  1. I am certain it is something with your computer - since no one else reported this. Either you need to exempt your X-Plane folder from your virus scanner (avast, windows defender, ...) or there is a heat problem (if you run on Mac). Jan

    Custom speeds

Thanks, we will look at this! Jan
  3. Thanks for the reports and the investigative efforts! We will look at this one! Jan
  4. Not sure if turn direction is specified in the database. If it is not, the plane will default to a right turn, I believe. We will look at it, Jan
  5. There has been a time (after the Pittsburgh crash) when all maneuvering speeds were increased by 10 kts (crossover issue). So in case the rudder freaks out, you can still counteract that with the ailerons. But that was uniformly for all speeds (i.e. Up = 220kts). So I am not sure where the discrepancy comes from. You can certainly use flaps 10 to fly 160 (we do it in London, where the controllers have a hissy-fit if you don´t fly EXACTLY 160 to 4 DME...). You could also use flaps 15 to fly 150, but the gear warning will freak out if you pull out the power... Jan
  6. Yes, we had to implement that because we have many U.S. users - so we will have both until the US sees the error in their ways... Jan
  7. We also have a system in place that will initialize your TA to either 18000 (western hemisphere) or 5000 (eastern hemisphere). Jan
  8. Hi Tom, thanks for the report! Jan
  9. Hi, there is no non-normal procedure for that. It is very rare, fortunately, but what has happened is that the battery charger failed, the battery drained and the planes generators dropped offline. Fortunately the weather was good (not even standby power)... Jan
  10. Hi, also check your joystick setup and "CWS deadband" setting in the Preferences menu. Sometimes joysticks interfere with the autopilot (like a pilot would in the plane if he pushed on the yoke while the AP is flying...) Jan
  11. Thanks for reporting back, Tchou!
  12. Thanks for the report, the video and the .txt! This will help us fix this issue... Cheers, Jan
  13. Thanks, Tom. We do expect some quirks to be found still with the "subsequent flights" - your report will help us narrow that down! Jan
  14. We are working on the problem! More info to follow shortly! Jan
  15. My money would be on the photosceneries you are running... Jan
  16. I think this is modeled correctly. Also note that X-Plane will enter a special "stopped" mode when the ground speed gets very low - this is due to problems with "friction creep" that X-Plane was suffering from. So whenever the ground speed gets very low, X-Plane acts as if the wheels are soldered to the ground, so you don´t weathervane and shimmy off the runway in wind, for example. That being said, it is not recommended to help with brakes during turns in an airliners. The differential moment is not very strong, and you would need a lot of power to overcome the braking effort. This is something for an emergency, for example if your Captain is incapacitated (the FO does not have a tiller) and you have to get off the runway to where stairs can get attached, But I wouldn´t even try to enter a regular stand or gate with differential braking, only. The power needed is too dangerous for ground equipment. Jan

    MCP reset?

I agree that having that stuff preset is cool and saves time - but this ends for me where the functionality of the real plane is different. If you always get a certain value on powerup (like the DH, for example), then you should also do so on our model. I know we can get in the old argument again about what is more convenient for the user. But you know where I stand on that. . Jan
  18. I have NO clue... is there another plugin interfering? Thats my standard suspiscion. Try to map a key to "mixture down engine 1" and try again? Does it shut down if you pull up the fire switch? Thanks, Jan
  19. Hi Richard, thanks for the report. As far as I know, nothing was changed pertaining to camera control or use... so I am curious as to why this is happening now. Thanks again, Jan

    MCP reset?

Hi George, we are working on having airspeed reset to 110 kts on powerup, the other values will be what you had when you shut down last... Jan
  21. It will...in the future ;-) Thanks for reporting this, Jan
  22. Sure! Jan
  23. Thanks - this has been reported a few times and a fix for it should be out very shortly! Jan
  24. This works for me - are you sure the startlevers are all the way at "cutoff"? Jan
