  1. No disrespect to the developers on your list, but only one out of that three is bringing consistent decent quality to XPX, and only MisterX can claim to be on the level of FlyTampa in X-Plane 10. Based on the screens coming from Attitude Simulations, if they get KDTW right, then they will probably be the best XPX scenery developer. Standing by with great interest in Icarus's KORD. Their Manchester was good.
  2. Good job! Keep them coming.
  3. Probably the best released scenery to date for XP10. Please people remember to donate something for this scenery if you can so that he can keep them coming, MisterX's work is so much worth it. Combine the surrounding area with world2xplane (mass pro) and g2xpl photo scenery ground textures and you have a masterpiece plus extra.
  4. Looking good! All I see is quality in these screen shots.
  5. So I was on the fence about buying scenery from Dai-Media. I have been looking for some high quality pay ware scenery that I can fly the IXEG 737 into. I found Dai-Media about a year ago, but I just wasn't very convinced by the videos. I was wrong, the quality of their scenery is amazing and the video don't do the actual scenery justice. I decided to give their LRBS a try, I liked it so much I went back and got LEBL. This development team is doing an awesome job with XP10 scenery development. I'm now standing by for their next release. Day one buy for sure! Now if we can convince them to bring their talent to some North American and South American airports. That would be fantastic!
  6. Sorry about that. I missed the sarcasm. My original point retracted,
  7. In the video he said the bad news was management of all the fuse switches. This is bad news? How? This is a study level sim. There are certain other simulations for beginners based on flight schools. X-Plane is not one of them.
  8. These new sounds are so good. Thanks Blue Sky Star Simulation!
  9. Released!!! http://www.blueskystar.net/crj200-jrollon.html
  10. Ortho is the photo scenery that sits below your autogen. Tony's w2xp is designed to work with photo scenery. For example your photo scenery is a 2d surface. While in the air that looks okay, on the ground or VFR it would not look very realistic. Tony's w2xp adds a 3d surface layer over the photo scenery using open street map data. Using the sat photo and w2xp you will have an accurate real world representation in your simulator. This is very similar to what you saw in your 32bit sim, if you have any experience with for example an Orbx region. The difference is that orthos plus w2xp is a very accurate representation of the real world. It's so accurate that you would be able to fly over your own house in the simulator. If the open street map data is good in your country, there will actually be a 3d model of your house in the simulator generated by w2xp. At the moment OSM data is the best in Europe, second best in the US. So if you fly a lot in either of these locations, your simulator is going to really shine. Do a google search for x-plane orthos for the various tools to create orthos for x-plane. Check out this video as an example of what ortho plus w2xp look like. Clearly you can see in this video it blows away anything in the 32bit sims. At the moment the w2xp developer has released several regional, and highly detailed areas. Norway, Massachutes, Great Britain, and a few others. Every continent is available, but as I said before OSM data in the global files may not be as good as for example Europe. In those areas you will not have much 3D generated over your 2D photo scenery.
  11. 1. If you want better ground textures in addition to uhd mesh you will need ortho photoscenery. Use uhd as your mesh, with ortho photo scenery on top of it. Then put World2Xplane on top of your photoscenery. Do this and you should have no further reason to go back to 32bit simulation again. Take a look at some of josjjgibbs twitch steams as an example of what your simulator could look like. Default ground textures are terriable in my opnion. 2. As for seasonal textures, I believe there's a company working on them at the moment. However I'm so impressed with w2xp and orthos that I really don't think that I can ever go back to default textures, even if they where seasonal. See SeasonsXP here http://maxx-xp.com/?page_id=23 3. I think this is dependent on the skill of the developer. Have you seen Richard Nunes's SBGL scenery? X-Plane is in constant development. You should keep an eye on the X-Plane developers blog to see what's coming done the pipe. One of the most exciting things I'm looking forward to in 10.50 is better and more static aircraft models at default airports. The nice thing about X-Plane is the default airports are actually worthy of flying in and out of. KSEA and KATL are awesome just to name a few. Default airports are built by the community using a standardized set of tools and textures from Laminar. Keep in mind you need a good computer to get the most out X-Plane 10. Here is a list of specs to get the absolute best out of this great simulator. I7 4970K or better GTX 980 or better 4gb of VRAM is must, recommend Titan X with 12gb VRAM for the very best performance with the most autogen. At least 16gb of RAM, recommended 32gb of RAM... don't be skimpy with this. 960gb or greater SSD for X-Plane and add-ons 460gb or greater SSD for uhd mesh 6tb WD black for all of your photo scenery. Add more WB Black drives as needed but 6tb should be more than enough to get you started. 16zl is sufficient. Anything more than that , you will have a lot of stutters as your HDD works to keep up with the sim. If you have the money then 6tb of SSD with 17zl or greater, but unless you're VFR flyer you want see much difference.
  12. We want scenery! We want scenery! I think the old 32bit developers are starting to listen. Aerosoft is listening a little more. If you have the time and skill, please respond to this link. I think the release of IXEG 737 has brought a lot of new interest to X-Plane. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/111599-wanted-x-plane-support-officer/
  13. Ok, now that we all have been flying our 737 classic, by far the best simulation in all of flight sim in my opinion. What do you think our new favorite developers at IXEG have in store next? Do you think it's too soon to start the what's next question? This aircraft is the first time that we have had a chance to really see what's possible on the XPX platform. That said, I'm now very curious to see what else IXEG can pull off on this platform. Do you think IXEG will follow the path of Level-D, releasing the one hit wonder B767-300ER, or do you think they can be our version of PMDG for XPX? I hope IXEG take some time to enjoy the success of this launch and continue to respond to bug reports for the 737. But I hope sometime in the future we hear plans of what they have in store for us next. Can you imagine a IXEG 777 or 787? X-Plane would dominate if they did that. FlyTampa, FSDT, Flightbeam Studio Taxi2Gate wake up! The future of flight simulation is here on X-Plane. It's got to be a bummer missing out on all those sales when the 737 was released. Heck I bought 3 new sceneries on release day, but none from these developers because they are stuck in the 32bit past. I have no doubt that PMDG have paid attention to the successful launch of this aircraft, and I'm very curious to see what they can do with the platform as well. For now IXEG, you have the floor. Our ears are open and we are on the edge of our seats. You have our full attention.
  14. Blue Sky Star is one of my favorite developers. X-Plane 10 is really coming to life this year. I'm so excited about the new sound pack coming for the CRJ-200. This add-on alone is going to bring more new users over to XPX and the CRJ-200. Fantastic job Blue Sky Star! I hope release is not to far away.
  15. I think Laminar Research has a done a good job with their scenery gateway idea. For years users have complained about the lack of scenery in X-Plane. Giving the community the tools to create and populate the world with airports was genius. Often simmers will point out how one of the downfalls of XPX is flying into a baron wasteland. Well that's all changing, take a look at some of the work that the community has done so far, and with each new version of XPX more new airports are released. X-Plane's version of a "generic" airport scenery blows away any generic airport in the other simulators. Some of this "generic" work could easily pass for pay ware, and it's actually default. Thanks to those of you out there that are contributing to the X-Plane scenery gateway. Take a look at some of the latest work in Osamah;s latest video below.
  16. I don't think Taxi2Gate have yet realized the value of bringing their products over to XPX at this time. Perhaps the new stream of customers using XPX as a result of the IXEG 737 Classic will change their and all the other major FS developer's mind. 29Palms is on board now, who's next?
  17. 29Palms released 29Palms for X-Plane 10. http://29palms-store.de/
  18. Performance is good! The soft cloud option is fantastic. Good job!
  19. Do you like X-Plane 10? Do you want to see continued high quality sceneries like this developer is building? If so support this project with your money. This is only my opinion, but I think that XPX has a problem. This platform has so much potential. However we have a freeware first mentality in this community. Because of this way of thinking, XPX has been saturated with garbage. There's a reason why the recently announced LOWI is coming to every platform other than XPX. That's because Aerosoft knows that you will not buy it. No you prefer to use a garbage freeware version instead, but then complain that we don't have any quality scenery in XPX. No FlyTampa, FlightBeam, FSDT or Taxi2Gate for us. The freeware junk is just to competitive. This developer is bringing us top quality with KDTW. I have followed this project since it was announced. I'm writing this in hopes that you will all BUY this scenery so that the developer will continue to support the best FS platform which is XPX. The reason developers continue to support an old 32Bit platform is because the customers BUY it. Yes they give money for quality scenery. Based on these screens I have very high hopes for this developer. And I hope all of you will show your support for this work.
  20. Jah, People know that FSX/P3D is outdated. Our top developers continue to support it because you BUY it. Buy is the keyword here. These people need our money. Sad to say there's no money in XPlane scenery development because of the rampant availability of freeware/converted scenery. I love FlyTampa, FSDT, FlightBeam, UK2000, Orbx and Aerosoft. I own a large catalog of their scenery, and I will be happy to give them more of my money for an XPX version of scenery that I also own for the 32Bit platform. They could probably even enhance some of their best work more on XPX. This will never happen because unfortunately people in this community push freeware/conversion over paying. There is a reason why Aerosoft is even doing a new version of LOWW for FS2004, and that's because there's money to be made for that platform. Yes, the users of FS2004 will BUY a new version of LOWW. Not us, we prefer to keep our crappy freeware version. No progress for XPX because our community has a mentality of freeware first. Look around the forums and on YouTube, and see how the XPX community push this garbage. We will never have continuous quality scenery until we change the attitudes of the XPX community. We must SUPPORT our DEVELOPERS!
  21. Here's a crazy idea. How about we all go over to FlyTampa's forums and start demanding that they support XPX. This freeware / conversion stuff is killing this platform. We use all this stuff and then complain that none of the major developers are supporting XPX. Why would they support a platform where the users aren't willing to pay for their hard work. Isn't it funny how Aerosoft hasn't announced a new version of LOWW for XPX, but they have for everything else? I guess Aerosoft has decided much like all the other developers that it's just not worth the risk to compete with the various different poor quality freeware version that are already available.
  22. SMP 3.1 and Real Weather Connector are by far the two most anticipated add-ons for me this year. I have been waiting a long time for weather depictions in XPX such as show in the video. Hopefully seasonal textures are next on the list.
  23. Fortunate for some of us, we live in governments where free speech is respected. I personally don't agree with everything that is said on these forums, but I do respect the right of those to make dissention, blow off steam or express whatever is on their minds. It's very disturbing when I read talk about banning someone's IP address because of dissention. In the USA we don't do that. While I don't necessarily agree with some of the negative dissention, I respect the right for it to be heard and expressed. As long as the terms of service are respected, everyone's voice should be heard rather it's a negative or a positive comment.
