly approach or taxi in X-Plane's darkness. Sitting in a dark room in front of a ultra panoramic display with TrackIR the immersion is unbelievably good. Been pushing 767 around lately, both on VATSIM and IVAO. Flying real-time means a lot of shades of grey at this time of year here in Europe. Westbound - catching last rays of sun that day on a climb out of Prague, Czech Republic (LKPR) Short final runway 23R at Manchester, UK (EGCC) Finding my way in the maze of taxiways at Manchester Final runway 18R at Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM). Surface wind 210 degress 21 knots (up to 45 on approach) PH-OYI resting for the night at Schiphol gate F9
  20. Thanks VETTE! Going back to the low volume problem. Yesterday i had to turn off all of the FF 767 sounds as lowest sound level in 767 preferences was still too loud to understand what ATC been saying to me... yes, X-Plane sounds completely muted (pure silence) just so i could hear xsquawkbox transmissions
