  1. Re-download RWC and run it from the latest installer.
  2. My screenshots clearly show clouds going to the horizon (and at a higher altitude). It also clearly shows a considerable fps increase. What you're still failing to see is such tests are not applicable with real weather active. When RWC is present the METAR reading is much more precise, whereas default is an approximation. Therefore, comparing the two with real weather active does not demonstrate cloud distance draw between the two appropriately.
  3. I can't actually really see what you mean in these screenshots. What I see is Real Weather Connector active and displaying a mix of long range overcast (which in the middle appears to go to horizon) with a "hole" in coverage on left and right side, vs a slightly more inaccurate "assumption" for what X-Plane thinks is going on there in the default screenshot. If you want to test the two out correctly, disable real weather. Case in point... I have just run a test at 28,000 ft (sorry for the quality, I'm using laptop for these images). I maxed out cloud detail in X-Plane rendering settings for default clouds, and I maxed out cloud draw distance for SMP clouds. The results are shown below:
  4. You only needed to install SMP. Lack of activation dialog would be correct if you already have a valid license.
  5. Nope. This is the right place. Frank will have a more definitive answer but at quick glance it looks like some questionable METAR information.
  6. Almost looks like bad cloud intersections? Multiple layers within one another. Which airport is this at?
  7. Yes, the installer itself has been updated a couple of days after initial release that had altered code for the SkyMaxx Pro validation check portion. Makes sense that if you used the older installer it hiccuped on you like that. This is not an issue in the latest installer.
  8. Sounds as though you had an older RWC installer and not one from a download today? Either way, if you already have RWC installed it is not necessary to install again.
  9. Hello, all, This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 3.2 update for SkyMaxx Pro. All customers who have purchased SkyMaxx Pro v3 up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase SkyMaxx Pro v3 from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 3.2 for you. If you're a Real Weather Connector customer then new changes will be included in this update that will greatly enhance your experience. What if I didn't get the update e-mail? If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original SkyMaxx Pro 3 download and re-download it. It will download as the latest version! There are some important fixes and requests implemented in this update. The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Cloud detail level is now set automatically based on the cloud draw area in SMP's settings, to maximize performance with large draw areas. High-altitude jetliner pilots will want to try turning up the draw area for fast clouds that extend further, and look better, than ever. X-Plane 10.50-ready; uses new 10.50 features to further improve performance. Added 3 new cirrus cloud texture sets Less VRAM usage from clouds Removed min & max cloud size settings Edges of cumulus cloud layers are now rounded instead of square Cumulus clouds are very slightly darker More performance improvements Cirrus cloud lighting refined Cirrus clouds no longer "jump" periodically Updated documentation If you're a Real Weather Connector customer, further enhancements include: New "Never change visible weather" option in the RWC configuration dialog ensures the weather around you stays constant, as you fly into the latest updated weather seamlessly. Avoids reloading of clouds when crossing 1-degree tile boundaries Properly handles missing RVR data in METAR reports (fixes issues with no clouds appearing near some automated weather stations) Automatically enforces a minimum cloud draw area when RWC is active Clouds are no longer reloaded if a new METAR file is found, yet its data is unchanged. METAR data is now always reloaded when RWC settings are changed Cloud layer heights now more accurate As always, thanks for being a customer with X-Aviation. We appreciate your feedback and support! Enjoy these latest updates, and stay tuned to the forum as we continually announce the latest happenings.
  10. The ticket was created on April 26th. It was responded to on April 27th. The discount code system applies only when the two products are purchased together.
  11. For the record, this support ticket was replied to. A reply back was never received from your end. I would encourage you to check spam folders. The bottom line for this situation is we do not condone nor allow sharing of files with anyone. This topic is closed.

  13. I have no idea if it would run, but even if it does, it would not run well. Because of this, I cannot suggest you purchase this add-on with such a setup.
  14. I definitely do not recommend this product on your computer.
  15. Okay, now that we have this figured out, can you see if it happens with HDR on AND off?
  16. It may not solve it for you, but it will solve it for us. Isolating the issue is one step further to a fix.
  17. Only after you get the requested METAR file off to Frank.
  18. If this is truly your take, I see no reason you felt it was appropriate to bring this up in this topic. You're only asking to derail topics at that point, and if that's what you feel is going to be appropriate, I'm going to ask you to please not do it. While I can appreciate your background, it has no bearing on the dynamics of the niche market we live in. There are many bigger corporations where people do not interact in the same fora as X-Plane type users would, and as such not all things will apply. Lastly, the tone you read is in your mind. If you want to have a negative outlook on someone or something, you can surely make something neutral (or even positive) read in your mind as negative. Be a little more open-minded and you may come to see that. Sometimes people will even perceive short, precise comments/answers as rude. Others will read the words for what they are and understand no desire to be upsetting was ever intended. Please, leave this topic ON topic. Further derailment will quickly lead to its closure. There was simply no necessity to you sparking this discussion in the way you did.
  19. My posts in this topic have no relevancy to posts in others, and while I may be short and to the point much of the time, I certainly don't fear "shortcomings" or criticism. Sure, anyone can go look and make any assessment they want. I stand by my last post. The point here is someone researching SkyMaxx Pro may come around and find this post and go, "Oh no, most customers complain about this and they don't do anything about it!" Context is everything, and that was simply improper context. If anyone wants to follow anything, one thing we do is ALWAYS improve upon. Like it or not, @HamSammich, I'm definitely not out of line here.
  20. What are you even talking about here? I commented on one specific thing. "Most" of our customers do not complain about this. That was an invalid statement made by @poodster and he acknowledged that. No one has their back up at all, and Frank exemplified that fully in his response. Fine to say you have a problem with something. Fine if it's valid. Shortcomings are to be expected in any product, and it's how things are made better. But, don't go posting around that this shortcoming is something "most" customers complain about; it's surely not...not even close!
