    ILS Capture

For localizer and glideslope navdata, xplane uses a "curated layer" which overrides the global data and custom data like navigraph. That way they want to make sure there's no mismatching between third party navdata and their default scenery. So if you find xplane localizer data to be wrong you have to report it via the gateway so that it gets fixed with one of the next releases.
  2. A G1000 equipped Cessna Caravan?
  3. Seems you have flooded your engine. As the message says you have to perform a dry motoring now to clear any fuel residue. All this is described in the POH, but here's what to do in short words: - Throttle in cutoff position - Ignition switch off - AUX BP switch on - Hold starter switch in on position for 2 seconds, then release - wait 10 seconds - Hold Starter switch in abort position momentarily, then release Now all residual fuel should have been cleared and you can try another regular start procedure.
  4. I would love to use one of the unused axis on my Saitek throttle quadrant. I have already asked once if they could possibly introduce dedicated commands for cut off, low and high idle and flight idle. That way I could create a custom axis which sends those commands at a certain axis value.
  5. You can assign buttons to do that. Don't remember the commands right now, but it's in the manual.
  6. I think it shows whatever the default xplane map shows when you enable the precipitation layer.
  7. Very good summary, totally agree with almost all you wrote. It's just this part which is totally different for me: I have already mentioned it in a different thread, setting rudder in the green (you say even right of it? ) I find myself heavily correcting with massive left rudder once the aircraft picks up speed. I have to set rudder just a bit right of center, then I am able to keep it under control. No way for me to follow the book here, rudder in the green is a no go.
  8. Sure, but I meant that xplane might be looking for an axis, not keys. I remember having had the same behavior back in the days when I haven't had rudder pedals, in that case xplane would mix in some "rudder" with yoke movement as long as you are rolling below 40 knots. Edit: Indeed xplane seems to look for an axis. https://questions.x-plane.com/9669/auto-rudder-setup-when-using-saitek-yoke
  9. I guess that's how xplane handles it in case you don't have a dedicated axis defined for rudder. Just curious, how do you manage to take of and land without a rudder axis? I think that is pretty hard with this plane.
  10. You would have noticed if it was ice or snow. In xplane its almost impossible to taxi on ice or snow. Try it and go to a snow covered airport. You will note the plane shoots forward as soon as you put the power lever in flight idle with parking brake on or even with chocks still applied. If you've landed and managed to get to the parking spot without overrunning buildings, it's actually a funny challenge to shut down the TBM 900 because that means you have to move the power lever from beta range over flight idle to the right side. The split second it takes is enough to shoot through whatever is in front of you.
  11. Those experimental settings are what they are - experimental. Generally it is never a good idea to play with planemaker settings for third party addon aircraft unless you really know what you do. If you want to try it out no one can stop you, just make sure you have a backup of the original aircraft files to restore when things go wrong.
  12. Press the system softkey on the MFD, then you will get some other softkeys to enter a LFE (landing field elevation) manually or automatically fill in the LFE of the destination airport from the FMS. Other than that there's not much to "operate" in terms if the ECS. Just make sure to turn on the bleed switch and maybe turn on the AC and adjust cabin temperature if you're feeling cold.
  13. Thanks for the tip! I think I will try it the other way round, wait for the next framedrop and see if disabling TOPO bring back frames.
  14. Sorry, not a real pilot but as long as your nose gear did not yet touch the ground you would hear the stall warning.
  15. Yesterday I have done my long awaited hardware upgrade (i7 8700k) and set up everything from scratch on this occasion. Today i did my first longer flight (ENBR to LOWI) and to my surprise, I had a frame drop again after about 90 minutes in flight. Frames dropped to below 20 and nothing can be done to get them back. The same frame drop as I had with my old i5 setup, so I can say it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. I have also not installed World Traffic 3 again because that seemed to be the culprit on my old system. (at least i thought so) Well, I managed to land somehow and shutdown the plane and as soon as the crash bar is down frames come back. Crash bar up and frames get back down. Restarting the simulator and everything is back to normal, I can fly around LOWI in very heavy weather with high xplane settings and still get 35-40 frames. Now, the only thing which my new setup has in common with my old setup is AlpilotX's HD-Mesh V4. Do you think this can be the issue? Maybe some conflict of the HD-Mesh with the TAWS system of the TBM 900? I'll investigate further...
  16. Oh, I have that problem since day 1 with the TBM. No solution found.

    Oxygen Mask

For me it always worked this way in all former versions: Click and drag the mask and release it over the virtual head symbol to put it on. Click and drad the mask and realease it over its holder on the ceiling to put it back. But I haven't tried it in 1.1.3 yet.
  18. That's one of the nice features I love about this plane. But if you don't want it to be loaded on the same place as you left it, simply deselect the "restore position on airport" checkbox in the TBM 900 plugin menu.
  19. Just curious, where do you have that info from? Haven't read anything about rc2 so far.
  20. Hmm, i thought that was already fixed in some earlier version? Id did realize they had mixed that up, but then changed back to the "logical" behavior. Turning the scroll wheel downside = nose up = aircraft wants to climb ... and vice versa
  21. If you, by chance, have the new Faroe Scenery by Maps2xplane and it happend there, then it's a known conflict of the scenery with xplane 11.26 which is resolved with 11.30.
  22. Could it be wind that you're hearing?
  23. The activate approach can be found under Proc, not Menu.
  24. Same as me, but then i saw the "ice" also covered the sun visors.
  25. Hotstart, you could at least clean the windows before you deliver an aircraft to us... Jokes aside, the windows look as if they are covered with some residue. (just as if somebody smoked a pack of cigarettes inside) I did notice this also before, but after today´s update it seems much more prominent to me. In a night environment it is clearly visible, but also in daylight if you look close.
